There are some who might say it's just the same horse of a different color over on the other side of that fence; that the "more opportunities to win" is much less applicable unless you're with one of the big multi car outfits like Robert Yates, Joe Gibbs, or DEI, or Evernham, etc. etc...

WHAT. THE. F--K?! In a press conference from Chicagoland Speedway just minutes ago, F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya has announced he will be joining Chip Ganassi Racing for the 2007 season........IN NASCAR NEXTEL CUP?! [hmm, I bet this means a hefty pay cut?] Boris Said from American road racing circles. Then Marcus Ambrose from Aussie V8 Supercars. Now F1 has defectors? To NASCAR? Are these the end days? "--What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor, real wrath of God type stuff. --Exactly. --Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies. Rivers and seas boiling. --Forty years of darkness. Earthquakes, volcanoes... --The dead rising from the grave. --Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together--mass hysteria."

Ah, so that's what happened to kill off Sealab. Eric Estrada was pretty funny too.
-
heh heh heh "red and black, poison lack. red and yellow, kill a fellow."

What about Venturi? They're supposed to be "the French Ferrari" or something, aren't they? Are they considered good cars [as supercars go]?
-
Oh yeah, how could I forget Harvey Birdman? Also some pretty funny stuff. But yeah, WTF is with the live action movies and shows that are finding their way into the scheduling on CN? Hel-lo?! If I wanted to see that s--t, I wouldn't have tuned in to the Cartoon Network! And yes, their constant fiddling/changing of the show lineups makes one want to take a bat to somebody's cranium. Honestly, about the only reason I even tune into that channel anymore is for AS shows. The crap they show the other 20-something hours of the day sucks lint from the crack of a dead whore's arse.

I enjoy Robot Chicken, ATHF, Venture Bros, as far as original programming. Tom Goes To The Mayor just isn't funny to me at all. Sorry to see the Boondocks success seems to be waning....what happened to the new eps?

Some might say it's tantamount to the same thing. Doesn't Audi own Bentley or something? They were supposed to have shared technical information/support on some level, I believe. IIRC, that's why Bentley switched from Dunlops to Michelins, so on and so forth. Conspiracy theorists might even argue that Bentley got "the nod" that year...

Goodwood Festival of Speed: "Allan McNish will drive the Audi R10 TDI at the "Festival of Speed" at Goodwood. Le Mans record winner Tom Kristensen will be seen at the wheel of the Bentley Speed 8 in Goodwood, the car that helped him clinch the 2003 Le Mans victory. Richard Petty, the winningest driver in the history of NASCAR, will be reunited with his 1972 Dodge Charger race car."

Well, when you think about it, the Mustang's never been an exceptional car--at least, from the factory. The Mustang platform has always been derived from other existing chassis bases; the original was based on the econo-box Falcon, after all. It's [arguably] been so popular with enthusiasts due to the fact that its traditionally been such a good "starting point," a platform that's relatively easy to upgrade and improve the performance on.

Most Wanted Unproduced Macross Toy By Yamato
reddsun1 replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
Well, Destroids would be cool. But I've already got some of the old Exo Squad re-issues, so they wouldn't be as coveted as some other enemy mecha. I want a DYRL male power armor, dammit! -
Meanwhile, Ford will continue to sell Mustangs like gangbusters in the interim. Not that that matters much though--they're still in pretty rough shape financially, aren't they? Oh well, I'm sure Chrysler is coming into this knowing they won't match the Mustang in sheer volume of sales. But that will work to the advantage of Dodge enthusiasts? Future collectibility is more readily assured. I concur with earlier posts: expect "SRT" and other versions to come at considerable markups. $36-40K sticker price wouldn't surprise me a bit. I think I like Doug Schramm's front fascia better

LOL, here it is! In all it's ugly truth! Recently uncovered lost footage from the "missing" period of the Man of Steele's past. The real reason Superman left, and had to make his comeback!

Braniac, huh? Yeah, I can see where this is going..... "Look, I just want some pants. A decent pair of pants!" "Solomon Grundy want pants too!"

Okay, so we've got Green Goblin [iI?], Sandman, and more than likely Venom? Well, this doesn't bode well for the not-going-to-suck-balls-and-be-a-total-let-down-to-the-series factor. Trying to cram so many baddies into a single picture will likely lead to rushed or incomplete-feeling story pacing, weakened character development, and degrade into a blow-em-up flash and fight fest. And oh yeah--Spidey's "new" black outfit sucks, compared to the comic version. It looks like he just put the old suit in the washing machine and added black dye.

