  1. Nice additions such as the GT grill lights, front spoiler, rear honeycomb and GS/GT bonnet. Start out as a Falcon 500 or GS (going by the shorty window trim and no wheel arch trim)? 302C or 351C? Locking petrol cap, got that too. The GT one looks better, but doesn't lock. Did you have to order the 12-slotters custom for the wider tyres? I'm thinking late '73-early '75... She's a 'beaut...
  2. REDDSUN1: The front seats were $750.ooUS to trim, using the existing trim as a pattern for Heidi, the trimmer. The back seats are front bucket foams with the middle filled in to make it like a bench seat. That will be around $1000.ooUS. That's a reasonable ballpark figure for custom interior seat trim...at least in the Detroit area. I supplied the leather and prototype cloth, and she made the modified "XBGT" inserts per tape lines and film pics. How crazy are you trying to get with the trim? Just modifying the trim cover, or modding the foam as well? Timing? Piping (welt) isn't hard to add to a cover. It just gets added into the sandwich as it gets sewn. Any pics of your Falcy?
  3. REDDSUN1: Here's an option for the Falcy seats for you. They're Chrysler SRT seats out of a current LC22 Challenger, on manual frames from a JC49 Journey (shaving 17lbs.), with slight foam mods in the front cushion, trimmed to look like an XBGT. With the fat bolsters and scale, it looks a 'beaut in the Falcy. The only issue is the mounting feet hole locations. They're off by .5" on either side, and you have to make a spacer for the outboard rear track mounts. They're trimmed in leather and prototype Ford B299 cloth. I'm almost 6ft. and don't have an issue with head clearance. The modern frames are better with dual recliners that lock on both sides, instead of the single little triangle metal bit on the original seats that just pivot freely, and they meet 202A head impact criteria. Just an idea...
  4. Just got two of the Angelbird kits yesterday, and a small, complimentary brown bag of some sort of rice puff snacks. We can't translate what it is, but the logo says BEFCO, and it smells like soy sauce. Happy anniversary! Anyone else get something similar?
  5. I'd gladly move the 1:3000 Macross over to make room for a 1:72 Monster on the main shelf. It would certainly be the single largest item in the collection outside of the VFM50 Minmay. I'm more than happy to pay extra for time and supplies. Just let us know, please.

    Macross figures

"...because I am a Macross consumer whore." - Lolicon. Yep! That about sums it up. I have a shelf with most of the Minmay/Minmei figs out there because she's just as integral to the story as the valks. It might also have something to do with growing up and puberty, thinking she was kinda cute in the Chinese dresses too. We have another shelf with heroines from several series, because we like the characters, the poses, and admittedly the "perv factor" of some of them. The fiancee' even comments on some of them, saying that "they're hot", so we'll get them when browsing. It's art to us. She even admits to a couple of them "turning her on", so that's a plus in my book. Although I think she's a little jealous or something, because she hates Minmay/Minmei, and won't Cosplay her, and dislikes me getting the figs whenever they become available.
  7. Been thinking about how to do the kit as far as mods. The first step is to sand all of the lettering and striping off of the base. Think about scale here...the paint would be 6" high! The rails will probably get recessed as well...maybe use HO or N scale rails for detail. Looking through the Design Works manual with the Macross, I'm probably going to add in the spaces on the side of the turntables like the pic with the super valk sitting on it. It's definitely getting a roof with led strip lighting running the length of it. Given the number of kits on pre-order, putting a couple of sets face-to-face might be interesting...make it so you have to look through open bay doors or the ends. Who knows yet.
  8. So THAT'S what the little white blobs on the sprues are supposed to look like. There's going to be some time spent painting with a one-hair brush.
  9. Here's the chain bases (6 sets) vs. the factory for scale and detail comparison.
  10. If possible, I'd like a copy of the V2 Monster...always loved that design. Thanks.
  11. Going dull...would clearcoat stop the oxidation if applied lightly?
  12. It'd be nice to get one, just for the cool factor. Bet they're going to cost though.
  13. Here's the comparison pic of the production kits for size comparison. None are spot on, but "close" would be the 1:144 pilot in the 1:72 Glaug, with 1:100 valks and destroids. The Kamjin Armoured Space Suit might go with 1:72 valks.
  14. Yes, it will take two of the chain bases to equal the height of the factory wall...figure 8 for the back walls and 8 for the base, ending up with a slightly bigger model than the 1:100 factory. I put the older valks next to the base and they look lame in comparison to the chain bases detail. The Wave kits however, look the part with all of their detail. We went to Jo-Ann fabrics (for wedding dress material), and stopped by the jewelry section, finding several sizes of chains that would work for the diorama. Even some of the poly strings for necklaces would work for power cables and fuel lines...just an idea for resources. MechTech: Thanks for the info. I'll look the Preiser figures up.
