I think we went into this a while back. Cost and effectiveness of beam weapons doesn't quite match that of your standard projectile weapons.

Zeta (movies and TV) is a sequel to Mobile Suit Gundam and takes place about 7 years since MSG (hence, UC 0087). The movies are a retelling of the original TV series. so you can watch either the movies or the TV series to stand in for Zeta....well maybe....*looks at Zeta III*

Well that's 1 way to get Baltar away from the fleet. Probably kept them where he could keep an eye on them...in the brig. I'm sure they'll address that next season. The answer is with Baltar. When Cloud 9 blew up, we saw how Baltar treated it. Instead of thinking about security, he wanted them to settle down. The duty is too the people, but you are suppose to keep these people alive. simply, the hope of a new planet was a short-sighted hope. Kinda like feeling a rush, then coming out of it. They could have used this planet as a rest stop. Catch their breath, get some supplies, restock on some provisions they lost with when Cloud 9 and the surrounding ships went up in flames and then get moving. But no, they settled. I'm sure they had enough to keep them going. But considering they barely anyone who could process it or even keep the ships running, they probably left it on the back-burner.

That would have been the saddest excuse of a scene ever...Pegasus would be pwned before I finish this sentence....It won't even be laughable. Considering the skeleton crews on each ship, the time it took for them to just be combat ready, and the useless effort it would have been for them to launch fighters.... Well, now we know where most of the budget for next year will go.... Location shots are even worst than set shots. They also cost more money. If Moore didn't complain about the budget enough this season, I can't wait till next season where I'll hear it in every podcast.

You should listen to the podcasts.....I think Moore has cited the budget once every other episode. Just last week, (as noted previously), they were planning on using the Cylon Heavy Raider for the jumping sequence but they didn't have money to build a set for it. He even responded to a question about the Marines equipment they use on his blog. Why do the Marines use the same equipment each time we see them? Because of the budget. They can't afford to rent or buy new equipment so they reuse stuff every time. Why not more shots of the Centurions? Can't afford it. They try to fit in more shots but I don't think they have the money for it. I'm sure there would be more shots of various ships...if they could afford it.
