  1. Why were the zero's canopies open? Do they fight in combat situations like that?
  2. Do what you're comfortable with. Thanks for sharing!
  3. there's no problem with posting your own collection in your own thread. I think more people should start threads like this in this section. The toy section does get more traffic but after a while threads that are that long are hell to search thru.
  4. You can use clear coat over primer or use the primer as paint if you like the color. The thing you can't do is use acrylic over lacquer lacquer over acrylic. You can, but you have to spray it at a slow increments .. best not to try. Any transforming toy will scrape down the paint if here's continuous friction between parts. The best thing to do would be to reduce contact by sanding down parts that can be sanded down. I use automotive clear coat because it's designed to withstand a lot, but as you know, if someone decides to run a key across your car surface, it'll easily remove that paint. even factory paint can be scraped off by transforming the toy that's why they use as much molded plastic as then possibly can.
  5. As someone mentioned before, this is WB in control not HG, so it's not 100% guaranteed crap outcome. That being said, the usual chances of something like this being good, anime to Live Action or anything with a previous existing franchise is about 5% out of 100, maybe I'm being generous. But once and a while you get a Rise Of The Planet of the Apes, I think that the best anyone is hoping for, lol. That was a decent flick, but the fact that it was better than the muck we usually get made it seem better than it actually was. I enjoyed it. Of course man... those guys made Homicide and The Wire... that's the kind of dialogue they excel at! Thanks for mentioning that though... perfect example.
  6. Thanks ABT! I'll just try the stream that day and see if it works. It's not like asking them would make them turn off the firewall, at least there's a chance they'll allow people outside of Japan to listen in.
  7. Did you get the signed Tenjin Illustration? Do they provide the unsigned version with the magazine?
  8. Yeah it was 1/60.
  9. The first time I saw the F-14 was in the movie The Final Countdown... Seeing them and the USS Nimitz was love at first site.
  10. lol... there's only been one 1/48 line for Yamato and that's the VF-1. And I think that was just to get them to stand as tall as the other valkyries in your display. I don't think they ever even thought about an entire line of Macross toys in 1/48. That would make the YF-21 and YF-19 huge also. Though I wouldn't mind seeing it. lol.
  11. I'm not going to knock the movie already (IF it truly gets made this time) but to me there's a few key ingredients that I would need to truly enjoy this or anything associated to a Macross movie, though some Macross sequels didn't really hit some of these for me. mechanical design - that's the one thing about Pacific Rim that so far I've been disappointed with, but I'm still thinking that seeing the action will make up for that. The only thing that it would prevent me from doing is going after the merchandise. I've yet to see any new hollywood movies that really hit on this point but again... any new designs for Robotech that would make them forget milking Macross is fine with me, if that could possibly happen. aerial combat action on par with Macross Zero and Plus... hate Zero, but the valkyrie combat scenes were too awesome to neglect. realistic military chatter - not just Macross but any movie or tv series that has fake sounding military lingo bugs me. I've never been in the military but I think most war movies just copy other movies about war as far as radio chatter. I mean you don't get "We're in the pipe five by five" stuck in your head because it's been done over and over again. This really minor but a big enough pet peeve to mention. Storyline - the original storyline is going to be hard to beat. I mean, they've already copied it with Pearl Harbor and it was pretty bad. Emotional content - movies like this don't even try, but when you talk about iconic scenes that most of us had never seen before Robotech, like... uhhh...spoiler alert... Focker dying and a love triangle that didn't really involve one evil person that deserved to die making the couple an obvious choice, it would be pretty easy to screw up or even neglect.
  12. Yeah. For $150 though I think I could have dealt with it, even though $150 seemed ridiculous for a toy back then. Lol. It wasn't until they announced the new one that I though I was glad not to have bought it. Though this time it'll probably start off at $400.
  13. Since you have to decide between missiles and no missiles, does that mean that the doors can't be hinged to close? Also when you say tighten up the joints, does it mean that model is poseable? Or is it fixed posed?
  14. Gotta grab it while its still there. I remember seeing the ED-209 there for 150. Then I said I'll come back for it. Next thing you know it was sold out and on eBay for $400. How much was it at F&S?
  15. Dammit. As much as I loved the iron man figures I've always wished they were die cast. I probably have to get at least the MKIII. Yikes.
  16. Yeesh. I guess rubber is no good for these. Good luck with the hot glue.
  17. Do they allow recording of the event? Have they done this before? Probably happens all the time right? I meant to ask video... I'm assuming their streaming audio? Or is it a video stream? I'm also doubting that we'll be able to recieve the feed here in the states

It's funny how much time you'll be spending in the make-up aisles with the ladies when working on projects.
  19. Sexy beast!!!
  20. I believe they plan on using the Rick hunter Lynn minmay characters. I agree with mog. I actually want to see this get made finally. Because they can't use any Macross designs. Hopefully whatever designs they come up with will replace any Macross in their regular library because even if it bombs, it'll be more popular than the Macross franchise. They have to make a movie or lose the license. And they've already paid for previous scripts. At this point they have to pump out what ever they come up with. It also says that the director they are looking at has two movies booked so it'll be a year before we even see any sort of pre-production if he decides to stay on the project.
  21. OK... NOW it's time to lock...
