  1. Correction, it is on the 1/72's brochure. But the manual has some other tidbits. I should probably find some better scans.
  2. Bandai 1/72 VF-31 model kit. Not the PDF brochure. The actual model kit manual. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10382560
  3. Kawamori is listed as Delta's "Chief Director". Delta's director is Kenji Yasuda. Basically, I think this frees Kawamori from being in charge of small day-to-day stuff. It's Kawamori's vision and he can step in or provide guidance every now and then, but most of the stuff is left up to the people below him.To me, I see Kawamori as the equivalent of "Executive Producer" or "Showrunner".
  4. It appears more like Epsilon has a majority stake in that subsidiary they own who in turn, owns or has a majority stake in SV Works who is a subsidiary of General Galaxy. Epsilon is suppose to be this huge corporation. The funny thing is, this happens in real life; this war of proxies. A company that could be own by, is a subsidiary, or is a majority stake or share holder through another company and they are in competition with another company who is owned by, a subsidiary of, or whatever of a larger company.
  5. "Dark" as in the "Dark Arts", i.e., magic.
  6. I need to look at the 1/72 kit manual (which looks like it is essentially the same text as the Vol. 2 liner notes) but it sounds more like Epsilon is essentially "buying" Sv-262s then selling them to Windermere. "SV Works" sounds like it's a General Galaxy-subsidiary who is majority-owned by an Epsilon subsidiary. I believe Arad made a point about that in Ep 21 regarding how they are able to break through the fold fault surrounding the planet. I guess we'll find out soon. There is a note that due to the unusual transformation design, the Drakens have poor flight range in space since there's a lot less room for fuel. Mainly column A, tiny tiny bit on column B. A VF-31 can do 29.5G. Will they ever hit those limits in practice? Probably not.
  7. And just for frame of reference, let's pick on SAC-based drawings. The Major - Already addressed that one. Ishikawa (Lasarus Ratuere) - Ok. Togusa (Chin Han) - Ummm, I always saw Togusa as a younger man. Someone who was just starting a family. He looks much older here. Saito (Yutaka Izumihara) - Too use to the clean shaved look Saito had. Borma (Tawanda Manyimo) - Meh. OK I guess. Batou (Pilou Asbæk) - WTF? Where are his fake eyes? Aramaki (Takeshi Kitano) - Missing the beard.
  8. Speaking of which, what was Keith's relationship like with dear-dead dad (being the bastard child)? He had the whole "loyal soldier"-attitude up when ever we saw the 2 in the same scene. And don't tell me it's in the bloody manga.
  9. This could have been done earlier or as Roy suggested, Frejya could have been there to represent us, the audience. To take Roy's analogy, the 3 reminiscing is like the mother and father saying "Remember when you ... Oh yeah." If Frejya was there, it would feel more like a "How I Met Your Mother/Father" story. At this point in the series, this history lesson does not change my like/hate for Walkure. It does nothing to advance the story. It could have been done earlier. My question to this episode isn't "What is the point of learning Walkure's history?", it's "What is the point of learning Walkure's history THIS late in the game? ". I'd wish they fleshed out Kaname/Messer/Arad back when Messer died. To call back to them now, even if it was briefly, just felt a bit awkward. 7 had the advantage of more episodes and could spread itself out more where Fire Bomber's rise to fame could be chronicled from being nobodies to somebody. Here, Walkure is already famous. The issue we come back to is pacing. Especially now as we're coming to the end of this series.
  10. That doesn't help the story as we near the end of the series. If we didn't have patience, none of us would be here now. The issue we have is much of what has taken place over these recent episodes could have been spread out into the previous episodes. Instead of feeding this information from episode to episode, the info is dumped on us all at once. As we near the end, the focus should be the ending, not an info dump at the end. Protoculture were a bunch of dicks. And the universe keeps spinning.
  11. Yes...What ever did happen to that dancing Battroid pilot who got shot out of the sky? There was so much potential there...
  12. Unfortunately, the logical part of me says that should be the last thing Xaos does.
  13. Not sure how it works in Japan, but that's how it usually works in Hollywood. Someone pitches an idea (or writes up the outline) for an episode and then someone goes about writing the script. Who pitches the idea and who writes it varies from a writer to the executive producer (the EP being Kawamori in this case). Then the executive producer and/or director approves. In Hollywood, the pitcher is supposed to write his/her episode. Again, not sure how this works for animation.
  14. The last few episodes will be different because obviously, the series is heading toward its finale. The problem is the road were taking to get to that finale. It's not a good one. Since we got past the halfway-point (perhaps even earlier), this show has been a narrative mess. They could have used parts of other previous episodes to incorporate what we have been seeing for the past few weeks instead of as they've done, drop 3 weeks of info on us. I'm sure this show will end in grand Macross-fashion, but that doesn't excuse the story dragging we've been through for the past 8 episodes.
  15. Quick-viewing (since I have to you know...do real-life things. Like eat). My thumb has moved up 45-degrees from straight down but it's still in negative territory. Three straight episodes of pure info-dumping with next to nil action is not good pacing. The Messer parts of this episode could have appeared back when Messer was still alive. Now for spoiler-ish commenting.

  17. The worst episode of Frontier is still better than most episodes of Delta.
  18. Yes. Even Frontier's bridge bunnies had more screen time than Delta's.
  19. I think that's going to be something that plays against this series rather than a highlight. This episode really hasn't helped the overall picture of the show. Looking back at episode 20 of Frontier, we were pushing more than 4x the number of posts in 1 day on Frontier than we are with Delta, and that's even without subs (Michael also died in that episode). Commercially, the show has been good. Critically, this show, especially this 2nd half, has been a narrative bore. And for all the reasons we've been yapping for weeks now. I think this show will finish up in the remaining episodes, but we're not going to like the rest of the ride.
