The computer and electronics super geek thread

Hmmmm...considering that some of that stuff is usually soldered in...having it loose is probably not a good thing. -
Dunno. There is a G.F.F. Metal Composite coming.

The computer and electronics super geek thread

If you want to be safe and just make sure it's working, try booting to safe mode. Is the laptop's CPU fan spinning? Or does it spin up then die down? When you said it was hot, was it hot to the touch (i.e., if it was any hotter, you'd need oven mitts) or just warm? Right now, I'm thinking either the video card (if it's not integrated video) is gone or something on the motherboard is but I can't be sure. -

Is your battery still in good shape? Remove the battery and see if you can power up with just the AC adapter. Attach a monitor to it and see if you can get video out. Do you have an external hard drive enclosure? Does it work for your laptop hard drive? Take out your hard drive and see if you can use another computer to read it. If all looks good, your data should be fine. -
I've removed his avatar till he fixes it. You should shouldn't see the login prompt anymore.

Report problems in the "Member Feedback" section. As to where it's coming from? Someone may be linking to content from that site. Who and what are the question.

If you really want those kits, I would suggest talking to any of our members in Japan who attend WonderFest to help you get one of those kits or attend the convention yourself.

Not really. -Can be used inside and outside atmosphere. -Lower air resistance than the Super Pack. -turreted twin-beam gun provides a wide field-of-fire and it has some micro missile launchers.

Who knows, they may have approached someone else but that person hasn't been asked by the media. And you never know. The Losers may turn out to be just the right film to get White's name up there. IMO, WB is focusing their efforts at bringing comics to life considering their recent reorganization of "DC Comics" to "DC Entertainment". The LAM is just something they're doing on the side for the time being.

My sentiments exactly. Now are we done, or do I need to force us to move on? ...Good. And if you do feel that need to continue this, you are more than welcomed to PM me or any appropriate party.

You don't really need to see those to get the jist of things. It would help with some backstory but it's not a necessity.

Well, now that you pointed it out, he's probably gonna take umbrage. Umm yeah...why do we care about these people and their senseless rambles again?

We don't know. For all we know, the citizens of Galaxy could all be in living life through a virtual world and not realize that certain parties are manipulating them.

Unfortunately, they neglect to indicate what "new material" is. Keep in mind, toys, comic books, novels, etc, are considered new materials and derivative works. They cannot create works using those designs beyond that which doesn't involve SDFM. It can only relate to SDFM and nothing else. As I said, I don't think they quite understand how it works. Actually, it does need to be corrected. As I said here (seriously, people should read those links I posted), using the term "intellectual property" is terribly vague term and bound to cause misunderstandings. But at the same time, making it more complicated probably won't help people understand it. But yes, it does need to be corrected.

My boy, at this point, any director could be called up to direct this project. Even Uwe Boll. As for this MEMO-works-for-Tommy-nonsense, who bloody cares? But if you're gonna say something and be all secretive about your source, then why reveal it at all. It would be no better than a rumor. As news filters to other entertainment sites, I'm really seeing how 3rd party people (i.e. fans of neither Macross or Robotech) don't quite understand the legality of WB can and cannot use to produce this flick. And even then, I highly doubt WB will be using the same designs.

At the same time, they guy might decide to decline so since he hasn't agreed to anything. So you can throw the name out but the official line is, they're still shopping for a director. Little of column A, little of column B. He doesn't want to say yes since that might generate false buzz and get him in trouble. But he can't say no since WB might say, "You're our guy for this." It's like a job offer. But in this case, the job doesn't really exist yet since the project hasn't been greenlit. A draft could be anything. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filmmaking#Development We're probably looking at somewhere between a "treatment" and a "screenplay". Maybe, maybe not. We won't know for a while.
-
A screenplay is sorta necessity for bringing in a director. Unless the franchise is popular enough to attract attention just by mentioning the name alone. Now which screenplay? Dunno. Three were produced but which one WB is shopping with is the question. But yes, I agree that people seem to forget that it hasn't been greenlit yet so it still hasn't really moved anywhere since. Like I said, I imagine we'll probably hear a few more names being mentioned but the light is still red so there's no real need to jump out of the seat yet.

The Smallville creators left the show a year ago. Not to mention they're now suing WB for breach-of-contract for self-dealing the license of Smallville to affiliates at below-market rates. If any money was put up-front to obtain the license, it would have a small amount, probably to cover lawyer fees. I won't be surprised if we hear a few director-names being approached to helm the project between now and whenever.

Best part of the article: Remember how I said scripts can sit at a studio and not move...So he hasn't agreed nor is the project greenlit. That would be like a friend at Big-Name-Corp telling me of a possible project that I might be interested in joining, but Big-Name-Corp hasn't posted a job listing for. Good Grief. Obviously, there must be some kind of screenplay floating out there if someone has been approached for this franchise.

Bandai America did pick up the distribution rights. But weak demand forced them to discontinue distributing them outside of Japan.

The old PGs use to have light-up eyes or chest (Wing Zero Custom). I recall the 1/60 NG Strike Freedom had the light-up body. Then of course, these days, there's MG Exia with the light-up chest and PG 00 Raiser with the light-up, animated GN drives.

Actually, it would be 3 years. They picked it up in 2007. It won't be the first time a studio has lost the rights to something and someone else picked it up. Look at Watchmen. It went from Fox, to Universal, to Paramount, and finally to WB before it got made. WB may just put the LAM in turnaround. Agreed. That's the whole point of RT:SC. They wanted to create their own work so that they won't have to keep catering to a bunch of 30-40 year-olds whose chance of watching this stuff was really low. I don't think it's been any secret that the LAM is suppose to be the tent-pole for the "new" RT series that suppose to draw in new fans and whatnot.

Tatsunoko sued Bandai (not BW) for restitution for distributing the Macross sequels (BW was name as Bandai's sponsor). Not really. More like their status as lawful distributors of the SDFM was reaffirmed. Kinda. When they sued Bandai, that's kinda what it boiled down to but as I said, they wanted restitution from Bandai's distribution of the Macross sequels. But since they never participated in those, hence, never put money into those projects, they don't get the money for those sales. Not quite. Big West sued Tatsunoko first for some unknown reason. After that cleared, Tatsunoko sued Bandai. Again, you guys should really stop using the phrase "intellectual property" because it's terribly vague and probably the reason why no one understands this issue. (Read these links: What is Intellectual Property? and Did You Say “Intellectual Property”? It's a Seductive Mirage)

Define what you mean by "IP rights". Intellectual Property is divided into copyrights and industrial properties (ex. trademarks). Are you talking about the copyrights? Patents? Trademarks? Or something else? What is Intellectual Property? Did You Say “Intellectual Property”? It's a Seductive Mirage
