Your opinion, if Kawamori were to redesign..
azrael replied to twich's topic in Movies and TV Series
It would be called Gundam if it did..... Well we have PPB-punches (M7) and we have bayonets (M+). There isn't much emphasis on close-quarter combat in Macross. Those would become part of Escaflowne. Kawamori drew up those pics of valks with swords for a show he called "Knights in the Sky". That idea eventually evolved to Escaflowne. Actually, if you think about it, the times we don't see the YF-21 with the gunpods, it's flying underweight. Most of the time, we see the YF-19 with the gunpod, yet often enough, we see the YF-21 without it....makes me wonder about the YF-21 at that time. -
Having seen that, it's no wonder Obi-wan and Yoda gave up on Anakin (i.e. there is still good in him). If you saw something like that, would you have faith that the guy who did it just made a really bad choice? I don't think so.

Good post from the n00b. don't worry, you'll make an idiot our of yourself later. We've all done it. Actually, I would say they replaced it in the VF-1 with a computer-aided target/tracking system. Remember, the eye-movement scanner is a manual system. Imagine targetting dozens of missiles with that thing and if you miss one or 2 missiles. That's 1 or 2 too many. IIRC, the barrier system as well overloaded with the barrier. That would be a problem. Unfortunately, that would drain the power generator. You'll be vunerable while you recharge. That's still finite energy, my boy. Yep. Star Trek uses deflector shields and ablative armor. Gundam SEED uses anti-beam coatings and anti-beam depth charges. In the case of the anti-beam coating/depth charges and ablative armor, the material, when hit by the energy weapon reflects or absorbs (i.e. disintegrated) some of that energy, thereby reducing the effectiveness of the shot. As nice as energy weapons are, they still aren't as effective as kinetic weapons. -
I would say it's better if he gets the symbiote and gets rid of it in 1 movie. In the 2nd one, show the consequence of that (i.e. Venom). That way, you can have a beginning, middle, and end.
-
He could be Eddie Brock for most of the movie then be Venom at the very end. Kind of a lead in to the next movie. I too prefer the classic villans for the movies. The older ones appeal to the older fans.

Girls Bravo is licensed (if season 2 isn't, then you can be sure that it will be). If you're looking for fansubs, Animesuki.com. If you're looking for licensed stuff, go buy the DVD, otherwise, no we don't link to that stuff here (i.e. if we knew, ask for it in PM, not on the board).

See the parts on the hands? Perhaps they're an alternative to the combat knives... i.e. close-quarter combat weapons not stabbing but nothing like a good enhanced punch. Doubt the shield has a beam cannon. The beam cannon seems to be referring to the one in the palm of the hands. Gunota's translation doesn't state that specifically. I just guess it would since we've seen it a lot lately. Simply, Destiny is a combination of all the major points of Impulse (Force, Blast, Sword). Until the final specs come out or until we see it on screen, we will probably have to put the beam boomerangs on hold. I don't think they're beam sabers. The anti-ship sword can handle that function. IIRC, the final specs on Justice didn't come till near the end of SEED. At that time, the specs never listed the beam boomerangs it had in its shoulders (since the specs probably came from the model). The shoulders may well be boomerangs, they may be beam sabers or they may be nothing. Until we actually see Destiny in action, we will probably have to put those boomerangs on hold.
-
Invalidates beam weaponry....positron reflectors (that invalidates beam weapons, when turned on....) Why do I get the feeling that this thing has a minature positron gun on it... Oh and Destiny's weapons Humm...so it doesn't have beam boomerangs....
-
Yep. all the principal people are signed up for 3 movies. After that, all contracts have to be re-negotiated, if they still wish to use the same cast.

And one more spoiler (highlight to read): And some character profilings from Newtype: http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p...46&postcount=44

Seriously....never, ever do that again.

"2 Sith rule" http://www.starwars.com/databank/organizat...sith/index.html (only using the "movies" section) Agreed. The only way to get in the club is for one of the 2 members to die. Even the Jedi use a version of that rule. After a certain age, a master receives a Padawan and only 1 Padawan at any given time.

You haven't heard of Psyco Gundam? Forgot my thoughts about Episode 22....They mislabeled it as Phase-21....Scenes of Astrays getting cut apart were taken from the same scenes as when the Windams were getting sliced up...and at 00:21:11, Impulse became Strike......Geez the production crew is really taking shorcuts.

That could well apply to the Jedi as a whole... but I don't think so with the Jedi Council. What Mace admits to Yoda in AOTC is that the Jedi are losing their ability with the Force and wants to tell the Senate before Yoda disagrees. Dooku also tells Obi-Wan that Darth Sidious has "clouded their vision." Ultimately, it could depend just how long Palpatine was working his bad mojo in the Senate before the Naboo crisis. I would say a little from column A and a little from column B. Thanks to the revised Sith doctrine, the Sith remained only 2 active at any one time. 2 people in an entire galaxy would go by un-noticed in the sea of other races and the Jedi wouldn't notice their activities. When the Sith first get mentioned in Episode I, the first gut reaction is the Sith are not around and if they were, the Jedi would have done something. You could say the Jedi were drowning in their own arrogance. Then we have Palps. To make sure his rise to power goes quietly, he starts off in the Senate as a senator of a fairly insignificant planet. When he starts at the Senate, he starts to work his mojo. Most people would see him as ambitious and making his way up the ladder. And then he took the Senate's growing corruption and politics and made it work for him. All the pieces fell into place, Palps just took advantage of the situation. As for teh Jedi, all he would have to do is "cloud the vision" of the council and the rest would follow.

