Macross Frontier Mecha/Technology Thread IV *Read 1st Post*

Guld Goa Bowman: ガルド・ゴア・ボーマン The vol. 6 liner notes say: マクロス・ギャラクシー可変戦闘機開発工廠(ガルド・ワークス) Yeh. I won't think too much about it except it's just word play which Frontier seems to be littered with. -

I'm pretty happy with Win7 on my VM as well. There are some user interface issues with it which I'm not happy about since pushing this on older users who are use to a more classic interface may find it difficult to work through. I'm much more happy with the memory usage but I would like to see if they can shave it down a little more with the RC. -
I just find it interesting that in a normally male-targeted AV, you're looking at the guy and not the girls. I'm just sayin.....

I'm sure that will be a "yes". Like Transformers: Animated did, I'm sure they'll use those since it will be ingrained in everybody's heads or try to redesign things for a simpler format.

From what I hear about the unfinished leaked copy that spread out on the net at the beginning of the month,

Also bear in mind this is a fairly common practice. Joss Whedon was tapped to write a script for WB on Wonder Woman. He sent it, the studio paid him, and have ended up not using it. Lawrence Kasdan draft may be a basic outline of what was done. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar were brought on to rewrite. They may submit it, and the studio may decide to not go forward with it. If the 2 are done, it's up to the studio to decide to move forward with it or not.

Considering WB and Fox worked out a settlement to get Watchmen in theaters, yes, that's all it would take. DYRL? compacted a good chunk of SDFM into 2 hours. I don't think it would be that hard to do the same with RT's "Macross Saga". Just take the main highlights and toss the rest. And we are talking about Robotech here, not Macross. If you guys are thinking about a literal translation, word for word, cel for cel, then that probably wouldn't work for a movie format. A serialized TV show can drag things out. A movie has to compress it down to just the essentials. Transformers did it and pulled it off. Star Trek is doing it and it looks like that's going to pull it off as well. Rebooting/reimaging/etc. can be done and legal headaches can be minimized.

As I've said, the best thing to do to avoid any legal entanglements, reboot/update/reimage/etc. the franchise. New VF-1, new SDF-1, new look for Lick Rick, and the gang. Worked for Transformers.

Any issue with a VF-1 article is always good. So can we finally have an answer about Edgar's and Claudia's relationship? So how long is this part of the timeline gonna be? Should have figured they won't be done with this section yet...

You may want to try AVG Free and run a scan. Additionally, you might want to run Adaware or Spybot because you may not have removed all associated files and registry keys. -
Yes. WB obtained rights to the live-action movie with Tobey Maguire's production company, Maguire Entertainment.

Some scheduling news. Fox cuts short 'Dollhouse' (sort of)

That's because you're replacing certain parts of the model with the Super parts. The DX Super parts are addons. -

Unfortunately, there's not a lot of documentation that I have or seen on the VF-171. They only thing the VF-171 retains from the VF-17 is the gun pod, probably the head lasers (this hasn't been documented so it's a maybe) and the shoulder missile launchers (reduced to 1 exit port/shoulder on the VF-171 instead of 2/shoulder on the VF-17). The cockpit laser guns are now machine guns according to the Vol. 8 liner notes and Official Fanbook. -
Dalong.net has had the review up for bit now. Even the clear version Regular version, Clear Version

It's not like they make tanks anymore. We also don't know how tough Destroid armor is. The point of the wording is, a SPX-55-round can punch through some pretty hard stuff if it wanted to. And, let us not forget that a sniper rifle is a precision weapon. You don't spray-and-pray with that thing. -
I forget the term, but you can tell in the pics that it has that 1/3-size-of-a-cover wrap-around on it. So I'm pretty sure it's a reprint for Frontier.
-
Silence, you! I'm gonna agree with Gubaba. If there is any question of what HG can or cannot do, it's probably gonna have to come from whatever the live-action movie will pull out. And well, if there is any interest that will come, a reboot of the franchise is probably in order. Probably with people who can think of a better story to tie everything together.

It's a freakin typo. "300m" should be "300mm". Which is the size of a regular desk ruler, which is quite thick. And it's Destroid armor, which is probably fairly dense not to mention it said it's a composite armor. -
300m->300mm. It's called a "typo". Happens all the time. Look it up.

That's how it was written in the 1/72 manuals. You'll have to ask the creators if it was a calculation. No. It only mentions that they are a Remmington HMM-5A CIWS missile pod. That's it. The 1/72 kit manuals do not list ammo counts on the Super parts. Nearly all FAST packs use chemical propellant. Even the main engines use fuel when in space. In atmosphere, they use air as a propellant. This has been know for quite some time. Ask the creators. It's been written like that since the vol. 4 liner notes came out.

So they wrapped the print with the wrap-around.... I think it's a reprint to market with Frontier. The book has been out for quite a while now. 2005 to be exact. You can find it on Ebay or here: http://www.hlj.com/product/KOB90124 or at a Kinokuniya.
