  1. No. HG would have no control over that. Tatsunoko, maybe. But not HG. But even then, that's a big maybe. Tatsunoko didn't file a lawsuit on Bandai Visual until months after volume 4 came out.
  2. I don't see anything about criticism in the forum rules. So I'd just call it seeing everything through rose-color glasses i.e. delete things that don't conform.
  3. Yeah, that would sound right. That would also force HG to give up the Macross trademark, which they probably don't want to give up. Now, you know you're gonna need a link/source with that info. If true.... talk about fan over-reaching. If they just kept to keeping all their works as non-commercial, that probably would have spared them some headaches. I think people should understand that Macross and anime in general is not terribly marketable and hence, not terribly profitable. Companies need to make a return investment and I just don't see that happening right now. And as we've stated many times, Macross probably isn't as profitable as people think it is.
  4. Do the enclosures have USB or Firewire connections? I would try those. That would rule out the enclosures. Be sure that the eSATA plug is also plugged into the motherboard.
  5. Well....terminology-wise, yes, that's true. Technically...no. A Core 2 Duo is a dual-core CPU. That's just Intel's name for their dual-core CPU.
  6. I expect no effect in regards to the LAM. But as you said, I do expect more anti-HG sentiment. HG will blow this off because they don't care about the old fandom.
  7. Judging by the people at their convention panels... Frankly, a good 50%-75% of issue would probably go away if they gave up on Macross being the focal point of their narrative and just write their own frakin narrative. But obviously they weren't capable of that considering Shadow Chronicles. As I've said, even the people who made Astro Plan have more creative balls than HG. And they were probably paid less too.
  8. Yes kids, take it to PM, or I'll force you. (Az is being gracious. I suggest you follow the advice.)
  9. If the letterhead is from a law firm, then they do not have in-house lawyers. And as clients of a law firm, they have to tell the lawyers who to send letters to. If they tell a law firm to go after everybody, that would be blowing lots of money and man-hours searching the 'Net for infringements. If it has HG's letterhead, then it's probably a template C&D letter.
  10. "We tried to license more Macross, like Macross 7, but it's not our fault. The creators aren't even talking to each other" (not exact dialog, but close enough) Well gee golly, when the people sue each other you think they're just gonna say let bygones-be-bygones? Heck, the folks that HG got their license from sued Bandai. Yes, Bandai. BW has had a wonderful relationship with Bandai since Macross II. I doubt that will change. But Big West started it? Well, Big West probably won't have done anything if something didn't prompt them to look at it... "Warner Brothers actually wanted to work with us on the scheduling for Shadow Chronicles due to the LAM..." And if WB and Maguire Ent. haven't green lit a script, what then? Heck, the lawyers just killed FANART for VFTF1's sake...(we probably have too many Petes here so I'm just gonna pick on one)
  11. See, now he's starting to sound like me.
  12. Performance. Intel generally performs better than AMD. In some cases, however, the performance gains from using an Intel setup are more costly than using an AMD setup. In some setups and with some games, going with an Intel setup could cost up to $200 USD more and only produce about a 5 fps gain over an equivalent AMD setup. Sometimes paying more for only so little gain doesn't add up.
  13. Try updating the firmware if there is an update. Try disabling some services like UPnP or SES (or whatever Linksys calls that security setting). If it's still happening, I would write down all your information stored in the router (username/password, if applicable, wi-fi security settings, etc) and reset the router to factory default (press and hold the reset button for about 30 seconds). Input your settings again. Then test your devices 1 at a time but be sure you test your Toshiba last (you can try all your devices then turn on the Toshiba laptop, or just try 1 computer and then the Toshiba). A couple other things you can do are: -update the Toshiba's wireless NIC adapter driver -assign the Toshiba a static IP
  14. Considering WB seems more interested in moving forward with DC Entertainment, I'm not surprised. Frankly, Fox sat on the Watchmen license for 15 years before they realized they still had distribution rights to it so I won't be surprised if WB sat on the Robotech license for that long. As I've said, until I hear or see a script being done, people can say all they want. No script? No director? No movie. Come back and talk when they get those 2 items.
  15. Okay, just so I'm clear, HP desktop + Acer netbook + iPod Touch = good. but HP desktop + Acer netbook + iPod Touch + Toshiba laptop = no good or HP desktop + Acer netbook + Toshiba laptop = no good or HP desktop + Toshiba laptop = no good or Acer netbook + Toshiba laptop = no good or even iPod Touch + Toshiba laptop = no good Is that right? What model and firmware for the Linksys router are you using? Are you using the latest firmware for your router?
  16. Heard the Logitech X-540 was a great set. In fact, it's on my short list if and when my current 5.1 speakers blow out. If it still exists by that time.
  17. It took them till 2007 to get it out on home video. They were parading it around back in late 2005 thru 2006 until Funimation picked it up in mid-late 2006 for home release in mid-2007.
  18. It depends on when the host account expires. A domain can expire before an account with a web hosting company expires and vice versa. We'll know when the host account expires when either the account owners say so or when the content no longer exists. Standard practice is to reimage (i.e., reformat/reinstall the OS and reinstall Apache) the after the account expires.
  19. Tatsunoko owns the merchandising rights to DYRL? as part of their agreement for producing the film. Bandai Visual, in cooperation with TOHO, have the distribution rights to the film in Japan. Big West, MBS and Shogakukan Productions would be the direct parties regarding the license of the film.
  20. On-board sound is good for most people. HT Omega, I hear, is a brand for people who really care about sound. At the $2,500-$3,000, level, you'll want to go with SSDs (Solid State Drive) instead of your regular disk hard drives. For storage, you'll probably be looking at the 1-2 TB (terabyte) hard drives JUST for storage.
  21. HD-in......then you'll probably be wanting to look at a HD tuner card. Video cards do HD-out so you'll need something to capture the input from the cable box. Hauppauge or AVerMedia seems to be the first stop for PVR-DIYers.
  22. No. But since the majority of the footage is from SDFM, there's not much that can be used.
  23. So many people need to be edumicated in Macross... Have fun with that Seto! *pats Seto on the back and walks away* Funny that the folks at RTX locked/deleted the old UEG thread and made them start a new one. Intriguing.
  24. [voice=Homer Simpson] I'll make your head explode!!!! [/voice]
