  1. There would probably be less press if the Apple employee's name wasn't released or if we didn't find out he paid money for the phone.
  2. Unfortunately, SOME people don't know when a joke has exceeded its humor quota.
  3. Someone wanna explain why in bloody hell they were testing 2 different classes of weapons here? That "sting bomb" is a room-clearing device. A taser is a crowd control device. You use those thing under different circumstances. That was just one of those WTH-moments.
  4. But EXO, didn't you tell me "Won't it be great to have the camera do a speed-up/normal-speed 360-spin around the entire body. Then pan out to Rick, Roy, Max, and Ben doing the slow walk-of-cool as they walk away from their mechs. And won't it be great if Lisa was the one with the rocket launcher with the don't-f*ck-with-me-badass-b*tch attitude? And then Minmay with her bring-down-the-house dance moves? That alone would make the movie!"
  5. That's probably what he's afraid of.
  6. Bandai isn't waiting. They're just not pursuing it. Bandai Visual USA doesn't exist as a separate entity from Bandai Entertainment (Bandai Visual USA was absorbed into Bandai Entertainment a while back). Bandai Visual Japan (who is working with Shogakukan) is only concerned with the Japanese market. When will BV Japan bring it to Blu-Ray? Dunno. Like many companies, the back catalog isn't a real priority.
  7. As Jacob said, "It only ends once. Anything that happens before that is just progress."
  8. Perhaps Jacob finding a successor is his way of proving his point; that people are inherently good. But the problem is that people have to make that choice. Jacob can't do it or he would lose the argument. In any case, the upcoming episode "Across the Sea" (airdate: May 11, 2010) will probably explain this whole argument between Jacob and MIB. And the episode after that, which is right before the series finale, well, I think the title explains it: "What They Died For".
  9. Jacob is responsible for getting people killed by bringing them to the island, but Jacob hasn't actually killed anybody. MIB is the one who's actually killed people. So saying Jacob has killed people sounds a bit far fetched.
  10. A whole different story. IIRC, Toho Co. Ltd. was the theater distributor for the movie. Shogakukan Productions Co., Ltd. with Bandai Visual are the actual holders of the video distribution.
  11. Didn't Ilyana or someone say that MIB can't assume the form of anybody else anymore. He can only assume Locke's or Smokey.
  12. As I've said, part of it is HG (which I won't cover), part of it is people not knowing how it all works. As I've said, many of these panel goers are not lunatic-fringe-fans. They don't read the RT forums, they aren't die-hard Macross fans, and they don't know the legal terminology. I won't call them "imbecilic", just fans with only rudimentary knowledge of things. When you listen to the Q&A sessions, these people don't ask very specific questions. And therefore, get skewed answers. People have to understand what are trademarks and copyrights and who has what. Hell, I spell out what HG has in copyrights here, which is exactly what Tatsunoko has. I even listed the trademarks HG has as well. If people would do the research, read a few more sites than Wikipedia, people would begin to understand some things.
  13. Yeah, that question popped up in a few spots. Costume should have been paying attention to the script but considering his scene was short (mostly him talking) and you don't see him for too long (plus the room is dark), I'll just let it slide.
  14. Seems to be a running theme in this season; you let people talk and people suddenly convert.
  15. Mod Mode: I guess you numb nuts need to be told to shut up cuz none of you seem to take a hint. Attack the man's work all you want but seriously, but as a person, leave the dead guy alone. If I hear one more tasteless comment out of any of you, I'm just gonna drop a ban hammer.

  17. I'm just surprise they're taking the joke and actually putting thought into incorporating it. I said it once, and I'll say it again, now they're just insulting Astro Plan.
  18. As I said earlier, our regular procedure is to close these kinds of threads after a while. This being no exception. If you wish to leave condolences to the family you can do so at the following locations: Carl Macek's Facebook page Robotech.com's forum thread Robotech on Facebook
  19. Doubtful. I don't recall any rights issue involving Southern Cross. Big West's involvement with merchandise would have only lasted 10 years under an exclusive agreement, after which, the rights revert back to Tatsunoko. I don't recall Tatsunoko asking Big West for help in making that show so Southern Cross won't be a problem.
  20. Screeners are for losers who can't wait for proper DVD or Blu-Ray rips.
  21. I don't care if you liked the guy or not, but if you you don't want to pass any condolences, shut your mouth and move along. That includes replying to other posters as well. And with our standard operating procedure regarding these kinds of threads, this thread will be closed later today.
  22. http://www.robotech.com/news/viewarticle.php?id=418 More info on where you can send condolences to his widow, Svea Macek, as I get it.
  23. And if you want a real headache, the VF-171EX's FF-2550F engines, which are noted as the same used in the the VF-19, are rated at 67.5t (max. output in space).
  24. And here you thought my hatred of VF-1, Lynn Minmay and Mylene articles was bad.
  25. Blame Kawamori and the Chronicle editors. Heck, the VF-19S' engines use to be FF-2550Js and then they became FF-2550Xs. And heck, the VF-19As 56,500 kg FF-2200 engines still give it a max velocity of Mach 5.1+ @ 10,000m and the VF-19A is the heaviest of the family (from my last check).