http://www.slyck.com/dc.php A few notes: Files....There isn't much Macross to share that people will dive in for. SDFM and M+ are licensed in the country where MW's server exist and I don't think we want Macrossworld to have it's name tagged with anybody who would be sharing licensed material. Also, what about the person who just wants a few things and doesn't have much to share? Mp3s are what most people go for and there only a few popular ones that usually get downloaded many times. And most of those are already on other P2P networks and other hubs. .NET framework - Current versions use it. Not that I'm bashing MS, it's usefulness or anything but.....it might not be a good idea to have additional baggage with your install of DC. Multi-source downloads - Still not supported by DC core development yet. This is a useful point to have as it does increase download speeds (like Bittorrent which uses Multi-source/swarming for downloading/uploading) at the cost of network performance. So your speeds are dependent on who you download from. Although there are mods for this, the standard client does not support it yet. We tried the whole IRC-channel-thing....Not enough people and not many people hung around. Not that a DC hub isn't a great idea, we just don't have a great amount to share that isn't already shared on other networks/apps.

"Wheel of Destiny"....umm not really. "Akatsuki" (literally) means "daybreak/dawn". So translation isn't quite correct.

I don't think it's his "certain point of view". He never owned R4 either. R4 was just the droid assigned to his fighter. Obi-wan answered exactly what Luke asked him. Did those droids belong to Obi-wan? No. And that's all he answered. Or because he wanted them alive and it wasn't necessary to shoot. And an angry Wookie is a nasty Wookie. Judging by what we've seen in the trailer and for those of use who've played Republic Commando, Wookies are can handle themselves in a close quarter situation.

Apparently he didn't get it in the last thread.....

Yeah, but Yoda doesn't bounce often. Only in times of need does Yoda pull out the Jedi viagra...like when he's fighting people who are near 7 ft in height or when lots and lots and lots of large seats are being thrown at him. I'm sure age does influence things. Even at the ripe age of 800-something-coming-up-on-900, Yoda is already using a cane. For Palp, the old geezer sat on his ass for most of those 20 years between III and IV. Why should he do anything when he could send a cripple to do an old man's job (let's face it, minus the artificial limbs and portable life support, Vader is a cripple). Standard funeral prye perhaps??? Do we even know if there was any organic material left in what Luke brought down with him? Also the disappearing act has something to do with the "Living Force" (think Qui Gon). It was the one thing they learned during those 20 years of solitude.

"Akatsuki no Kuruma".

The phrase was "neko-chan" (Little cat/kitten). Mu does use that word in GS to describe the sub they were hunting after leaving Africa. You'll find it if you look for Gundam Seed websites. The series is licensed so I won't link to those sites nor should you be asking them for it.

Whether or not Vader uses Lightning has yet to be spoiled. However, I do believe one of the scans from the Visual dictionary inidcates that the armored Vader cannot use Force Lightning due to the artificial limbs. Given the nature of it, he probably would fry the circuitry in his limbs if he tried to use lightning. Not to mention he's got external life support systems...if something bad happens, there goes the respirator. When he takes it in RoTJ, that was it. Let's face it, Luke had to drag his dad from the tower to the landing bay because silly Vader decided to grab a live wire (i.e. Palpatine) and ended up shorting most of his circuitry. I read somewhere on TFN (or millieumfalcon.com) that the droids who remade Grievous were the same ones who reconstructed Vader after the fight. One thing of interest on that scan of Vader is on the lower left corner: So Vader ain't the perfect Sith lord...hmmmm. How true that is....(RotJ)

Lunamaria mentions it as part of his service record in episode 7, and the Captain of the Minerva commented about him being reinstated to FAITH when he returns with Saviour. Not quite.....He was assigned to the squad under the Defense commitee during SEED. His orders came from the military head (Patrick Zala) or those in the tier below Zala, or what we would consider the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Basically, Athrun's orders came from ZAFT's command staff. Gil is more like the Prime Minister of PLANT. And since FAITH is under the direct control of the chairman of PLANT, his jurisdiction does not fall within ZAFT's jurisdiction. When Talia said Athrun was reinstated into ZAFT, it was more like, he was reinstated... under FAITH. The ZAFT regular army probably would never reinstate him under normal circumstances (He's been AWOL for 2 years). So to put him in FAITH, is more like a political appointment, so to speak.
-
Actually, FAITH has been around before the Chairman if Athrun knew about it before he was recurited. However, under jursidiction, the chain of command falls flat on the chairman. Which places him in a very interesting position. If you read the thread, many people have concluded that they are rumors from a Chinese BBS or from the kids at 2ch. The source on those previews cannot be verified so don't believe it. In fact, one of the few Japanese speakers there have picked up Shukan Shonen Magazine which has episode listings up to episode 27. Episode titles for eps 26-27, spoiler, highlight to read:
