  1. I prefer this translation of the last line kresphy postedas opposed to a Babelfish: It would be nice to see the full article.
  2. Strike Rouge is identical to Strike. Just look for a review of Strike. Now for an upcoming models image flood. 3. Let's see... Watched Robotech back in the day when it was still on TV. Discovered the RT RPG about 5+ years later and learned about Macross, Southern Cross and Mospeada. Since I couldn't see the original Macross, I moved on to MII. That lasted a while with the RPG books. Then I found M+ and found that to be bleh. Obtained a copy of DYRL? raw shortly thereafter. Then I heard about M7 through friends and various people. After that, I slowly started watching M7 raw and became hooked. About that time, I discovered the Compendium back when Egan was at UC Berkeley. So I think I was well versed in Macross before I the 'Net came along. There was also a Jetfire and a few other toy knockoffs but I really don't remember when those came into my life.
  4. I think he's just teasing the article writer/reader.
  5. Umm yeh, we know.
  6. Jeebus....can they hurry up with the the VF-1 already? We're never gonna be done with that VF...
  7. 0 Riser (our new GN Arms). Technically a toy ad but it's appeared in the TV commercial spots so expect to see it in the show really soon. And yes, the show is taking Code Geass R2's spot on the schedule so it starts on this Sunday (10/5) at 5PM/17:00 JST (that's 1AM PST/4AM EST or 12AM PST/3AMEST after Daylight savings).
  8. With all the other shows on Mondays, it's kinda hard to compete.
  9. You could have said she was a street fighter/brawler and got the same meaning.
  10. 25-episode series is actually the norm these days.
  11. Okay kids, let this thread go back to sleep until we get some actual news about a live action Robotech movie.
  12. I don't recall the specs ever listing the ammo count on the 19's or 21's gunpods. I always thought that was a RPG thing.
  13. Unfortunately, we have a certain bias on this board.
  14. You sure it wasn't done off screen and it wasn't just put off to the side?
  15. You sure it wasn't done off screen and it wasn't just put off to the side?
  16. Bingo. It's probably just important to know that Sheryl ended up on Galaxy.
  17. If you're coming up with all this stuff for fan fics, how about using the fanworks section?
  18. The VB-6 took 2 hits. Hit #1, port side arm cannon barrels: Hit #2, port side foot:
  19. Bleh. I still have Macross goodies coming so it ain't over for me. And with Gundam 00's second season coming up this weekend, I only get a week to get ready for that.
  20. Half Pack. Super Pack costs Kawamori too much. OR:
  21. Guess it's my turn at this. Animation: 8 The animation inconsistencies bugged me but it still looked good (-1). The CG worked out really well for this show (+1). Being a TV show let me be a bit more lenient but then again, being a TV show means money can't be poured in every episode unless there was some major backers (that instantly made it a 9 to start). And since this being pumped out weekly of which mistakes have to be corrected in the DVD/Blu-Ray, that did factor into it (-1). Voice Acting/Actors: 6 None of the this really jumped out at me (-5). Megumi Nakajima was decent for a first-timer (+1). Script/Story/Plot: 7 I wanted it to be bit longer (-1). Like Shouta said, one thing I liked about M7 was the day-to-day view of the characters. The format didn't allow for this and I do wish it would have. (-1). I do wish that more time was spent on things like Cathy and Ozma digging into Grace and Leon's conspiracy, more about 117th fleet or Macross Galaxy, instead of getting only glimpses (-1). Directing/Editing:8 Action sequences were well done. I think some of the character moments could have been handled a bit better. I didn't like the clip-show. As informative as the clip show was, it was still a clip-show. There's a point where fan-service became a bit unnecessary. The last episode did feel a little crammed but I would say it worked. Characters: 7 Good but nothing that stood out (-3). I would have liked to see more day-to-day activities ("Miss Macross" was one of my favorite episodes). I didn't find Ranka annoying or Alto dense (Hikaru is the Girl-dense-King) or etc.. But then again, I wanted to see some more development among the characters. Marketing: 9 Things have been selling out. That's a good sign. But that's a problem, things sold out (I'm looking at you 1/72 model). And we got a movie coming. Music: 8 Hated "Trianguler". Maaya Sakamoto's voice just doesn't work for me. "Lion" was a better song but the animation usage (compared to the first OP theme) could have been better. The Ranka songs were cute at first but not really something I would really like to listen to all the time. It wasn't until "Ao no Eteru (Blue Ether)", that I really liked Megumi's voice. I liked how that song turned out. Sheryl's were another mixed bag. I absolutely hated her "live" version of "What 'bout My Star?". I think Ms. Kanno went synthesizer crazy on that. I'm glad they only played it once. "Infinity" was put to good use. "Northern Cross" as the ending theme was okay but I like the animation and feel to "Diamond Crevasse" more. One thing I really liked about Fire Bomber tracks is how each part stands out. I can hear each instrument and each vocalist. I didn't get that same feeling with Frontier]/i] I can still listen to Fire Bomber today and can still be used in Macross. "Goodbye Sister" really put that quality about Fire Bomber tracks to good use and I'm glad they did it because it worked really well. I don't know if I can say the same about Frontier's songs, overall. Average: ~7.5 (rounded to I would have preferred a bit more character work to cement a few things but I was, overall, very satisfied with this production.
  22. Or perhaps the animators/CG artists just said, "No".
  23. i.e. The same issues that haunt all transforming Plamodels/Gunpla. Just because you can transform it, doesn't mean it's a good idea. Watching that vid that was posted earlier reminds me of why transforming models are a "handle with extreme care" issue.
  24. A) We had a thread for naming the VF-27. -> http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=26077 B) Questions like these belong in the newbie thread.
  25. Just to show the extent of the Vajra's reach. They could have used Macross 9, 12, 15, 17, 20, etc... Now, people who have knowledge of Fire Bomber American, know that Macross 11 is origin of this band and the current residence of Lynn Kaifun. But that's trivia. It's just a random example of where the Vajra can go.
