Oh well. It's not the end of 2-D animation, but it is the end of all hand-only animation. These days, even 2D animation has some computer enhancement. It's hard to avoid it. I remember a few year ago I saw a guy take his hand-drawn pic and enhance it with Photoshop. It's hard to avoid taking hand-drawn work and run it through a computer these days. The only way you can do it is if you do actual paintings. There is a question in that. Have we come to the point where traditional hand-drawn work has reached its limit?

Fine, you want a non-RT related fact. I'll give you a recent urban legend. Myth: The SV-51 design inspiration is actually the F/A-18 Hornet, not the Su-27. Source: Fan observation that the SV-51 pulls many elements from a F/A-18. Reality: The SV-51 was indeed inspired from the Su-27. Early design sketches/lineart of the SV-51 show a distinct resemblence to the Su-27/Sukhoi design.

Here's a couple regarding the fold systems: Myth: SDF-1 can fold within a planet's gravity well which is why the Zentradi were shocked by SDF-1's apparent fold in Earth. Source: Robotech, episode 3 dialog. Truth: The Zentradi were shocked that Macross folded so close to the planet, endangering the surrounding area for no apparent reason. Myth: Folding causes temporal displacement. Source: Robotech, episode 11 dialog. Episode 29, Robotech Masters engage in fold operations and reappear in Episode 37, 15 years later at the far edge of the solar system. Truth: Folding causes no temporal displacement. This was done to explain parts of Robotech's plot.

The spoiler hack. http://mods.invisionize.com/db/index.php/f/3849 Bug Shawn for it. -
Okay gents, settle down. We don't need anybody calling fanboyism on anybody else. Not really. Destiny has the speed but Freedom has the manueverability. But Freedom has always had manueverability, I mean in both versions. Either way, it's a good match. Sorry, no more recap episodes. It appears we only have 8 more episodes to go (unless it switches to the 5PM timeslot permanently). The following is a mix from Bonbon and Animage (could be Animedia, still checking) magazines. I'm guessing some people have gotten this month's editions early since they don't seem to contridict the spoilers from Newtype (BTW, all of those month's magazines go on sale this week, I think). Thanks to the translators at AnimeSuki for this. I will retract if these are false, but they do seem to fit with what's been posted. Edit: Bonbon has been confirmed. Edit: Yzak's Gouf and Dearka's Zaku colors.

This I guess I can explain. Source: The designation on the VF Hikaru flew was VT-102. Fans associated VT with trainer. Additionally, the fighter was a 2-seater with Roy sitting in the back. Truth: The only notes on the VF-1D is that it is a 2-seat version. Nothing is denying that it can be used as a trainer, but a VT-1 exists to serve that purpose. Fallacy: SDF-2 was built near the damaged SDF-1. Source: Robotech; The command center run by Lisa was referred to as SDF-2. Which was hit in episode 36. Truth: SDF-2 Megalord was being constructed on the moon (pre-Megaroad). The command center that Misa was in charge of was the command center for the new UN Spacy.

Newtype spoilers, ep. 43-46 (not confirmed yet. I'll retract them if they turn out to be false) Comments: A few other translations of ep. 45 indicate that ZAFT forces are to perform a suicide run if necessary to destroy Requiem. I'm guessing this is the colony laser equivilent from Zeta. There are a few reports that Requiem is guarded by a few Destroys and I'm sure the bulk of EA's forces are now guarding Requiem. About ep. 46, how would Meer know how to contact AA/Eternal? In any case, she's got nowhere to run to since Lacus comes on TV with Cagalli in Ep. 44. Dullindal has no more use of her.

Macross Plus Character Triangle Question
azrael replied to DeathHammer's topic in Movies and TV Series
Yes. Can't remember if they were together. Isamu and Myung were just having a heart-to-heart talk when the incident happened. Did Guld have feelings for Myung? Obviously. Refer to my previous statement. Did he snap? Yes. It's unclear. But Guld did physically assault her (He threw her into the dresser and ripped her shirt, but beyond that, is unclear). Yes. Again, we don't know if it was rape. But he did believe Isamu assaulted her. -
Source: Fans who don't remember the show that much. Roy was actually shot by squad of Q-Raus. And ONE of those QRaus was Millia. From there Milia had to have fired the fatal shot, because only the best zentradi pilot could hit the most-experienced human pilot. It's silly, of course. Even in TV people don't have an aura that repels bullets shot by someone of lesser skill. 318124 Millia engaged Max and stuck with him. She never broke off. So she never hit Roy. Watch it.