Hmm, sounds like you could just as easily be describing cities in the US. Well, except maybe the rioting. We only seem to want to do that sort of thing over serious, meaningful issues.....like NBA championships. But I think I understand where you're coming from. When I went to Quebec, there was this very strong sense of connection with France and French culture--and a lot of the "French" natives did seem to have a sort of haughty aire about them. But I try to give France the benefit of the doubt. Their culture is regarded as one of the most socially and culturally "mature," is it not? The culture would--at a glance--seem steeped in ideals like social enlightenment, personal liberty, patriotism and such [again, at a glance]. "Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite" eh? Wow, what if France ended up facing Germany in the finals? Talk about historic irony, eh? Would finally give the French the chance to "invade" Germany and take the win?
-
Odd. What is it? What is it that seems to give the French some inate ability to illicit the ire and contempt of most of the rest of the civilized world?

Has Anyone Seen This Clip? Where's It From?
reddsun1 replied to Chthonic's topic in Movies and TV Series
LOL, those vids are great. Especially the Robotech: Top Gun one. Seen it before posted here, IIRC, but still good for a chuckle. Pretty cool how the animation can be made to fit so well with the movie soundtrack. -
What. The. F---?! "My name is Mariah and I hate pickles....pickles are destroying my life!" What kind of fu--ed up bulls--t made-up-disability-pension-scam crap is that supposed to be?! But I nearly rolled out of my chair laughing when I heard this part: "...We wanted to see firsthand the extent of Mariah's pickle phobia. So we sent her to the Patterson Pickle Factory, where she would come face to face with thousands upon thousands....of pickles!" Man, that's just some sick, sadistic s--t. I kept expecting to hear some maniacal MWA HA HA HA HA HA HA! in the background.

It's panedmonium in Berlin! Germany wins 4-2 in penalty kick pd. Bedlam threatens to ensue as a scuffle breaks out on the field between Argentine players and German asst coach...

LMAO, that's friggin cool! I bet it does wonders for getting rid of tail-gaters. A twin-engined scooter in the works? This guy is in-sane. But I mean that in a good way. Couldn't he have picked a larger car, though? Lord knows, I wouldn't want that intake so close to me if I were driving it. I keep thinking of that Navy footage where the deck worker gets sucked up into the intake of an A-6 as it's prepping for takeoff.
-
I dunno, this guy that's playing Supes is a scrawny little cuss ain't he? Has he got small hands too? Yeah, I know--the living in a solar system with only one yellow sun, yaddah yaddah yaddah. But still, this guy looks like: if things had gone differently; if Krypton hadn't exploded, and he'd lived out a "normal" life, he looks like he ought to have gotten his arse kicked every day in school.
-
500hp? Well, why didn't you say so? In that case--stand on it and watch that smoke! Actually, those Cragars do come in 17's, and only about $60 a pop. Yeah, I like the Torq Thrust II's too. Eventually, I'd like to get some 16"x8"s and 17"x11"s to slap under my ride.
-
Those 15" steel wheels are likely cheaper $$, which I'm guessing is part of what makes them an attractive option? But going even to a 16" will open up more options as far as available rubber to go on 'em. Also, bear one thing in mind if you plan on running that meaty 10" wide wheel: the size of the contact patch will be pretty big. Sure, it's gonna look tough, with those ultra wide rear meats, but that wider contact patch will require more power/rpm's to break traction, and thus mean you'll be flogging your engine more; there'll be a lot more sustained time way up in the rpm band. The sidewalls on a way-tall tire like you have in mind will also be more prone to flex longitudinally [sp?] as well as laterally--the rear tires of top fuel dragsters provide a good, exaggerated example of what I mean. That too, could possibly make it harder to break traction?

Yes, I'll go with Raptor's questions on this one. The intended use and vehicle would help. That dia seems a bit tall. Try looking at the charts here: http://www.sascosports.com/products/specs.php?type_id=17. Lots of different tire specs, and some general info links at the bottom of the page. The closest thing I saw to your requested dia would be a Goodyear CAN AM slick [yikes!]. Or try Bob Woodman's page. Check under Goodyear, under the Sports GT link. The Eagle G-19 is about the only one I saw that might be the size you're looking for.
