Looking for a detailed Armored VF-1 kit. Any suggestions?
EXO replied to sbantonelli's topic in Model kits
Nice! you can mod it for the upcoming bandai kit too. -

The cast looks great. Spot on. But the guys interview like pretentious emo douches... the kid and the chick are the only ones that have actual personalities.

I use gloss clear coat in between each layer before the last also. I tried Future once to lessen the silvering effect but the water from the decal ruined it. But this thread made me research it more. You have to wait up to 48 hours for Future to completely dry to be able to apply decals on it. Other interesting tips too. Now I can't wait for the next build... stupid non stop rain here in L.A. Can't paint anything.

LOL. I've only seen that vide once because I finally had to see what the hell Stephen Colbert was talking about. Gangnam Style not included.

moved to non macross section.

Maybe they're just hamsters on wheels to power the thing... I'm not gonna think about this stuff til after I see it. It's a long time til summer.

I'd be happy with a Rinko Kikuchi in her battle suit from Hot Toys.

I know Basara is based on Lennon, but the hair is definitely Ian McCullough.

Have we started down the road to a macross movie?

ah yeah. I've heard of hydrospan. I've never seen anyone use it though. If my 1/72's don't survive printing, I'm gonna send you my 1/60s to reduce scales.

-
Here's one I did years ago with wax... sad thing with hand sculpted figures is that you're stuck with one scale. En garde!
-
It will be. Unfortunately it still has to go thru licensing also. On a separate note, about the Ride Armor kit. If someone doesn't release it next year, someone here has to work on it right? Right? I have all the Beagles I need, I just have to think whether I want a shinobu or not. A black Bartley Ride Armor always did look cool and a camera accessoy would be awesome. BTW, I guess I was wrong about the Bartley not having a targeting system huh Tober?

Maintenance crew is the next set. And then a special set for the third. opa!

I mean, I was gonna go watch it no matter what... but that trailer gets me all giddy... I feel like the little kid that was gonna watch Mazinger for the first time ever.

Not really immortal but kinda like The Crow, he was reborn to superhero status but he can still be hurt or killed. His great grandnephew also becomes a superhero in the 60's, grandson of his brother that was a fellow Ranger.

I don't really like selling straight from Shapeways and like to avoid it if I can. If all their printout was smooth and easy to paint I'd do it that way. Also it's a lot less expensive if there were recasted. The WSFP is cheap but I don't recommend it for figures this small. The plan is to clean them up make sure everything is smooth and sell them as resin for people to paint. If there's any clean up by people it'll be minor, like flash or pin holes. There maybe a few I'll put up on Shapeways, some that are impossible to recast because of the pose. Or if there's not enough interest I'll just put it up on my store, but it'll cost more.

I was looking at Hisstank and I came across these designs. They're actually pretty cool. Too bad the movie seems more campy than the look on these pre-production pages. http://www.hisstank.com/gi-joe-news/gi-joe-movie-2/gijoe-retaliation-movie-spoiler-images-and-information-11725/?showall=1 Another thing I read on there is how Channing Tatum "requested" to be killed off because his career was about to take off. First of all I don't buy it. Second of all, if it is true... frakk you a-hole! Let's see where you are when you Steve Guttenberg your career and beg for a spot on GI Joe 18: Rebooted.

Yes. I have shipped there. Here's the guy fixing whatever it is... the wheel or something. The smaller version is to remind that these are meant to be seen at a way smaller size.
