  1. Yeah, there's been trouble lately. I usually check there multiple times a week for any updates and sometimes I get through -- sometimes I don't. Usually this occurs just before a new entry, but this server problem is new. I also wish they were adding more reviews, but I guess you can't add what isn't submitted, right? Anyway, I'm one of those "list freaks" where I like to keep a list of what's been released or is on the way. Of course, Fantoysia does an excellent job of this, but like I said, I got an issue of making my own checklists of the toys/models I will never have .
  2. A very nice piece, indeed. I guess it could be the "chunky monkey" of Gundam? Below is a pic behind some DX MSiAs, 1/60 F-91, MG RX-93 & Sazabi, and MSiAs at the bottom for size reference. I believe the scale of the Academy is around 1:43. There is also the General Marshal verison with Musha Armor. You may now return to your regularly scheduled thread.
  3. Ditto. Where I do not have enough cash to get multiple 1/48s, I would rather spend that money on gathering the 1/60s (also 1/72s). I can (hopefully) then have a greater amount of vehicles in replicating many different models from the movies and TV series. I mean, look at all of these and what may be coming..... 1. VF-1A Valkyrie (Hikaru Ichijo's Custom) 2. VF-1S Valkyrie (Roy Fokker's Custom) 3. VF-1A Valkyrie (Max Jenius' Custom) 4. VF-1A Valkyrie (Production) (TRU Japan) 5. VF-1A Valkyrie (Production) 6. VF-1J Super Valkyrie (Hikaru Ichijo's Custom) 7. VF-1S Strike Valkyrie (Roy Fokker's Custom) 8. VF-1J Super Valkyrie (Max Jenius' Custom) 9. VF-1J Super Valkyrie (Millia Fallyna Jenius' Custom) 10. VF-1D Valkyrie 11. VE-1 ELINT Seeker 12. VT-1 Super Ostrich 13. Queadluun-Rau (Millia Fallyna's Custom) ON THE WAY / Possibles..... 14. VF-1J Armored Valkyrie (Hikaru Ichijo's Custom) 15. GBP-1S Armor 16. Queadluun-Rau (Max Jenius' Custom) ??? 17. Queadluun-Rau (Production) ??? 18. Queadluun-Rau (Production- TV) ??? VERY HOPEFUL!! 19. HWR-00-Mk.II Monster ???? Although I would like to have a 1/48 at some point as a centerpiece, at this point in time I would like to take advantage of anyone who would like to cheaply sell their '60s and '72s to get $$$ for their '48 obsession.
  4. Too true. The sculpt in the Aug-03 DH magazine is much taller. SEE HERE
  5. Nice review and pics. BTW, Excellent idea displaying that Banpresto Miria figure in front!! Unfamiliar with that figure series, but excellent idea. (did I already say that?!? )

Thanks...most of the work was done by Jeff Russel...to whom I'm also grateful for permission to use his images and layout. (He did the "paper doll trick", not me.) I just resized the mecha, tossed out the non-Macross stuff, did a little relabelling, and drew the Zentradi...need to clean him up a bit one of these days. There's a bit of ambiguity about the measuring points for calculating scale, so there's a different version at http://www.sonic.net/~ewilen/Macross/scale...izes/index.html Also, Jeff's original is here--using still different size data. Yikes!!! You can have some serious fun with Jeff's site! a Battlestar vs. the Macross vs. a Star Destroyer vs. a Zentradi flagship vs. a Super Star Destroyer !!! EGADS!!! But seriously, thanks for the info!!

Found this link from an old Twin Moons post for a size comparison. It appears to have been adjusted by MW member ewilen. (BTW, I like the ability to "click and drag" them around the chart...nice touch!!) Size Comparisons

Well, here's the pic from a long long time ago, but I'm sure Graham will have actual product comparison photos.....wink-wink, nudge-nudge The -1S' shoulder is just about at or under the kneecap where the -1S above looks taller. The pic above --- photochopped?

INDEED!!! Nice pics there!! Me-thinks this will be very hard to pass by in waiting for Fodder verison!!
  11. You kiddin' me !?!?!? This has been gentle!!!
  12. That pretty much sums it up from my point of view. With the advent of parenthood (which, in turn, equals "no cash" ..... and forget about "spare cash"), I've found that I end up re-circulating what I've had in order to fill my current obsessive wants and needs. (Which is now 1/60s & 1/72s thanks to this lovely little site . 1/48s will still remain in that far-off place ........for now......"Come on LOTTERY!!") There are some items that I have that I toss back-and-forth about selling for money towards these Yammies, but, as Graham posted, if I have to think about it that much, then it's probably not a good idea. So excuse me while I go back to trying a list all of my SW crap.
  13. Looks like someone's been havin' a fun with a good ol' Tomcat....and I think it's pretty damn good for a fan work!! Would make a killer wallpaper, too!

Question on the background figs in these linked pics..... TOP PIC -- Is that a Yamato fig sculpt in the back of the first pic? Looks like a familiar series, anyone know? BOTTOM PIC -- I forget what series the "Gundam GM-esque" figure in the back is from. Wasn't this the non-transformable line that has been referred to in the past?

I think all will cave into the temptation when a 1/60 VF-1 is standing next to her...............and LOOKING UP !!!!
  19. The 2 mechs to the RIGHT of the Defender are a T-10 BLOCKHEAD & F4X HASTY from Combat Armor DOUGRAM. LEFT to RIGHT in this pic (excluding Defender): --PA-36HD POWERED AROMOR NOVE COMMANDER (Machine Soldier Dorvack) --T-10 BLOCKHEAD (Dougram) --F4X HASTY (Dougram) --DOUGRAM (Dougram) --HT128 BIGFOOT (Dougram) --Appears to be a ISHKICK-type knock-off from SD ORGUSS ?? (front row)--F44A Crab Gunner (Dougram)

  23. The cat's eye is a 1/72 scale. and goes greta with the hasegawa As I stated taking new pictures along the hase' the camera run out of batteries and it takes about 14 Hrs to recharge; so it will be until tomorrow night or so for betetr ones. The good news is that I got a soso pic with the hasegawa Elint before my camera went dead. Very Nice pic.!!! I'll anxiously await those darn batteries!!!
  24. Yikes, little late for this party, but I thought I saw someone looking for V gundam toys. I have a bunch of MS in Pockets that drifand describes above that I plan on parting with if interested. PM me. You can see a few below in front of some my HCMs.... BTW, note that all suits below are 1/144. You can see how the earlier suits are 'the cars of the 70s' while the V suits are 'the slimmer cars of the 80s'.
