Figures. Ah well, at least it doesn't just totally crash any time there's mroe than one set of quote tags... Nope. Someone didn't close a tag. Look for this line:
-
Cuz someone forgot to close a tag...Use "Preview post " if you're gonna make a long reply. edit: Actually, it appears that the SV-52 became the SV-51γ. http://www.anime.net/macross/mecha/anti_un...sv51/index.html How about you guys just use bold-face to quote. I feel like I'm debugging code here....

Our focus is more of the central island. However, the population does have boats so having some of it's residents on the other islands is possible.
-
Nope. Which would you rather see more of? Politics? Or more VFs?

Correction: König Monster Monster = Destroid.

Tragically, no. dammit well...could the "morphing" wings be used in the VF-22S if installed? or would you still need the -21's cockpit system to use them? Hypothetically, maybe. You'd need a computer routine to control it, as well as an interface for the system. The software was likely written during the YF-21 testing, so that should just need installation. But the wiring isn't there, unless the VF-22 uses some sort of computer network for operation of peripherals(like ethernet)... which actually isn't a very implausable scenario. But you'd have to replace the entire wing due to materials diffrences. So there's only one major obstale instead of 3. It wasn't just an interface problem or a material problem. http://www.anime.net/macross/mecha/united_...yf21/index.html Cost-wise, the system is just too expensive for mass production.

Most likely yes, but, no. I have seen lineart with of the VF-17's and the VF-11's gunpod with a strap. But those ideas were probably thrown out when production started.

Are we really sure that´s a VF-0 ? look closely at the tailfins , remember the Zero´s are a bit bended. And why does the Ghost appear right now after stupidly dissapearing in Ep.3 anyway ? I do believe that is a VF-0. Although, I don't think that is a Ghost on top of it. The QF-2001 in M0 looks about the length of a VF-1.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
azrael replied to Effect's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
As one guy said it on TFN, the fans finally guessed one right. -
They're not the "cause" they give them the ability to use it. I don't really care though as the movies have moved past the midichlorion "interview" as I put it. You can have all the midichlorions you want, but Yoda will still kick your ass. wheee... showing his prowess with machines/piloting.... Also serves to satisfy Lucas' racing gene. They did have pretty wussy fighters. If they had a badass force, then they would have never been invaded... They're also local security force. It's like telling your local police to fight a global war with their pistols and night-sticks. They're brand new, shiny clones with brand new stuff. I think the CG worked here really well because cg owns the shiny, clean look. If they were done by several actors, they won't be clones. Yoda's speed would have to be part of his style, he's a little guy and a human sized Jedi has a considerable advantage in reach and sheer leverage to bear down on him. I liked it.. Yoda kicking ass. Do you people realize that Yoda is only 2 feet in height? He ain't got much to hit from down there. You mean... like the Jedi? Keepers of the peace... hmmm... Considering the Republic has had a good thousand-year run with the Jedi doing their thing, what would have been the point of a ready army? "Hi, I'm a Jedi Knight. Accept this treaty or I'll cut your f*ckin head off faster than you can say 'wha' "

Kinda reminds me of this:

http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/zoo00/zoo00079.htm The same applies to Macross.

The seat is in the cockpit. Which is located in the chest area.
-
-
Seat rotates down, shield opens. And in M0 ep 1, shield closes, seat rotates back. So the seat rotates then the heat shield moves in or out of place. Doubt it. See how Roy's side stops and then goes practically perpendicular to his body. He's sitting. Try it yourself. Stand up straight. Bend your back down about 5-10 degrees while keeping your head still . Bend the knees slightly. Your eye direction should be focused at about 2-3 feet of the floor in front of you. That is awkward. Not to mention, if you bring your head up so that you are looking directly in front of you and not at the ground, you need to keep your head at the level. The pilot has to be sitting down. I see credits. The hh:mm:ss is 00:08:44. I should point out that his VF is not oriented upright. His VF is leaning on the Octos at about a 30-40 degree angle. You can see is right monitor angled down.

Atleast they brought back the core fighter.....I kinda miss that thing.... edit: Now that I have a chance to look at 'em...let's see: Impulse Gundam (Force, Sword and Blast included): So Okawara....you took Freedom and made it into Strike.....great......can't you think of any other protagonist mech to recycle....At least you made Launcher...I mean Blast look slightly different. As for Sword....You had to borrow Sword Calamity didn't you... Saviour Gundam: Aegis + Airmaster... Chaos Gundam: Aegis' legs + Freedom's hips + Gunbarrel Dagger + Forbidden. Those round boosters/engine blooks don't exactly go to well with the straight lines of the mech....especially when their mounted like that. Abyss Gundam: Those 2 dividing sections(which probably form the nose in MA mode) remind me of Forbidden Blue. This one actually looks decent. Only because we haven't had any marine-type Gundams. Gaia Gundam: You took Blitz and straightened out the curves. Oh well.

To look cool. Cuz they wanted it that way. Cuz it was neat. If you don't like mechs with heads or fingers, go look at a Destroid.

Okay kids, pull out your Yamatos. Now transform that VF-1 from fighter to Battroid. Now when yo get to here: STOP! Let's take a look at how things are at this point. Notice the brestplate. When you bring it down, it's going to cover part of the cockpit. In fact, it will cover right up to where the seat meets the back panels in the cockpit. If we complete the process, the breast plate would just past the seat. And when the seat rotates back, the pilot would be in the torso, where Quamzin hit Roy's VF. In fact, the monitor caves in right where it should, on Roy's upper body, IIRC. No, that's a bit too low. For the DYRL? VF-1, the seat rotates almost 90 degrees. Between 75-85 degrees is more appropriate (Roughly around 80). If it was 50-60, I could almost kiss the steering wheel. The VF-1 seat in SDF Macross, rotates a full 90 degrees. Downwards? The VF-11 seat does rotate. Isamu's seat just happened to have rotated already as his VF, was changing modes. I believed I went over this some pages back. The VF pilot is always sitting upwards/face forward/perpendicular the standing Battroid/parallel to flat ground or plane. It would be awkward if they didn't. Or a MSN-02 Zeong...
-
We don't know. Most likely, it was salvaged but there wasn't much story on the base afterwards.
-
Although the fact that the panels collapse into the arm may allow it to transform, let's assume it can't transform into fighter mode with that thing. You would waste fighter mode with that thing. To lose fighter mode for firepower.....I would not call that an equal tradeoff.
-
I think the key thing to remember here is that this is the prototype testing. Not production design. Look at the "morphing" wings of the YF-21. Nice on the prototype, not feasible for mass production. I doubt it would have been on any full-armor variant. To replace an entire forearm unit with the weapon system would take too much time and be more added weight to the fighter. It would also impede the use of the shield. With your gunpod in the left hand and the weapon system in your right, the shield can't be used. If you rely on the weapon system and stow the gunpod, you have a smaller rate of fire (assuming that thing has to build up a charge and fire). A gunpod would have a much higher sustained rate-of-fire and be more cost effective in the long run.

I'll hold off on this. The Superman project has been on a roller coaster ride since they day they said they wanted to do another Superman movie. The talkback on AICN is saying that Singer and co. are attached to X3 and Logan's Run so this is going to be quite a large amount of work. When the schedules come out for those movies, I'll comment.