Source: Fans who don't remember the show that much. Roy was actually shot by squad of Q-Raus. Source: Wishful thinking. Almost as bad as Basara is the love child of Hikaru and Minmay. This is based on the fact that Basara's parents were never mentioned.

I remember messing with a 1/60 Freedom a bit and it seemed more like a bigger version of an HG. The shoulders didn't swing forward like they do on the 1/100 Strike. It didn't have an internal frame either. 318097 Yeh, now that I think about it, it is more HG than MG (this is what happens when I don't look at them for years). But there were some things that were on the 1/60s that were not on the 1/100s yet found on the MGs. I'll say this, it's a HG kit with more detail.
-
No. The 1/60 Strike Freedom is considered a HG/MG kit, not a PG kit. If it was a PG kit, it would say so. The 1/60 kits are usually around the level of a MG kit with a few more parts but with the details of a HG kit.

Tigh is has a confidence issue. I guess that stems back from his days when he was kicked out of the Fleet. Part of command is you've got to make tough choices, whether it be killing a few to save the many or making the wrong choice. But more than that, you have to live with the consequences. Tigh doesn't know how to live with the consequences. That's when he turns to the bottle. That's when he starts listening to that wife of his. Another side effect is that Tigh is not diplomatic. He's been a XO for a while. A "Yes-man". He still has a rough time making those choices and living with the consequences. I don't see it that way. Apollo isn't betraying his father. He listened to his father this time. Apollo followed his instincts, just as his father told him. If that means taking an opposite stance, then so be it. Betraying the man is one thing, betraying the ideals of that man is another. Adama gave them a sense of hope when he told them that they would head to Earth. But with no end in sight, and people dying, that hope is fading. This is where Roslin comes in. Someone has to keep that hope alive, keep the flame buring of else you let the flame die and the lights go out.

The battle between SF and Destiny, of course Kira didn't pwned Destiny. It didn't last long enough. But to catch the sword with the palm of your hands, trust me, that's not a easy move and there is a certain degree of risk when doing that. As I said, Kira's move makes Shinn look like a newb...when using style on the battlefield.

Comment about Episode 42: Funny thing, those Jedis... they have a way with showing up when you least want them to and unlike the Dark Lords of the Sit...ZAFT, they have discovered the key to immortality. And Kira's way to show that Shinn is still a newb:

That would be mine. The Tungsten T5. And it doesn't have integrated Wi-fi. I should know...I had to get the NIC for it. The current hi-end Palm model is the LifeDrive. It's definitely a high-end device. It does have integrated Wi-Fi but the big thing is the 4GB hard drive in it. Where other PDAs have expansion slots for more storage space, you don't really need it with the LifeDrive.

Don't know yet. We'll see after part II of the Zeta movies comes out. MG Freedom (Shiny ver) looks tempting. Only because I'm too chicken to open my original MG Freedom. Dang it, why did it have be hard to find...oh wait...Hobby Link has it back in stock. *Makes order* So....any other stuff that comes with that Mk II ver. 2 besides the display stand, like say...improvements? -
PDAs with GPS look like they cost 400+ I think most Bluetooth GPS receivers cost about $100 US so a $300 PDA + $100 and you may as well get one that comes with it. But it really depends on what PDA you get. The Dell Axim X50v is a good unit. But I don't think you need all of that. An Axim X50 (no "v") would probably fill your needs. It does come in 2 flavors. The $340 version comes with a faster processor and a built-in wireless NIC. The $250 is a tad slower and omits the wireless. Both have Bluetooth so you can get a GPS receiver later. I currently use a Palm Tungsten T5. Battery life is great. Only shortcoming is no built-in Wi-Fi NIC. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it. Works as USB drive, 256MB of RAM, lightweight.

Lovely, more stuff to add to my shopping list for this month... which was carried over from last month, and the previous month, and the month before that...and the month before that..... -
And you wonder why I try to avoid real-world thought in my answers and just stick to and interpret what the good book says. As I said, reactors in Macross don't quite work the way we think they do due to Overtechnology. The process is similar to fusion, but doesn't say that it is fusion. It is intentionally vague on the point, and that's how I'll answer it it. Does it produce radioactive byproducts? It may produce a little, it may produce zero. But obviously, it's nothing to get excited about.

It is a custom. It looks like a kit bash of Destiny, Sword Impulse, Blast Impulse, and a whole bunch others.
