Have you ever seen something SO bad, it manages to transcend to a state of (slight) awesome? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AD5zaaF7dDY"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AD5zaaF7dDY I swear, the bad guy's expression when the car goes over the cliff is just golden.

My guess is: they want to chip away at Mustang/Camaro sales; and they're calculating that traditional buyers looking for a top-line performance model wouldn't even look at it unless it's got a similar powerplant. They're wagering that for [American] buyers the assumption is: performance image = V8

Any other "Thing" fans out there?

hehe, I'm becoming such a Capt Kirk in my old age. First thought that came to mind for me at that scene was: what a cute bum the girl in the jumpsuit next to L.G. Jr. had [and what bad, 80's hair]. -

I dunno. I must disagree on this point--at least, in regards to Carpenter's Thing. I'd assert that the SFX was a major deal for this one. Back in the day, this was some mind-blowing sh*t; at least to an 80's kid like myself. I remember this being one of those movies that, when it came on TV, you call your buddy/relative into the living room for the best part(s): "hey ____, come check this out, man!" ...then wait for the collective *whoooooaaaaaa!* moment [for instance: the "heart attack" scene] -
does anybody else think the Evil Queen is smokin' hot?

hehe, effin' A, man! Good on ya! Every MW member that goes to see this movie needs to brag on you, show our support: "the guy who designed that ship is a member on our message forum." But Bruce's success was by accident. We only see "him" at the end of Jaws because he malfunctioned during most of the filming. Still made for a damned good, suspensful movie, though. -

Seriously? People should wait for the owner to return to this car. So they can point and laugh at him/her openly...

WORST Sci-Fi TV series of all time.....
reddsun1 replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Wait a minute---so you're insinuating that the "regular" Dr. Who is for adults? I'm sorry, but there isn't any argument--rational, empassioned, or otherwise--in favor of taking this show seriously that can't be trumped by the same one-word rebuttal: Daleks. Seriously? "Run for your lives! It's the Daleks!" **Yes, the Daleks! Ruthless, evil, authoritarian beings, bent on the conquest and conformity of all they encounter--er, so long as all their environments have perfectly level, polished floors...** "--Oh noes! Whats we gonna do?! Them Daleks is comin'! --Uh, I dunno! Maybe go up some stairs?" ed: okay, it's obvious I've not had much exposure to the good Doctor. I do have vague childhood memories of the opening credits/theme, a red phone booth, and Tom Baker [the 4th Dr.?] I'm sure in the oh, 30-something-years that they've rampaged across the galaxies on TV, someone's probably addressed these obvious issues. But, still.- 279 replies

I love the lines of the early P-40's. Effing gorgeous planes. People can dog on 'em all they want--these planes [and the Airacobras too, for that matter] proved they were "good enough," held the line until better designs could come along and turn the tides for the Allies. This one's funny, every time I see it...

Is it just me, or does that Focke Wulf look like it's a 3/4 scale version? ed: Wow. One can get a full-scale replica of a Fw-190, with the sufficient resources. Half-a-mil will get you a full scale P-51, if that suits your tastes. And from a German company, no less. Oh, the irony. http://www.flugwerk.de/html/page.php?GID=20&SID=5

Meh. I'm just not feelin' it. The skeptic in me says: there's just no way they're ever gonna be able to top... "...you gotta be fu**in' kiddin' me!" Just dwarfs, standing on the shoulders of giants... [coincidentally: John C. actually is a pretty tall fella, isn't he?]
