  1. You know what? This talk is nice and all but it has zero to do with "Macross 25". Until someone has either news or you have some actual comments on "Macross 25", I'm locking this thread until further notice. Anybody who has information about Macross 25 will need to send me a PM (private message) and I will reopen this thread. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO START A NEW THREAD ABOUT MACROSS 25. I WILL DELETE THAT THREAD. If you want to start a topic about the future and direction of Macross, be my guest. And just so we don't forget about this thread, I am pinning it up. This is my final warning. No more thread derailments. Talk only about "Macross 25" or 25th Anniversary events and nothing else.
  2. So you're tellin me he's gonna get it on....with a poster...I don't think I wanted to know that. PS: Yes, it's just another animator in-joke.....
  3. People actually voted for Hyaku Shiki???? Didn't the non-plated version + ballute system already tip them off???? The Guntank has been talked about so it's not as if Bandai isn't listening. V Gundam has always been a problem, IMHO. #1 is popularity. #2 is the infamous core-block and transformation system stability. As much as it may be a popular design, it inherits the problems of its predecessors with that core-block and transforming parts.
  4. I think you are reading it wrong. Pay attention to the context of the statement "...At the October this year,...start of television broadcasting..." which means it should be read as it's been a quarter century since SDFM came on the air back in October of 1982. Hence the quote from (Bad Google Machine Translation).
  5. Nope. After running it through a translator, the title is still marked as temporary. Although, it does seem the official working title is "Macross 25".
  6. Besides that 1 interview, which was mostly about the 25th anniversary, nothing else has come out. And why is there talk of M7 in this thread? Cuz people keep comparing it to M7 when chances are, that it will not be like M7, or M+, or M0, or SDFM, DYRL?, or even MII.....Heck, I'd compare it to Aquarion or Eureka 7 than I would any other Macross series. So no more talk of M7 unless there a point to it which directly concerns "Macross 25" (which so far, it hasn't). Otherwise, please use one of the many existing threads. So it has a Autumn air date.... *please let it not be on the same day as Gundam 00* *please let it not be on the same day as Gundam 00* *please let it not be on the same day as Gundam 00*
  7. And we've had our fair share of those over the years. Heck, the only "facts" we have about "Macross 25" can probably be counted on only 1 hand.
  8. Non-bootleg copies of M0 do not exist. Due to mostly ongoing licensing issues, no Macross series has been licensed in North America since Macross Plus. If you want a DVD copy, you will need to find the fansubs and burn those to a DVD.
  9. Based off. It's hard to say what was adapted and what was not since we have no idea what the Varauta production facilities were like. The Varauta-series share similar* power plants and transformations (and possibly some interior framework) to their UN counterparts, but that's where the UN design ends and the Varauta design begins. http://macross.anime.net/mecha/varauta/variable/Fz109.html http://macross.anime.net/mecha/varauta/var...z130/index.html http://macross.anime.net/mecha/varauta/variable/FBz99.html *I use "similar" in the vague sense.
  10. That was from me, in the newbie thread. However, no official explanation was ever given.
  11. No. We don't have an air date yet. The official announcement is during the August 18th 25th-anniversary concert.
  12. So...Joker messes with his old suit and he adopts this one huh?
  13. Many people on this board are too old for the target demographic. As for wanting to do something new....he's said that many times that each Macross does things just a bit different from the rest. This ain't your daddy's Macross.
  14. I'll just link this since it's too much to list. Gunota translation Original article w/ pics I'm liking the designs for Exia (Strike), Dynames (Buster), and Kyrios (Aegis)...Virtue feels like The O. Virtue's pilot....someone wanna check that translation and make sure it refers to a "he" and not a "she".
  15. Besides it being clearly marked as fake?
  16. Caprica is looking at 2008, and RDM and David Eick have enough on their plate until next year so I don't think we'll be hearing anymore for a while.
  17. Remember these are rough sketches, not actual drawings. Things can change in the final design The battroid seems to be following an Aquarion/M0/Eureka 7 feel to it. The heads (hero/cannon fodder heads) remind me more of those series so that looks seems to be where we're heading. It looks like he wants to separate the feet from the main engines ala-the-VF-22 but that could change. The fighter design-direction reminds me more of a VF-5000. It looks like a modern VF-5000-ish design with both fighter and battroid mode. I wonder if he's gonna stay in that direction.
  18. All signs point to no.
  19. That's more than I was expecting...I was expecting only a page or less.... Judging by how the SV-51 started and how it ended up, I won't put much with those sketches either. Although, it would be nice to see what direction he's going in.

  21. OAVs in general have declined over the years since OAVs get less press time compared to TVs or movies. Erratic release times, buying something that no one has seen beyond promotional material,... etc. Chances of a show airing on TV are greater. Chances of a net OAV are greater these days now, but still lower than a TV or movie release. M0 took almost a year to come out from start to finish. To keep interest going, people have to be reminded of it and a OAV can't do if it has an erratic release schedule.
  22. You know, it's kinda amazing that lot of people still have trouble realizing this. SDFM was made for kids in the 80s. M+/M7 for kids of the 90s, now we have this new show made for kids of today.
  23. Remeber, Hikaru was only 16 years old at the start of SDFM, so teens in Macross are not uncommon. Also, it could be read as the story is being taken from the POV of a teenager.
