    What could happen is (a)the system may not recognize the memory, (b) may boot but not be able to address more than 2GB on a 4GB stick due to the chipset, © you get a system failure during POST. That laptop is old enough that it came with 1GB of RAM when they came out. I doubt they accounted for anything larger than 4GB for the chipset at the time since it would likely be out-of-date by the time 4GB or 8GB became the new standard. You're welcome to try and place a 4GB stick in there but it might not boot or it might not be stable.

    Has anyone read the novel? Did this episode happen in the novel or was it faster than this? If it wasn't for the fact that GSD-HD remastered is going to start streaming at the end of the month, I would actually forget about Gundam. Seriously...Spring 2014?

    It's the opposite. Newer tech means older tech gets less demand. Less demand = reduce supply and prices jump up cuz now they have to spend money to make older tech when their equipment is geared toward new tech. Your Dell probably will support 4GB of RAM but only in a 2x2GB configuration. I'm not sure if it will take 4GB on a single slot.

    Back to Karkand is fun. Armored Kill is good if you haven't used the vehicles much. I actually started trying my hand with the jets with Armored Kill (I don't fly jets). Close Quarters is like Metro x2. Tight space madness. You gotta watch the corners. Aftermath is OK. Lots of nooks and crannies. I'm downloading Endgame so I haven't played that.

    Bay's Transformers. Many childhoods were violated there and it did fine. As I've said over the years, a rewrite would be for the best as it would take care any universe continuity issues RT has had over the years. And as we all know, other media->movie usually involves a rewrite/reorg/change. And well, RT needs it. It would be for the best franchise if it wants new blood and not live off the blood of 40-somethings-year olds. 'Probably could get rid of that peroxide bottle too.

    Again, I don't see why there is such a fascination with only using Macross, when what they have from RT is perfectly fine. By sticking to RT, there is no legal issue, if there was even one to begin with in making a RT live-action flick. "But, the Macross-part was so popular and everyone remembers that. Macross made Robotech." So what about the other 2 shows they crammed in with Macross to make RT? The ones they used to explain how a ship from space crashed on Earth, why they were fighting giants, getting high on a bio-fuel, fighting for an energy source which lasted 50 years in their universe and through 3 different alien races? So that large convoluted narrative they have dating back to 1985 when they combined 3 non-related shows is not enough? They can't cherry pick from Carl Macek's work, the novels, the RPGs, the comics, whatever crap they have up to now, or come up with something new, which they own without legal recourse? They can only pick from Macross? If you want a Macross-movie, go to Japan, talk to Big West and Kawamori and beg them to revive their live-action Macross movie which will be called "Macross", have a story for Japanese audiences and Asian actors (and hopefully pretty actresses ). This thread and it's subject matter is about an RT live-action flick.

    They may not be listed, but it probably have lost a set a weapons. The VF-171 is a slightly, less complicated, less expensive, VF-17. Even without arm lasers, a VF-171 still has plenty of guns and missiles. On top of that, it got hardpoints for more accessories compared to the VF-17. So we traded guns that were rarely used and got real mounts for any accessory (missiles, gun pods, heavier armaments, etc.) On top of that, the VF-171 got rid of the stealth skin for a real active stealth system and easier-to-use engines. So you didn't need to be part of the Special Forces to fly a VF-17. This is a case where there's more to the fighter than just weapons.

    Well, they have to start somewhere. I'm sure they left it open to sequels but they need something to give to the studio to start with. And there's the key word: generic. If it wasn't modernized in some way to look like a F-22 or JSF or some modern fighter jet, I'd be shocked. No. Unified Government is. Don't need to pull anything else from Macross (aka Japan). As I mentioned, RT already uses it's other shows (besides Macross) to flesh out the back story. I wouldn't be shocked if they worm their way into a 1st movie. It's not like RT has nothing to draw upon using just Macross. Heck, they did it in RT when they threw in some Southern Cross footage into the Macross-portion of the show.
