  2. Yes. There will be a 2nd release of SF Full Burst later this year, minus the action base from what I hear.
  3. Well, if you want it....you'll have to build it yourself. But there is the book: http://ga.sbcr.jp/news/0612/069/index.html
  4. The size varies from show to show, mecha to mecha, part to part, person to person. Colors? Most common is the kite within a red circle. There is also the kite within the gray circle.
  5. I still fail to see how a defrag would help an avatar problem..... I would try Opera over IE. Also, have you tried uninstalling Firefox and deleting the your Firefox user profile? (save your bookmarks and anything important) You can find your Firefox profile in (with WinXP) C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\ This will take out all of your settings, cache, cookies, history, blah blah blah and bookmarks ((save your bookmarks and anything important). Re-install Firefox and see if that helps.
  6. Use the newbie thread next time for quick questions.
  7. They showed the slits there? Oh well, it's been years since I've seen DYRL.
  8. Yes. SDFM = Slits. DYRL = no slits. Yammies are based off the DYRL designs. Very simple.
  9. 16mm is probably the more used standard for animation (and many many many other productions, although, I'm leaning toward something between 8-16mm). Overall, HD would only be ideal for more current shows (late 1990s till now). It's hard to say with older series.
  10. Not necessarily. We just may not have seen in SDFM. The instance we saw Hikaru in training, he was training in a VF-1J. We never saw his initial training. Just because the focus is not on that, doesn't mean it wasn't there. Actually...that was the reason.
  11. We said that earlier in this thread. Just like it being show during the Cannes Festival.....as in the Cannes Marketplace, which is venue for license buyers and not necessarily part of the actual competition.
  12. No idea. Talk to the people who did the cel coloring. http://macross.anime.net/story/chronology/...0000/index.html
  13. 1. Yes, thanks to 4chan, we get to explain what that means...It means nothing...it's just rambling from 4chan. 2. No. IIRC, Jetfire was redesigned in current toy lines. 3. Only among some of his current works, but that remains to be seen as this trend is only within the past 5 years. Arjuna comes to mind with strong environmental themes. 4. Some thought it was good, some thought it was horrible. 5. Mostly mild. not good, but not bad. The movie was a straight transfer from the VHS.... 6. That's up to you. It's a different telling of the OAV.
  14. The movies override nothing. The Zeta movies are a separate entity from the Zeta->ZZ->CCA version of the story. If Tomino wishes to continue with his retelling of Zeta, how he will do it is up to him.
  15. Try now. PS: your boinger5 account will go away upon receipt of this message.
  16. Because, IMO, many people don't understand how or why multiple continuities exist for a series. They get confused and blah blah blah. They'll try to make it fit even if it's an alternate telling of the same story. Which is why I mentioned if we stick with the TV series of Zeta, ZZ is fine. If you go by the movies, then well, there's gonna be a problem. Reminds me of Ghost in the Shell. There are 3 different versions, the manga, the movies and Stand Alone Complex. I think I heard a conversation once of somebody trying to explain how SAC worked with the movies.....
  17. Now that I think about it, we should probably clarify Bandai/Sunrise, being Sunrise the the Japanese animation studio under Bandai.... Also, the boxset rule appears to apply to the western markets. The Japanese market is somewhat different with Gundam. Especially since the MSG boxset is #8(overall) and #1(weekly) on Oricon's sales charts. And on average, Gundam titles are usually in the top 10 of animation sales for about a month. Also, IIRC, Bandai (USA) stated that the individual Zeta discs would come after the boxsets came out before the boxsets hit the streets.
  18. ZZ would be gone or significantly altered if Tomino were to continue the movie timeline (Again, this is why it is called "A New Translation"). If we stick to the TV series (MSG, Zeta), then ZZ could stay, but if we look at the MSG movies, then the Zeta movies, then to CCA, we have a problem with ZZ.
  19. Nope. Besides the fact that it aired during the peak of the transforming toys era, nope, there really isn't any significance to it. Technically, yes, only due to the legal issue. However, SDFM is unique because of the legal issues. Back when it was being produced, the studio involved with the series did not have the capital to complete the series as is, and such, they went to Tatsunoko to help back the series. This lead to the current problem we face today. It is unique that it is one of the few, if any, to experience the legal issues that it faces. I won't say it is a "victory" since there has been a desire to bring over lots of old anime to the current market. However, the dated look is hard to sell among newer fans. RT is more aligned with Western fascination with mecha anime. However, should you go to the Philippines or some Asian countries outside of Japan, they saw Macross in it's non-RT form. Most animes on TV are still considered a children's genre. It is that, over time, RT gained a cult following as those people who watched it as children grew up. Depends on which era you are talking about. For some, it could be Evangelion, others, Gundam Wing and others, Macross Plus. Again, depends on the era. Also, a live-action Macross was thought about, however, studio interest has died since it was thought about. Unfortunately, historical significance may run into problems as who is your target audience. Look at Transformers. If you wish to dive more into this topic, a new thread may be better.
  20. Well, they won't have said it if they were not close or otherwise not going to get it. IIRC, they said they were in negotiations at AX2006 only because the last movie was not in theaters yet in Japan. This would indicate to me that as soon as the last movie went to Japanese theaters, then the contract would be settled. Which would also mean that movie I and II were set in stone already and that III was just waiting for the Japanese opening.
  21. Yes it has been confirmed (how many times must i mention this). Bandai announced it at AX2006. In addition to screening it at the Chicago Film Festival back in September. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...st&p=453763
  22. Unfortunately, the world doesn't work this way. Call it a trend but most Gundam shows have had a toy or model line that comes with it. If the show doesn't attract viewers or produce a marketable merchandise line, the chances of it staying on TV or coming out on DVD goes down. The line between what fans want and what can produce a profit only stretches so far. People often forget that companies, like Bandai/Sunrise need to be able to make a profit and attract an audience, or their value goes down, sharply.
