  1. That's because Yutaka Izubuchi did the lineart, not Hajime Katoki. Hi Nu will be based on Izubuchi's drawings.
  2. I don't see another AI-based story in Macross because it's already been done in M+. And I agree that a story like this might be better in Ghost in the Shell.
  3. Finally got around to watching it. It was good. Although, for some reason, Craig's look doesn't feel right. He's got the attitude and everything, but the face just feels dirty....

  10. Actually there are very few threads on the matter (most M+ threads involve the difference between the movie and OAV editions, which, if anybody ask, will end this thread in a very quick lock). M+ was all eye candy. That's pretty much it.
  11. Which one? Jun Okuda Junichi Akutsu (BEE-Craft) Kazumi Fujita Koichi Ohata (MII mecha supervisor)
  12. ... mkay.... *raises hand* All in favor of exiting this topic gracefully with more Spongebob jokes, say "Aye".
  13. Don't look at me either.
  14. Since the chances of running into a Zentradi fleet are fairly high, and since many can persuaded to enter into negotiations via the "Minmei Effect", this is a logical solution. When M7 encountered a Meltrandi fleet, the first attempt to cease fire was to send out Fire Bomber. Didn't quite go as plan since Mylene wasn't "persuasive" enough. Although they did respond very well to Basara, so it all worked out in the end. Someone once said, “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”
  15. I think Noyhauser is saying what most of us are thinking. Please use the search function next time. And search the Newbie thread. And yes, the VF-17 uses a passive stealth system. This is clearly stated in the Compendium (Also, please read the Compendium) http://macross.anime.net/mecha/united_nati...vf17/index.html
  16. Whether it be a toy or some animation...it's gonna get our money...Graham knows something is up and looks like we gotta torture it outta him.
  17. It's legit...or as close to working legit (granted, the scene might look different come May 2007). It's the same shot that was in the ComiCon footage.
  18. Everything I've heard suggest (Spoiler highlight to read) that Venom is definitely part of THIS movie. His appearence will affect more of the middle thru the end of the movie. His development was very closely guarded by Raimi, the VFX guys and the writers to deflect any talk of Venom. (End spoiler) This is also the last movie for which the lead actors and Raimi are contracted for. After this, everybody is open to renegotiate their contract for more or less movies.
  19. I thought I heard of another trailer coming next year close to opening day. That last sequence is definitely from the ComiCon footage.
  20. From what I see, callsigns usage in anime (and some shows I have seen) are not really like the callsign usage in the US. We rarely see Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell, or Lee 'Apollo' Adama. It's not Char 'The Red Comet' Aznable. It's Char Aznable - 'The Red Comet'. And it's not Sousuke 'Uruz 7' Sagara, it's Sousuke Sagara- 'Uruz 7'. We don't see Roy 'Skull Leader' Focker. It's Roy Focker - 'Skull Leader' Andrew Waltfeld - 'Desert Tiger' not Andrew 'Desert Tiger' Waltfeld Himura Kenshin - 'Hitokiri Battousai' or 'Himura Battousai', not Himura 'Hitokiri Battousai' Kenshin .... The usage leans more as a designation or as a distinct name as oppose to a nickname. In M7, Gamlin's callsign was "D-3", then "D-2", "D-1/D-Leader". I'm gonna agree with sketchley, it's too confusing for kids programming to have so many unique callsigns. It's better to use callsigns in a designation fashion (Red-5, Rogue Leader, Uruz-6, Skull-10, D-2, blah blah blah) or use the names separately. In G.I. Joe, we rarely hear them use anything BUT their callsigns throughout the series.
  21. Didn't HG try to market a DYRL? design once?
  22. Yeah, that sounds about right. Yamato would have to market it as a model kit for any VF-1. HG's license only applies to SDFM which they obtained from Tatsunoko (I should say Takara now since they bought Tatsunoko).
  23. Debate thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=153 And yes, DYRL? has many holders. Each waiting for the other to make a new move. M7? If you are willing to fork over the money for 1 episode, I hope you have more of where that came from because the Japanese music companies is no better than the US music companies.
