Top Gun meets Brokeback Mountain?????
-
IIRC, it was from the DYRL? game. It appeared for about a second...Just like the Armored VF-1J. It was there to tease people.
-
The things they put up to make you play in a pachinko parlor. Reminds me of the slot machines in Vegas with a video display on it.

Consider that it's just a VF-25 mold with a new head and cockpit layout...I think it's just the camera angle.

Moderating Macross General SCOOPDA
azrael replied to sketchley's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
It's Mari, so I'll let that slide for now. It's oddball news about Mari, but at least it's something. But more importantly what people don't seem to understand is IT'S NOT A DISCUSSION THREAD. Hell, I should probably prune it. But it's there for news. Album releases, game releases, book releases, animation details and release dates, magazine info,... etc. I don't read the New York Times or Time Magazine for reader feedback, I read it to find out what's happening in the world. The idea is the same for the Scoop thread. If you've got a Macross or Macross-related news item, that's what that thread is for. I may drop the Model restriction since lots of magazines pull out info about special models. But definitely no Toy news. There's a Scoop thread for that already. -
Yup.

*tap Tap tap*. DMY. You might want to read the end of that thread on AS and our own mirror thread before you bring up "Ohnogi novels" again.
-
It's on this week? Meh. I'll pass.
-
Now to bring this thread back on topic.... It was there for shits and giggles. THAT'S IT.

It seems to confirm the idea that VFs became specialized in particular areas until the development lines converged with the VF-11, much like how jet fighters became specialized from the 1960s thru the 1990s becoming multi-role. Only confirms something we already suspected.

The first Special Edition of 00 comes out in November. The actual movie is looking at a 2010 release date. Unicorn is looking at a Spring-2010 date.

The computer and electronics super geek thread

Micro-ATX is great for computers that won't be doing much or single function boxes. I found them to be a better solution to people who just need a system to do Office/'Net, HTPCs (I can go smaller with HTPCs though), and home servers. -

Cooling is gonna be a little harder since it's all compacted in there, unless you are putting this into a ATX case as opposed to a Micro-ATX. If you are, then cooling shouldn't be an issue. Wire management might be a problem. You may need to do some creative wire management to not restrict airflow in a micro-ATX case. But any problem won't cause you a major headaches. -
I'm bouncing around in the Glossary sheets and working on some timeline stuff (i.e. the History sheets) for Frontier. I don't think I'll be getting to any mecha for a bit.
-
It's called "Eminent domain". And yes, the it regards the government seizing property for usage. So this is not HG's territory.
-
Great more stuff to look at. I can understand some of the legal-ise and a quick look at the conclusion seems to indicate that Tatsunoko's claims were rejected dismissed.

Talk about mold-milking. So when is the Full-armored coming... Say it with me, BOMBA! BOMBA! BOMBA! BOMBA! BOMBA! BOMBA! BOMBA! BOMBA! BOMBA! BOMBA! BOMBA!

Acer only sells a up to a 6-cell battery for that model so this 10-cell battery is from a 3rd party manufacturer. If it's suppose to work this netbook, then you are welcome to try it. I would back up any useful data on the system before I switch batteries as a precaution. -
Squatting would imply they aren't doing bull-dung with the trademark. That gawd-awful "Stealth" VF-thingofabob says otherwise, unfortunately.
-
Unfortunately, we are not sure that BW is doing that because no one has seen their contracts. They can sell it as a 3rd party vendor. They don't need to go directly to Manga Video to sell it. They can get it through a distributor and then sell it like any retail store. From the looks of it, BW abandoned (let it die or never renewed it) the trademark in 2000. No one was using it as of 2002 when HG file for it so I can't answer why BW never followed up on it.
-
It would be called "exclusive rights" which can be worded into a contract. This is done quite a bit. Cell phone companies and cellphone carriers are littered with these deals. And it doesn't have to be BW or the IP holder that puts that language into a contract, it can be the other party. The other side can say, "if we are going to support your product, then we and our subsidiaries want exclusive rights to it." So if the IP company decides to do some business elsewhere, the company with exclusive rights to the property can butt in and say they have a contract which says we have certain rights to certain areas and that they need to involved in any contract negotiations pertaining to those areas of interest. And yes, it can be done by the IP holder if they don't want certain parties interfering with their property, i.e. "I will give exclusive rights to this product you if you do not transfer to a 3rd party or not include me in any kind of contract negotiations." Although, then we get into a some other issues which would probably force me to read up on monopolistic laws.

IIRC, the VF-17 has horizontal thrust-vectoring and the VF-171 inherits this feature.

*pray* Please have a clear and concise answer as to the exact difference between this and the QF-4000 Ghost. The Glossary doesn't make it quite clear... */pray* Space whales are mecha? Minmay is now the VF-1 of the Character sheets. There, I said it.

See, now do all of you people understand my ranting about people not reading? But I digress.... Do you mean for new shows or for the LAM? I recall them coming up with new designs but nothing that made it to an production. Creatively/Artistically, I can't answer that. Legally, they just need to keep up the trademark or they lose it. Simple as that. As I've said, REBOOT and REIMAGE. Take the core ideas and have someone build a world. New mecha, new ships, same names but update it. RT:SC tried and failed (lesson here: Don't try). This gives creators and artists room to play things out without being tied to any particular continuity. It gives them a chance to flex the creative muscles and do something unique.

I asked you people to keep discussions to a minimum but obviously that was too hard. Therefore, No discussions will be allowed in this topic. This topic will be for news and news only. Yapping posts will be deleted.
