If you read my posts I agree with you about Leo... you're the one that said they don't cast major stars in SW, that wasn't something done on purpose in the 70s. That's budgetary... Sam Jackson is no lightweight and you can check his IMDB about how many times he's been a leading man.

At the time he was asked Samuel Jackson was about to surpass Harrison Ford as the highest grossing actor in the world.

Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman. I can see people turning down Star Wars or Star Trek because of the mess they leave those franchises in, but a lot of people want to work with Abrams, specially on a reboot/restart type thing. But an actor like Leo doesn't need JJ Abrams... he's already worked with Scorsese, Tarantino, Cameron, Nolan. And those guys set up the production based on his needs. It's almost like asking Depp to be in SW. He'll do it if Burton directs it, because then the story will be about some crazy jedi with some crazy hair running around the Death Star saying crazy things.

Robotech - Love Live Alive + Shadow Chronicles 2-movie set
EXO replied to Negotiator's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Friends don't let friends... lol... So I watched the interview... that was such a douchy way to handle an interview by the guy on the screen. "It's my job..." Yeah, we know it's your job Uwe, that's why we're interviewing you. It's called insight. You know that lady owed someone something for having to put up with that. One funny thing they talked about was that they were nervous about using the name "Love, Live, Alive" until the movie "Eat, Pray Love" came out. Eat, Pray Love came out in 2010 and there was a book before that, so that means that they've been working on this for a while now. But seriously... THAT's what they based they're decision on? lol. I wonder what they would have called it if it wasn't for that movie... The Lancer Chronicles?- 371 replies

SDCC 2013 Hasbro Exclusives: Jetfire Skystriker
EXO replied to Chet's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
There's a great possibility that this will never even get to court. HG just has to prove once and a while that they're around to protect their property in case they ever go back to court against someone like Big West. They also have to make some toys and shows once and a while also to prove that the license is being used actively. It doesn't have to be good, it just has to be done...- 158 replies

LatinoReview isn't an unknown site. They've been doing movie news longer than Deadline. I'm not saying this story is true but LR has been reporting scoops and movie news to a wide audience for a while now.

SDCC 2013 Hasbro Exclusives: Jetfire Skystriker
EXO replied to Chet's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
True, but it's also a dumb move considering they're probably alienating a large part of their own fanbase. It's not like people that are fans of robotech has never heard of G.I Joe or Transformers but on the flipside, a lot of the fans of the two series don't give a crap about Robotech. And I wouldn't exactly call it "free" if they lose against Hasbro's much larger legal team that could cost them more money than they would get from an exclusive toy sold at one event. (Hopefully.) I mean... I'm wondering at this point who's left on HG's side and what do they have to gain from it? More Valkyrie pillow sales?- 158 replies

It was 3 random Meltrans (Green Q-Raus) in formation that shot Roy in SDF-M. They all shot at the same time. Of course this particular one was crushed by Kamjin. There's no DYRL equivalent to Robotech so it was never Khyron...

MickyG's Yamato VF-1S Unpainted, Unassembled Kit Build

You did that effect with the paint with airbrush? Awesome! -
The 1/48s were going for $148 retail at conventions and Frank and Sons and now the 1/60s are going to be $160. I think it's time Yama... er Arcadia start making those 1/32s... lol. My guess for the YF-19 is $249 initially with early bird discounts and retailing close to $300 once things settle.

I usually say "You should see my gun collection!" That'll make them think twice about saying or thinking anything.

Weird that they dubbed it. I wonder how they choose which location gets the dubbed version. The whole point of the exchange was to show that Raleigh was more worldly or more than just a dumb grunt by being able to understand Japanese. Which contradicts the beginning where he talks about him and his brother not being good at anything else but piloting Jaegers. Maybe going around building walls allowed him to learn languages.

As much as I love the movie I don't really need to see a sequel, especially when they tie it off neatly. I say just do something within the same genre and use the same creative team.

Thanks! I painted that! Lol. The one that Bariaboru Faita posted was painted by the sculptor. I love his sculpt but his finish is really rough. A lot of the hard corners were really soft I ended up resculpting the back pack on it. Otherise it's a very nice kit. I wish he would have included a visor for the helmet too. He also did a shower Minmay figure.

Honestly, if it'll keep the cost down... the original black boxes of the 1/48s would do... but yeah. Yamato had the ugliest box art designs for Macross toys and from the look of the 30th Anniversary promo art, the tradition continues with Arcadia. It doesn't even have to be Tenjin. If you check out Yamato's other robot products like the Scopedog, Garland or the Patlabor boxes, they look pretty good.

Check the blacklist. I think there might be someone that got their package all damaged and can't get a refund. Maybe it was somewhere else.
