  1. The Xbox version only installs 17GB onto the Xbone hard drive (due to hardware decoding). The PC version installs 48 GB of data, of which 35GB is uncompressed audio. Let's say you install it to a SSD, of which most sold, don't have terabytes of space, like 256GB or less. Larger SSDs are expensive, hence why people are buying the smaller sizes. Now it's not textures, or image files used to help render the game. It's just uncompressed audio. If it was images, then most people would be okay with that, but it's audio. Respawn Ent. said it is to help older computers who don't have the processing power to decode compressed audio files and play them while running the game. To most modern computers, almost all gaming computers, and even computers used for AV editing/image processing, this seems silly. Those computers can surely handle simple audio decoding. Most computers within the past 10 years can handle simple audio decoding. Considering we have been using compressed audio for a good 20+ years, the idea of dropping 35GB of uncompressed audio onto your hard drive is, as I've said, silly. Decoding audio should be a trivial matter, yet here we are with 35GB of uncompressed audio. It's not a buy-stopper, more like a "Seriously?".
  2. Watch Dogs minimum specs: https://twitter.com/Design_Cave/status/441672868569821184 He also notes: https://twitter.com/Design_Cave/status/443034550092832768
  3. I would expect so. My worry is how it will hold up after a month? Will people flock back to other games after the hype to Titanfall wears off. I may pick up Titanfall when it goes on sale in a month or 2, but I think I'll pass for now.
  4. Why the PC version of Titanfall is a 48GB install: "It's almost all audio," explains Respawn.
  5. Titanfall has fallen... ...AND you need to patch it because... Titanfall (PC) impressions: Frenetically fun robot violence -- when the servers work After connection glitches at launch, EA issues Titanfall patch overnight Oh and you'll need at least 35GB of free space...just for uncompressed audio.
  6. Re: Ep 22. Like someone on YT said, I miss the sound of those GN drives.
  7. Who is your carrier and/or ISP?
  8. The fact that it is on Deviant Art should tell you something... http://rzalex.deviantart.com/
  9. Users can't change thread titles. Which thread and why?
  10. Gawd, those are horrible looking suits. Makes me want to go back and watch Kamen Rider Den-O.
  11. I know the VFX shots are expensive, but the trailer needs less human, more King of Monsters.
  12. Do you have a budget? No OC? No video processing? No photo editing? Then the i5 will be more than enough. I'd stay away from the Z87 chipset if you are not planning on OCing or getting a non-K CPU, if you can help it (which will probably be no since many manufacturers are pushing the Z87 chipset). The non-K CPUs have Intel Virtualization Tech for Directed I/O, vPro which the Z87 doesn't support. The K-versions strip out those features but allows you to OC. The non-K versions have all those features, but locks down the CPU so you can't OC (you can OC, but it's a real PITA). You'll pay a premium for the Z87 but end up not being able to take advantage of it. A Q87 or H87 motherboard would be a better choice. If you want a Z87, I'd get a cheaper one than those, like the ASUS Z87-A or GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-D3H. Any after-market cooler will probably be better than the stock cooler.
  13. Stickers? If you want to match the gloss or dull clear coat; before. Otherwise, doesn't matter. Transfer decals? Always before the clear coat.
  14. 4 years later...finally it's ending.

  16. That's if you get killed/respawn. I ran into more than a few instances where I was still alive and had my Titan ready for combat but I didn't call it down yet. Point-blank range with a rocket launcher..... I ran into a few instances where the grunts just stood there. I played a round where the other team was evac-ing and a grunt just stood there for a while until I killed it. I figured out how to change my loadouts in-round on my second play-through. But since the round moves fairly quickly, I found it easier to just pick my loadout and run with it all round. Yeah, I find the placement of ledges, signs and such very annoying when I'm trying to scale a building. And yes, bounce off opposing walls to scale a building if you can. Going straight up doesn't work as well. Especially, if you're like me and find yourself in a tight alley and need an exit. And I did see a few instances where a Titan dropped right on a heavily damaged Titan and killed it. There are a few instances where you see people dropping a Titan on other Titans, other players, etc. It's funny.
  17. I can test on my testing box but I suspect it would be fine. If anyone else has any Titanfall questions while the beta is still active, let me know.
  18. Maybe. If you've played COD on the Xbox, then this is COD with mechs. As for your computer, these are the minimum specs: How old is your computer? And since it is due out for the Xbox 360, one could probably run it on low settings on PC and get away with it.
  19. You can change some things about your character and Titan. The beta is limited to class/gender/loadout and model/loadout, respectively. The full game may open up more options. I don't recall seeing any options for colors, emblems, or that sorta thing.
