A new thread can be made when a trailer drops. This news sounds like a “Maybe-maybe-maybe” idea. No script, no cast, just a thought floating on the interwebs.

Yeah, I'm still giving MSI the 🤨 until reviews on that Intel chipset are out. Arc graphics are not as mature as Radeon 780M on the Z1 so we'll have to see how well it performs. -
The original deployed ARMDs? No. To be implemented (next Tuesday 😁). The DYRL versions did have a fold drive, just never seen on screen.

Unfortunately, that only works for the Harrier since the exhaust nozzles are closer to the middle of the aircraft. Deploying the legs like that is akin to changing to GERWALK-mode mid-maneuver. And when dealing with another VF-type aircraft, the effect negated since the other aircraft could pull the same tactic (essentially hitting the brakes, and they fly past you).

Hopefully the writers takes advantage of their characters and actors (Jodie's Doctor suffered from writers who didn't write good scripts). Doubt it. Really doubt it. We will see more "mystical" villains this season. https://screenrant.com/doctor-who-ncuti-gatwa-toymaker-minions-story-future/

So I assume Rebel Moon is heading toward guilty-pleasure territory? MST3K-territory? Well here's Part 2's trailer to start laughing at.

All productions essentially stopped during the strikes. When that happened, production crews were free to move to other projects, sets were torn down, VFX houses moved on to their next projects. Sound stage rentals basically went un-used. Writing, re-writes and re-shoots couldn't happen. That screws up scheduling to the Nth degree (especially since the actors went on strike too). Now that everyone is going back to work, you can't just pick up where you left off, especially when you are competing with other productions for resources. Same goes for the actors, production crews, sound stages, etc. They're all booked well in advanced. If a production had their spot booked at a time after the strike ended, do you think they would give up their spot for a production that got cutoff during the strikes and blew past their deadlines, maybe having to wait months for the next opening? That means those productions would be set back and they would have to get to the back of the queue. Even if a soundstage was booked and a production still had it by the time the strikes ended, they've lost x-months where nothing happened. They can do what they can but still have to be out of there for the next production that had that venue reserved. So a lot of these productions which are being pushed back are because they, essentially, lost their spot and have to re-queue to make it finish line. And even if they are allowed to keep their spots, that pushes every other reservation back so now those production's deadlines are pushed back and everyone's releases are delayed x-amount of time.

Is there a limit to how many times one can see the same game engines/game types? Maybe it's me, but all these trailers from the Gaming Awards look like I've seen them on different games. Jurassic Park: Survival looks like Alien: Isolation. Black Myth: Wukong's use of the Unreal Engine reminds me of Jedi:Fallen Order/Jedi Survivor.- 6831 replies

To also be fair, they did battle against mostly fighter jets and walking fighter jets for most of the conflict so their assessment was still mostly true. Encounters with powered armor were rare until the latter half of the conflict. -

As long as they tossed the boring B-stories that did nothing for the show, they may have a much tighter story arc.

Because why not? Pilots were getting into hand-to-hand combat situations. Why not have a knife? Seeing that later VFs incorporated a combat knife, a bayonet wasn't a bad idea. VF-11s did have wing hardpoints. They just didn't show it on-screen that much. -

Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!

In most cases, yes. The SV-51 was unique with its LiftSystem™ fan jets. But it lacks auxiliary thrusters that other VFs had. And if the legs provide VTOL capabilities and the fan jet is useless in space (the SV-51 was designed from the get-go to be use in atmosphere), then the fan jet is unnecessary. -

Extra ordnance & thrust capacity. -
Funny that you mention that cuz here's a quote from the Vanity Fair article: I can see Filoni is trying to flesh out things post-Empire, but he's also holding back (hence, I'm being underwhelmed by the shows we have). The shows should come to some narrative ending each season, otherwise we get a "That's it????"-kind of ending. Like with Ashoka. I do appreciate Filoni is trying to not repeat sequels cookie cutter plots that they were.

Eclipse? Or Freedom? Eclipse is a manga series which is also currently on the Youtube channel. Freedom is a movie coming out early 2024. There's no new TV series for Seed in production.- 3717 replies

Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!
azrael replied to Valkyrie Driver's topic in Movies and TV Series
It's hearsay and conjecture based on text in the Master File books and some materials for the YF-29. As mentioned, we don't have any real data nor evidence to back up any of it. Is any of it actually canon? 🤷♂️ As @sketchley has indicated, people may be mis-interpreting the YF-24 destructive capabilities in terms of firepower when its power may be in its engine/airframe performance and maneuverability. But since we don't have any documented evidence of that either...🤷♂️ -
I don't think he has a choice about the direction KK put the franchise on. She's still in charge, unfortunately. I am somewhat glad they put him in charge, but the stuff coming out from his neck of the woods has been... underwhelming of late. And I don't know how much patience the suits will have with him if he doesn't bring the numbers up (and it's not helping that streaming subscription prices keep going up making it less attractive to continue).

If you think you will end up using this mostly for work, then I would go with the multi-monitor setup. What configuration you want will depend on if you decide to keep those old monitors around or how many you want to keep. There's no rule book. It just depends on your space and workflow. -

azrael replied to azrael's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It would be best to look at your workflow. For ergonomics, you'll want your main monitor front¢er or in a direct-eye-level. Ultra-wides are good if you need to look at a lot of information at one time without horizontal scrolling. That why content creators and Excel users like that form factor; there's little, if any, horizontal scrolling (or vertical if you are placing it in the vertical orientation). It sounds like you're thinking of the sideways-T configuration. I think it would help us to know what your usage is. That could help us recommend a monitor configuration. -
Advanced Destroid Program (Destroid Upgrades)
azrael replied to cheemingwan1234's topic in Movies and TV Series
Oh the infamous "make Destroids better"-thread. Might as well just use the Cheyenne II. It's a ADR-spec that is also an MBR. The old Tomahawk, Phalanx and Defender all used the same legs but with different stuff added on. All 3 are walking turrets. And their weapons are already noted as interchangeable. There's no evidence EX-Gears actually improved pilot aiming. Destroids already use a sophisticated FCS with AI support and radar with excellent target tracking. Destroids aren't THAT big so they don't have THAT big of a reactor to power everything. Pin-point barrier and ECA use power dedicated to powering weapons which have significantly more firepower than most VFs. -
