    Ninjas, high-tech, the bullet train, Shinjuku, and an assasin with a samurai sword... The images of Japan has not changed so much after "You Only Live Twice." The train scenes look like the Mission Impossible movie. The tower building looks like Nakatomi Plaza. The Shinjuku scene resembles that of Lost in Translation. Ninjas riding bikes came from Black Rain and that 007 movie about 50 years ago? The guy with sword looks like the enemy robot from Robocop 3. Many movie scenes come to my mind...

    Thanks for your reply. I have been wondering if I should write those things or not. As a Japanese, I have been thinking Yamato 2199 is filled with our cultural backgrounds. I found a picture. This is what they were reading.

    It seems that Mamoru handed down the paperback of Chuya Nakahara's poem to Sanada-san. He was reading it in the messroom in the chapter 4 or 5. It looked like an Iwanami-Shinsho paperback. Mamoru said, 「汚れつちまつた悲しみに」"Yogorechimatta Kanashimi ni" and it is the title of Nakahara's poem. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C5%ABya_Nakahara To enjoy this movie more, I should learn more about some literary and historical things. Why historical? "Yamato Keikaku","Izumo Keikaku","Amaterasu", and "Amano-Iwato Hiraku" all came from the ancient terms from the Japanese historical publications; Nihon-Shoki and Kojiki written about 1,300 years ago. Ah, without such knowledge, you could enjoy the show, no worry. I just want to know what the creators imply and want to say. That could be the clue of the story of Yamato 2199.

    I went to Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) and watched the talk show of AKB0048 at the Satelight booth. I heard Kawamori-san would appear the show on the Niconico live yesterday. He introduced the climax scenes about the AKB anime mainly, and said about MF a little; he had used amateurs as a VA before, but in the AKB anime, he should handle with 9 amateurs simultaneously, so it was a hard work. Well, there were nothing new about the next works. He designed a new robot about a Subaru car. Like Nissan DUALIS.

    OMG... *facepalm* This IS the divide between Japan and the other countries... Everybody said Patlabor the 2nd movie was a masterpiece 20 years ago in Japan. You know many fans admire Ghost in the Shell the movie, but seems some of them don't know how great that Patlabor movie also was. Can't believe it. I checked the Wikipedia page of the 2nd movie. Its mecha designers were like a "Dream Team," wow... Izubuchi, Kawamori, Katoki Hajime, and Kousuke Fujishima. And in the article, there are some very interesting things. Oshii, Katsuhiro Otomo, and James Cameron had a dinner together? And Cameron pointed out Rainbow Bridge saying "the bridge!" and got exited? Wow.

    So you guys went to the venue yesterday? Just a coincidence, but both May'n and Megumi Nakajima are outside of Japan simultaneously today. May'n is in Malaysia, and Nakajima-san is in Hong Kong. According to the 2 channel May'n thread, about 5 fans in Japan are in Malaysia now. And the set list yesterday was like this; Heat, Kimishinitamoukotonakare, Chase the World and Aozora. No Macross songs? That acapella song she sang was Diamond Crevasse. Hm.

    The event of FB7 was held in Ikebukuro today and some members here went there, I guess. I wonder the poster distributed there adopts this new picture or not. I read the customers' comments on the Amazon JPN web page. It has been severely criticized, but those opinions resemble mine what I said on the Macross SpeakerPODcast Episode 7. Hmm.

    Hmmmmmmm. I could buy some of them at a certain shop in Tokyo. I wonder why... The shop accepts the mail order, but there are no Macross Kyun-charas on the list.

    Those are the prizes of the lottery; くじ, so you can't buy them. Just win it. It started from March 8th in Japan. If some of them remained unsold, they would be sold at Lashinbang, Liberty or some other shops like those. The shops deal with second-hands goodies. Anyway, you should go to Akihabara if you really want.
