    Maybe. Maybe not. Macross 13 was a testbed for the Sound Jamming System and implementing updates to the New Macross design, which is why it looks the way it does. And since it wasn't attached to a Island or City unit, it was beefed up for combat. Not because it was using Meltran tech. That's not to say it doesn't use Zentran/Meltran tech. But by this point in time, the amount of Zentradi/Meltrandi tech in UN/NUN tech is probably moot. The color scheme is usually arbitrary except to add to the "cool"-ness factor. It's more of a production thing of late as they have been using purple for "villian"-roles.

    Wasn't really "axed" per se. It was conceived as a web series, which SyFy considered putting on TV as a backdoor pilot, but then went back to being a web-series/TV movie.

    How about side-stories as web series leading up to Episode 7? I don't know if I want to suffer through 2-3 extra $100-200 million 2-hour theater outings just make way for Episode 7...and 8...and 9. The draw on that would be they don't need to hire a big name to draw in the crowds and it would be great viral marketing.

    Blu-ray/DVD news: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be out on DVD/Blu-ray combo pack on March 19, 2013. Digital downloads will be released on March 12. The Extended Edition will appear around the holidays. PJ is also live-hosting an early look for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug on March 24, 2013 at 3:00PM EST/noon PST for those who have the UltraViolet code that comes with the DVD/Blu-ray.     Before we go any further, the OP needs to provide a lot more details. As much as we want to help you, details might help. Images might too. I'd start searching Youtube for clips of SDF Macross, SDFM: DYRL?, Macross II, Megazone 23, Southern Cross, Mospeada, or Robotech. Try looking for images of these particular shows. If none of these clips jog your memory, then I'm gonna have to ask "Are you sure this had anything to do with Macross?"

    I'll wait till it comes out in theaters to get a better opinion. And preferably not from a site that has a hard-on for the movie. And is not a rough cut of the movie. In other words, I'll wait before beating the drum.

    Picked up this news when looking at other shows that are being talked about for next season: TCW Moving From CN To Disney XD? There is word that they are working on Season 6 but it shouldn't come as a shock if the show moves off Cartoon Network to a Disney-owned network.

    I'm not sure a rebooted Star Wars would be something I want to see. Otherwise, why call them "Episode 7-9"? I would rather he make an intelligent movie with his own touch than pander to the fanboy-legion. But with any film, I'm cautiously optimistic about its outcome.

    Word is that Abrams hasn't committed to the 2015 release date Disney has stated. He still has another Star Trek movie and a Mission Impossible movie to do on top of the 2 TV projects that just got ordered. But he's only producer on the TV shows.

    John Williams is 80 years old.... I don't know if he has the energy to make it to when production starts, which may not be until after well 2015 with Abrams' current schedule.

    Just like Abrams and Star Wars, I want to see an official press release. If there's no official statement (either from the studio, someone's Twitter/Facebook account, or some news/blog post), then either someone is waiting for the other party to respond in negotiations or it's BS. Too often the 'Net jumps on stuff as fact. It's not fact until the T's are crossed and the I's dotted, or simply put until the contract is signed. Until then, either party can pull out and anything can happen.
