  1. There goes any chance of offline-mode then. Not that we're not at that point already.
  2. Maybe it's just me, but social media and streaming/cloud-supported games seems...consuming. The game itself can be large (game files or graphics). Then comes the DLCs. I'm looking at my installation of Battlefield 3 and it's near 28 GB up to the current DLC. If I was just starting (like if I got the game as a Christmas present), that's a lot of stuff to download. It sounds like the A-list games will still come on physical media but if PS3 or PS2 games are streaming only, that's a lot of streaming. It sounds like they'll eventually go all cloud-based at some point. I know streaming and that path is the direction of a lot of things, but gamers that play a game straight then play again, or even streaming their games or streaming their multiplayer games... It seems like were gonna need more bandwidth.
  3. It's a compilation (i.e., Special Edition). I'm not expecting anything great to come considering it is a recompiled release.
  4. What legal issues? And no, we are not making this a legal debate thread. If you don't know, go read the pinned thread.
  5. The idea of no PC-release REALLY doesn't appeal to me.
  6. Have you seen this guy's resume? There isn't much to announce.
  7. Just to take a break from PS4 talk.... Anybody try Crysis 3 yet? Saw a few of the walkthrough vids on Youtube and it unfortunately feels a lot like... Crysis 2.
  8. Normally? 10 years seems to be the rolling industry standard (Judging by movies like Fox's Daredevil (2003), Sony's Spiderman-franchise (2002-2007) and Amazing Spiderman (2012), Fox's X-Men-series (2000-2009, 2010-?). Most seem to have it for about 10 years, then the rights revert back to the originating party, if nothing is done. As in, you have 10 years to do something or else it reverts back to the originating owners. You can extend it after 10 years by making new products (i.e., make more movies). But that appears to be on the major-studios level. IIRC, Maguire Entertainment (Tobey Maguire's company) were the ones to acquired the license with WB on-board as the distribution studio. My feeling is if Maguire Ent. can't do something by 2017, WB will probably drop out, unless they want an extension. After which, Maguire Ent. can go to Disney, Sony, Fox, Paramount, etc. But again, that's just what I see and hear.
  9. Unless they actually greenlight this flick, I'll go back into sleep mode. We still don't know how well Pacific Rim will do (Similar genre). Also going into play is WB's new CEO, Kevin Tsujihara. Jeff Robinov (WB's film/box-office chief) and Bruce Rosenblum (WB's TV chief) may decide to leave WB, which would probably further delay things. And considering the Highlander-remake just lost its director, names can be thrown but that doesn't mean they'll stick.
  10. +1 The concept was good. The execution was terrible. Flit's arc had a coherent story. Everything else was just standard. Nothing really jumped out. I tried to watch it but ended up skipping lots of parts in the middle. Asemu's had slightly better character-interaction but the story started going to the crapper. And I actually watched most of this arc. Kio's arc was awful on all fronts. If I missed an episode, and I did for at least 2/3's of it, I never even bothered trying to catch up.
  11. The drive itself is not proprietary (or at least it shouldn't be). The front plate may be proprietary since it needs to match the laptop's enclosure.
  12. You can try to clean the lens with a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol (gently in a circular motion). You can try to copy a large amount of data from a disc or burn a disc or both. If it has problems doing those operations, and subsequently thereafter, then you have a bad drive. See if there is a firmware update for your drive (not driver, firmware). The manufacturer may have released a firmware update to address reading issues of discs. One other probability is that this particular pressing of Skyfall was a bad batch. The solution would be to buy a copy from some where nowhere near you. Or buy from Amazon. Or wait a couple months for a fresh stock to come in.
  13. I went with a LG BP620C from Costco. The interface can be simple cuz you can move apps to the dock that shows up when you start up the player. I've found the remotes/remote sensor to be spotty (there are days where I could point the remote almost directly at it and it would still not register the input). But your mileage may vary.
  14. We're looking at some solutions to remedy the issue.
  15. Gundam UC ep. 6 1st 7-minutes preview, "Two Worlds, Two Tomorrows" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4v7223NnggE
  16. Or both. "Remember: Short, controlled bursts." Try remembering that on Hard-setting and you're being rushed.
  17. Yes. I was watching a Youtuber stream his single-player campaign run through after I posted that message. Apparently the PC-version was a straight 'port and didn't support certain graphics options so the game crashed during the stream. Either Youtuber couldn't shot (which is always a possibility but unlikely because I've watched his other gameplays and he's not a bad shot) OR the hit-detection was bad that it doesn't detect center-of-mass hits. The physics engine seems to need a lot of work. Hopefully that patch did something. I definitely won't pick this up (mostly because I really don't have time) but Jeebus, this game looks like a 1st release beta.
  18. If you don't intend to read the book, aren't interested in comic books, nor interested in cwmodels artwork or trials and tribulations of getting a book published, then refrain from posting.
  19. The walkthroughs are up on Youtube. So watch in delight, horror, disgust, etc.
  20. Because it's probably easier than trying to recall old cast members who may have conflicting schedules.
  21. Maybe. Maybe not. Macross 13 was a testbed for the Sound Jamming System and implementing updates to the New Macross design, which is why it looks the way it does. And since it wasn't attached to a Island or City unit, it was beefed up for combat. Not because it was using Meltran tech. That's not to say it doesn't use Zentran/Meltran tech. But by this point in time, the amount of Zentradi/Meltrandi tech in UN/NUN tech is probably moot. The color scheme is usually arbitrary except to add to the "cool"-ness factor. It's more of a production thing of late as they have been using purple for "villian"-roles.
  22. Wasn't really "axed" per se. It was conceived as a web series, which SyFy considered putting on TV as a backdoor pilot, but then went back to being a web-series/TV movie.
  23. It might be MG-sized, but it's a custom kit, hence the price.
  24. How about side-stories as web series leading up to Episode 7? I don't know if I want to suffer through 2-3 extra $100-200 million 2-hour theater outings just make way for Episode 7...and 8...and 9. The draw on that would be they don't need to hire a big name to draw in the crowds and it would be great viral marketing.
