No. It just means whatever fan-works you post are no longer your property because you gave up that right when you posted it. The whole idea behind the "no-unsolicited-material"-clause is a company is not suppose to accept any materials they didn't ask for or else, it opens them to legal action. Most of the larger companies go through agents or some 3rd party to get material. Basically, Company XYZ puts out a request for an idea. That idea gets posted through some posting agency and then people respond to it. And since they ask for material, they can legally say we own that material since we asked for it and someone submitted it. For smaller groups, ideally, you try to sell them a summary, then they ask for a complete idea. Hence, they ask for something. Now, as Seto mentioned, it's treading a line. HG has the standard "no-unsolicited-material"-clause but at the same time, they have a fan-works section. So in effect, they're asking for material, in a skewed sense. But because they don't use it nor are they directly asking for it, it doesn't belong to them. Which brings up the point, well why bother having a fan-works section in the first place if they're not suppose to be accepting that stuff. That's what I was getting at. So no, they don't own Astro Plan, nor do they own your parodies...Unless for some bizarre reason, they decide to use them. In which case, you could sue them for monetary damages.

Nah, just get the authors of the fanwork to post it in the Fanart section on RT.com. Then, HG will claim copyright. It's kinda funny how they have the standard "no-unsolicited-material"-clause in their TOS, and then have a fanart section on their site at the same time. It's like they're saying we don't want any material while holding out their hands, accepting stuff at the same time.

Variable Fighter Master File VF-19 Excalibur
azrael replied to nexxstrait's topic in Movies and TV Series
VF-1 Master File and the VF-19 Master File are only sold out at HMV, HLJ, and HobbySearch and will probably be back in stock in about 2-3 weeks. You could also try ordering both from Kinokuniya and have them ship it to you. Some of the listings on Ebay are the same price if I were to import it so I don't see how Ebay would be more expensive. -
Considering it was posted in the "Other Anime Series"-section, I don't see what this has to do with RT. Therefore, why did this even come up?

Unless HG were the ones who invited them. But really, if HG sent a C&D letter at a convention for promoting of Japanese works, they would probably never hear the end of it. And their license doesn't cover live performances so I don't see why there would be a problem.

Variable Fighter Master File VF-19 Excalibur
azrael replied to nexxstrait's topic in Movies and TV Series
I see the possibility of 1 more Master File but I ain't holding my breath. It probably won't be a VF-25. YF-21/VF-22, maybe, but like you said, I don't see the demand. And that's being optimistic. -

IIRC, the Chronicle touched on this in the VF-17 and VF-19 articles about their respective Super parts. The only reason Gamlin and Docker jettison their packs was because they spent the missile payloads so the packs were all but dead weight. Didn't say a thing about ditching them for transformation. I haven't had a real chance to look over the Master File's contents but considering so who knows what it could say. -

Perhaps deliver the payload and then ditch the parts. A VF-19 can get into satellite orbit without boosters. -
Don't you know? "VS" contests are how they measure their...*<insert NSFW content>*. That's how the interwebs work. Why in the which-ever-deity's name would anyone want to video tape a funeral? Isn't the fact that someone is dead enough?

An episode? As in 1 episode? That's it? You're complaining after 1 episode? Good grief. Kids these days...no stomach for anything, even if it tastes bad.

Yep. They had cameos. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0429493/fullcredits#cast Yep. Isn't that suppose to happen with the A-Team?

Seto, we agree to disagree. Now can we just just focus on the book? Thank you. -

And if Egan got his info from 2 of those sources, then we can get take out the Compendium as a middle man. But even he compromised between the 2 old figures. Okay, but I have yet to see a retraction being published for this. In fact, another work was published which restate the new figures, namely the Master File. Even if it's origins are dubious. And if the Bandai Hi-Metal toy reprints this, what then? They're all wrong because it doesn't make sense to you? As I said, I'm not asking if it doesn't make sense. I'm not asking you to make sense of it at all. Gee gholly, it wouldn't be the first time writings haven't followed the animation. And the original sources are inconsistent. And if the new information is inconsistent with inconsistent old writings, then either everybody is wrong or everybody is right. (thank you Graham for getting this) Again, I'm not asking you or anybody to make "bloody sense" of it. -
The computer and electronics super geek thread

If your local Best has that Dell or Samsung model that mikeszekely pointed out, either would be a decent one to work with. You might want to look at this one from Asus if they have it. Actually, after using a display with a reflective surface for a while now, it doesn't bother me anymore. I actually prefer it if I can. I do have my monitor in a spot that has minimal glare, but I've dealt with setups where the room was as bright as can be with natural sunlight and with all sorts of possible spots for glare yet the monitor had a reflective screen and still could crystal clear without any issues. -
Variable Fighter Master File VF-19 Excalibur
azrael replied to nexxstrait's topic in Movies and TV Series
Maybe you should ask him because only he knows that answer. Cuz model goes with 68,500kg with 48 missiles. The toy goes with 78,950kg and 12 missiles. Then the Chronicle goes with 68,950kg and 12 missiles. You said do the math. Why? That's not what I'm asking. It doesn't make sense. No kidding, but that's not what I'm asking. I am asking, how do you know if it's an error in print if we have 3 sources that don't agree with each other. Adding the Master File in there doesn't make it any clearer either. -

Considering we haven't had any real resurgence in Macross writings during those 10 years... -

The Chronicle writers make it very clear in the VF-19S entry; 12 total, 6/leg. I assume none of you looked at the contributor's page in the back and notice Kawamori never contributed any writings to the book. And I'll ask it yet again, are you sure it's an error. We have 3 values which are not consistent. And just because it's hard to swallow, doesn't make it wrong. -

It's called grasping straws. Won't surprise me if they pull more out-of-context footnotes as truth. *Yawn*

No no no. You have to point out the bleeding hemorrhaging obvious.

Yep. And chances are, WB will contract out the game to an actual development studio. The toys will be contracted out to a toy manufacturer, shirts will be contracted out to a clothing maker, etc....none of which should come to any surprise. And I'm sure they're saving all the pomp and circumstance for their 2-hour bloc at AX-2010 and whatever they have at Comic Con.
