  1. Ummmm, nah. We already know the relevant stuff about Roy...What more could M0 add? Shin? Like what else do you want to know? His favorite food? And how does that play into M0's story? Oh heck no. Both sides are way too big. He buries Aries and is reassigned to SDF-1???? The time between M0 and SDFM is pretty short (less than a year gap) http://macross.anime.net/story/chronology/1999/index.html They surrendered? Because it was a testbed? http://macross.anime.net/mecha/united_nati.../vf0/index.html The VF-0 can be summed up as a stop-gap fighter. Since the VF-1's engines were not ready, they could not deploy the VF-1. So the VF-0 was introduced as a proof-concept of a combat-ready VF design. The VF-1 was being mass-produced at the time. The VF-0 was not intended to be a permanent solution to the UN's VF problem, but the UN wasn't going to let it go to waste so they used it to test (and combat-test) out everything that would be in at future designs.
  2. Guess we have to wait for a flashback now to see the older generation's powers. I wanted to see what Sulu could do....
  3. This is very true. RDM always mentioned constraints due to the budget he gets in almost every podcast. They cut corners (literally too... ) during production to keep the show running. This is part of the reason the Pegasus set had to go to make way for the Basestar set. They can barely afford the rent on 2 sets. 3 sets would break the bank. With ad revenue and DVD sales, BSG cannot compete with the major network shows.
  4. Not quite...The Zentradi rebelled due to the fact that oversight over them reduced substantially during the war. Losing 85% of the republic in one year from the war reduced the influence Protoculture had on the Zentradi. It's more akin to cutting the master's chain around their necks since the master doesn't care enough anymore. When Protoculture tried to get them back, or "culture" them as you put it, it didn't work. They were doing fine on their own so why go back. If Protoculture said otherwise, they got a gun shoved down their throats.
  5. Ummm, no. You are missing my point. Even Mr. March got it. Why are you insisting on "shoe horning" MII into the Studio Nue continuity? It doesn't belong there. Like the kid who tries to compare apples and oranges, it doesn't work. You can argue that the Marduk are the SA or protoculture but you are limited to SDFM/DYRL/MII. MII doesn't work in the SDFM/DYRL/M+/M7/MD7/M0/MF world because it doesn't belong there. It's another universe. The SA in the Studio Nue-continuity isn't the Marduk. This ain't a multiple-choice.
  6. Ummm, OK. What I don't understand is how the Marduk even got into this conversation. As far as the continuity is concerned, the Marduk don't exist (or have yet to be presented) within the Studio Nue-continuity. It's like some people here are talking about Gundam Wing within the UC timeline. It doesn't work. It won't work and you really shouldn't try to make it work or you'll give everybody a nasty headache if you do. If you are going to talk about the SDFM/DYRL->MII path, please continue that path. But if you are going to follow the Studio Nue-timeline, please stay on that path, because you people are mixing 2 universes that shouldn't be mixed.
  7. TVs are going to continually go down in price. Get it now or later, 3 months later, the price will go down. Right now, the rush isn't on to get new TVs as we still have till Feb. 2009 to switch to HDTVs. But if you really can't wait....
  8. Have you gone through these? http://www.ultimateslr.com/memory-card-recovery.php
  9. Just in time for Christmas. Guess the design became complicated enough to change it to a MG.
  10. Moved to an appropriate locale. This has become less about Macross and more how-to-beat ACE 3. Anyways, continue.
  11. Yes, all those Destroids and VF-1s were civilian owned. And yes, think about what people do to their cars....
  12. Meh. It ain't Macross anyways so I really don't care. The RT crowd can call it Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious-tech and I won't care cuz it ain't Macross.
  13. Very true. Considering that the autumn schedule would have been prepared by March/April, that would probably have cut out Macross for this upcoming season. The audition was back during that time so with no show ready for the upcoming season, no reason the schedule it. And with Satelight working on KISSDUM, there's not much choice in the matter. Either short change both series or let them finish on their own schedule. If we are looking at a full year-long series, it's probably for the best.
  14. I think this is for the best. With Gundam 00 being split into 2 seasons, it's probably for the best that Macross F not start until Gundam 00 is coming to an end.
  15. Yeh, I can't make heads or tails of the machine translation. We need a translator. Well, being in 2008/2009 gives breathing room from Gundam 00.
  16. Or, you could have read the Compendium: http://macross.anime.net//mecha/united_nat.../vf0/index.html
  17. DYRL?, firstly, is a retelling of SDF Macross (our real world). Secondly, there is a movie within the Macross universe called DYRL?, which looks almost like our real-world DYRL?. Therefore, in the Macross universe, they Roy you see in DYRL? is not the real Roy Focker, but an actor. It all depends on who's point-of-view we are looking at. If we are looking at it from our real-world POV, then that is indeed, the one, the only, Roy Focker, who dies in this retelling of SDFM. If we look at it as a character in the Macross universe, then that is not Roy Focker, but just some actor who portrays him in this movie called DYRL?.
  18. Books were no good. So here are screen caps. Unfortunately, the light source is behind M13 so I cannot guarantee the actual hue or intensity of the colors. In fact, I even had to brighten the screencaps (i.e. the violet may be more red, the arms may be dark grey/blue, etc).
  19. http://www.filmjerk.com/news/article.php?id_new=521 I don't see RT in that list so chances are, RT will not start until after the potential strike deadline in June 2008.
  20. No. That would be Iron Monger/Obadiah Stane.
  21. It's suppose to be Iron Monger/Obadiah Stane. The Mandarin maybe lurking the the shadows (i.e. sequel) but AFAIK, it's Iron Monger.
  22. Your avatar = 324.58 KB Rules and upload page say 200 KB. Please reduce the quality or size of your avatar.
  23. No. Why should they be? Let me say this again, this is Robotech not Macross. Big West has nothing to do with Robotech. A lot of people are failing to see the legal (and possibly creative) distinction. RT may be using Macross footage, but it's still RT, not Macross.
  24. Yes. My point was, where did this talk of DYRL? come in. Two years is probably a good estimate. If they finish a studio ready script by the end of the year, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to be made right then. WB might just buy up the script and sit on it. Then comes the issue of shopping for a director, cast, SFX house, etc. Look at Halo. Universal and Fox backed out because they weren't sure about it. If WB doesn't think they can get money back from this, you can bet they'll sit on it.
  25. "pilot film"? I guessing not enough sequences animated???? Yeh, I'm starting to look more and more to 2008 than October.
