  1. It was the most talked about show last night apparently. ‘Sharknado 2’ Draws Syfy Record 3.9 Million Viewers
  2. So it's a Garfish with a big pointy thing on it and extra pods on the side. M'kay.
  3. Most licenses work by someone buys the rights for X-amount of money. Then, the licensee receives a small portion of the profits from whatever the licensor does with the property. BTW, Macguire Ent. and WB have 3 more years to do something with the property or lose the trademark (based on a 10-year renewal cycle). Keep in mind some studios buy up rights just to keep them from going elsewhere. On the subject of the KS: Oh come on RT fans, dig deeper! Empty those wallets! You still have a full week left. If Tommy and co. come back to any crowdfunding site, I would seriously consider reporting them for fraud on whatever site they use. This KS is on it's way to doom-vile. If they ask for money again from donors, that would be very very very suspicious.
  4. MechaCon doesn't have the number of people that SDCC had. SDCC was their big moment due to the size. SDCC has 130,000+ unique attendees (in 2013). AX has 80,000+ unique attendees (in 2013). MechaCon has somewhere around 5,000 attendees (based on 2012). And as Seto mentioned, anybody who has heard about the KS would have likely decided to pledged or not. SDCC was their big moment. And it looks like that failed to materialize anything.
  5. Crytek USA Collapses, Sells Game IP to Other Developers
  6. Trailer 2 from SDCC. No Youtube video yet. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/new-trailer-debuts-christopher-nolans-722320
  7. I'm still taking bets on the final amount. Only 8 days left to make a bet.
  8. I'm still waiting to hear for a "Trans-Am" feature. It's got GN Buster Swords, and GN-drive cone-engines on the lower section.
  9. Way ahead of you: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=41328&p=1137195 Yes, please stop.
  10. Hence "all". Reboot the team, the franchise, the whole caboodle. So at ~9 days left, are we ready to make bets on the final donor amount? Incentives for the one who comes closest? Let's start a Kickstarter project!
  11. The only "Clean Slate" at this point is something I've been arguing for a long time, a reboot, franchise and all. Their own designs, story, etc. No more dealing with other people's IP. Jeebus, they're already designing stuff for this KS project. How bloody hard would it be to create a new VF-1? There are plenty of other fighter jets out there to follow. And unless something dramatic happens, it won't happen. And they'll forever be in this wash-rince-repeat cycle. This Kickstarter doesn't look like it's going to happen through donors. Tommy said they'll try other means. Well, if donor response, most of their own fans, was tepid at best, what do they think the response will be elsewhere? I see cone things on the back again of the lower half. GN Drives seem to be all the rage. And the pods on the side, from the back side, remind me of the Volga-class from Gundam 00 the Movie -A wakening of the Trailblazer-. And yeah, the GN Buster Swords aren't helping the look either.
  12. Considering where they left off, Samug's role in the story is coming to an end so there's not much left to see of him.
  13. We're about 2 days ahead of you: So what. Meh.
  14. One other thing to keep in mind is that like many studios and networks, Japan is looking to cut out the middle-man like licensors. It cuts into their cut of the profits. Sites like Crunchyroll and Youtube are much better for simulcast viewing, especially if the show is uploaded for streaming the following day. Or release on DVD/Blu-ray themselves. Bandai Visual has done with various Gundam series lately.
  15. Yeah. This is why Academy wouldn't make any sense. Unless it's for diehards, in which case, good for them. But potential to bring in new fans, "Outlook no so Good". And this is why manga side-stories work when they are marketed with a animated production. They run in parallel and have little to no impact on the main story. Anyone who watches the show doesn't have to run out and grab a comic just to know why this or why that. If you make the viewer do more than just watch the show, you're asking them to make more of an effort. That doesn't work most of the time. If the KS was for just a reboot, I think they would be much better. If they did it without the do-it-for-Carl, or with the current people running the franchise, they would probably be funded by now.
  16. WTH? RT Academy artbooks? Shouldn't they try getting the show made first? If they said let's start a KS-project to reboot the series, heck, if they decided to reboot the series, I think the networks would probably hop on board with that idea.
  17. How can you hate on a near-extinct rodent who had to to deal with freakin' dinosaurs??? They had a rough life! Yes, if we're a bunch of rabid bullies, what are the Tranformers/G.I. Joe-fans? Fascist dictators?
  18. I can't tell people what to do with their money. That was one of the first things I said. I just offer information so that people can make an informed decision. If people want to donate to the Kickstarter project with my information, good for them. If not, good for them. Explain to me, how I'm a bully?
  19. Yeah, welcome to the club buddy.
  20. If you haven't seen the leaked Flash pilot, I'll keep this spoiler'd. It will be interesting to see how they address that he is involved with Teryl Rothery, aka, Jean Loring, Moria's attorney from S2.
  21. Floor pics of the helmet: Also, not sure if those are bees or ants with wings, but if they're the latter, isn't that a bad sign cuz that means the ants are in heat and there should be some Barry White music playing?
