    The panel seemed more interested in their laptop screens than the crowd..... As I've said many times and many moons before, you can keep the generic outline of Macross, i.e. Spaceship crashes on Earth. Giant aliens come looking for ship. Big war starts. What they do in between would be free to their heart's content. They can get rid of all the stuff that made Macross and make it their own. No songs, no Minmei, nothing that would require importing. Like BSG, it can be done in homage, but it doesn't define it. It's also the only way it's going to survive, but you can blame certain people and certain selling points for not letting it happen. I have said it too many times; RT has to be rebooted. At this point, it's a necessity. Unless you're one of those people in the panel audience, no one is going to take on a show with 20-something years of baggage to catch up on. They could have done it with RTSC but as soon as they threw in New Generation characters and then Lick Hunter without backstory, the baggage started piling on. They can keep waiting for WB but who knows when they'll do anything.

    Most of the visuals we've seen have been mostly in fighter mode because most of the visuals use kit-bashed 1/72 Hasegawa kits. This novel is being published by Dengeki Hobby, after all. And making a resin kit of more VFs would take some time as opposed to kit bashing a current model kit.

    It's still in theaters, unfortunately. Would love to see how Hollywood royally screws this one up... makes this happen.

    Didn't Kamen Rider Decade (DI-KEI-DO!!!!) do that motif of changing into previous years characters? I just find it silly that Sentai does it as well.

    Or for that matter, how about talking to nanoplasm about a group-buy for the publication? He's done it for lots of books, toys, and magazines. If there's enough people, I'm sure he'll consider posting a group-buy in the For-Sale section as he has previously. He has done for for various Macross Ace issues. Why not take advantage of it?

    Just like humans. Protoculture influenced, but they come from marsupials instead of monkeys. Dunno and dunno. Space is vast. Lots of worlds out there and never enough shows to cover everyone.

    A while back I mentioned that trademarks are based on first usage in the US, not first registration like most other countries. This is why HG can claim it because of their use of it in RT. But they can't do much beyond what they have been doing because they do not own the original concept.

    Surprisingly, Watson didn't seem as confident in its answers today. But still, bravo IBM. Now give it the voice of Majel Roddenberry.

    The series (especially in the 2nd season) didn't specifically mention ELS, but more like aliens. Doesn't matter who or what, just aliens. It just happened that ELS found Earth first. As reeoyuy mentioned, the "dialogues to come" was as big of a hint as anything. And as mentioned in the movie, whether or not humanity was ready, ELS were already knocking on the door. Aeolia Schenberg's plan accounted for the fact that humanity would encounter aliens at some point and he wanted humanity prepared for that eventuality.

    Watson kicked some serious ass in Double Jeopardy and really stumbled in Final Jeopardy (saved by a low bid). It's going into day 2 with a substantial lead.

    Did you update the LAN driver from Microsoft? If so, replace it with the manufacturer driver (or one from the motherboard maker if it's built-in).

    The episode is floating on Youtube. I'll avoid posting links since it might get taken down but Watson performed well. It definitely struck out on a few answers and I do recall it fumbled an response. The correct response was "What is 'missing a leg'?" but Watson responded with "What is 'leg'?". Tomorrow is the Double Jeopardy and Final Jeopardy rounds. It will be interesting to see how responds to more complex and obscure language-usage.

    Macross The Ride, isn't an amusement park thing. It's a serialized novel in Dengeki Hobby magazine. Wonderfest (shorthand for Wonder Festival Japan) is a bi-annual toy/model/hobby show in Japan, usually during Winter and Summer. It normally focuses on "garage" kits. It hardly ever focuses on just Macross, but more on custom kits such as customized plamodel kits, custom sculpts, busts, figures and much more. I would suggest you talk to Tochiro about upcoming events.
