I prefer, the "wait-and-see" approach.

Because things have a tendency to change on us in Macross. And I'm not saying you are wrong but if something in there changed, then your efforts were just wasted. But if you want to add it, go ahead.

The dialogue said "It's him.". That's wrong. An easy wrong. Even with my extremely limited Japanese, I heard him clearly say "Kathy?". I thought I also heard other words in other spots as well that were not in the dialogue. There were a few problems with episode 1, but I'll save that for the episode 1 thread. But this has "speed sub" written all over it.

The hospital scene... Ozma recognized Kathy, not Alto.

Gattai uses a container format from Matroska. It's kind of a all-in-one codec. Linky. The funny thing is, although it's used a lot now, development has been discontinued on the container format.

Yes it is Alto. Alto's character description tells us that he comes from a kabuki theater background. And from the OP, one can take a good guess at what his role was.

What about a railgun or linear gun? VFs do generate a large amount of energy. That energy could be used to power a railgun or linear gun. Linear guns seem to be popular in Gundam right now.

A "sharpshooter" or "marksman" usually works with a regular unit and provides long-range support. Snipers usually act independently (normally with an observer/spotter) with a specific objective. The traditional term for "sniper" is "assassin". Mikhail's role is more support which is why I would lean toward "sharpshooter". But these days, "sharpshooter" and "sniper" are used interchangeably.

It might be best to wait for the Macross Chronicle.

Alto's personality isn't that he wants to buck authority (although, you might consider it that), but he wants to be free of restraints. He was born into the kabuki tradition, but he didn't want to do kabuki theater. He wanted to fly higher, but the dome held him back. He wanted to pull off some cool moves, but the performance producers changed the program and wanted a simpler program. Every time he wanted to do his own thing, something held him back. It bothers him a lot apparently.

It only affects those networks listed. MBS, TBS and everybody else not listed, is on normal schedule (that means the 1st airing, on MBS is back to Thursdays @ 25:25).

Of course...Milia is Zentradi. Who knows how well they age.... especially into their 60s or 70s.

If you don't want to be spoiled, don't read the thread(s). And checking torrent sites daily after the episode airs would alleviate this issue. Also reading the first post of the episode thread(s) would also alleviate the issue and I do post links to Rapidshare/Megaupload files as I see 'em for users not wanting to use Bittorrent. In fact, I just added the links for the Gattai sub of episode 1, in the episode 1 thread. Patience is a virtue. As for codec problems, we have a pseudo-Computer Support thread. Translations and sub groups? Every group is gonna do their translation a bit different from the others. I say pOtato, you say potAto. Unless you call the VF-25, "Brief 25", then we have problems. As for names, the Macross Compendium is a great place to get as close as we can get to proper name translations.

You have no idea how much we can nit-pick just 1 episode. I mean this is talking about a Macross series in a place called Macross World. But this pales in comparison to our nitpicking of the toys (Look at the Toy section). Anyways, feel free to bring this up to the Feedback section. Let's get back to episode 2 discussion.

1) Heat? Possible. Better forgrip? Yeh. Make it look cool? Sure. It can collapse for fighter mode. 2) It looked like the knife came from the left arm. Where? Can't tell. 3) I prefer the term "sharpshooter" over sniper. And VFs are all-environment so who's to say they shouldn't have a sharpshooter.

Concerning spoilers Best thing to do if you wish to remain completely spoiler free is to not read this or similar threads, at all. I could have a permanent spoiler ban but that's even more annoying. I have no schedule on when subbers release episodes. If some people take a week to release a sub, do you expect me to hold a spoiler ban for a week? What if it takes 2, or 3 or 4 weeks. I'm not going to hold a spoiler ban that long. Lots of people here have already watched it raw or read Random Curiousity's blog for a summary. Having lots of threads is really redundant and gives the mods just more threads to watch. The best thing to do is just stick to the 1st post. I'll try to update it more often. Oh and now would be a good time to avoid this thread cuz the spoiler ban ended about an 2 hours ago.
