boggles the mind. great work there.

It is sad that things got to the point where they did. C&D even before we got to the actual good parts. Some of us can admit, we were Robotech fans before we even knew about Macross. Goes to show that a real estate company has no business in the anime world.

Science and Technology MEGA THREAD

Still a great accomplishment. I hope it survives the night and gets back at it. -

Just got mine today. received it a few days ago, but couldn't go get it til today. Thanks John. -
If the potential to make some cash out of it is there, I'm sure HG will probably take legal action, or ask for some sort of royalty fees. Especially if that WB film finally gets off the ground.

Looking forward to the next installment. I'm liking the story line so far.

I'm tasking a trip down to Mexico for 2 weeks, I am really going to enjoy coming home to this kit. Shipping delays happen all the time. No worries Captn. We all appreciate all the work you put into it. The research is the hardest. -

I don't think the Cap has mentioned doing Gosu yet, tho it would be awesome. -
A fan based video doesn't automatically get a "pass" What "fan based" does is let us know that there is no multimillion dollar budget behind it, no large state of the art computers and staff to run it, no art directors, producers, consultants etc... behind it. Just someone, or people, who are fans putting what skills they have. It doesn't mean they are professional animators that do this day in and day out 12 hours a day. So, it just means that we can be forgiving on some of the mistakes they make. Now, if the animation looked like it was done in the 90's, and people "loved" it, then I would agree that it was all about the name. Since it's not, it's a genuine attempt to do something Hollywood hasn't done. I have little hope for a live action Robotech any time soon. so, for now, I will get my fix with this one.

Low budget, fan made, they even put that disclaimer in the beginning. It's Robotech, not Macross, big difference. Someone correct me if I am wrong here, but wasn't "Eve" the living computer from the "Robotech Movie" which was Megazone? If so, it would be a fan's attempt to connect everything in the Macek storyline.

I am hoping to actually build this kit next year. I have been sitting on a few others that I was to get done as well, so I guess I am making it a new year's resolution. -
Being a fan based project, this is way better than the "live action" we are seeing from Hollywood to date.

VF-4 1/72 'Skull Squadron' and 'Max Special' - Double
coronadlux replied to PetarB's topic in Model kits
Always great to see your work. I like the subtle changes between the skull and max versions. Actually all 3 are different in small ways.- 19 replies

flip through some real life photos on google, or other search engines, for inspiration of how aircrafts actually weather. It's a good resource to imitate. Or, just look at some of the builds in this forum. There are a lot of guys with exceptional work.

Awesome. But seriously, pink? hahaha. I am guessing it's going to be in a pink box as well. -

Hey Capt'n is the resin strong enough to hold parts at the joints? What type of resin do you use? I have used some yellow type and it was brittle with thin parts. -
great mash up of the f-14 and valk. very impressive work.

Have you tried online ordering of the vf-0? Many hobby shops around here do not stock a good selection of macross stuff. Gundam yes, macross no. You can also try the for sale forum here. You might be able to score a good deal.

Sweet. Can't wait to see more masterpieces from you.

Really good for a 2nd build. One point of advice, when it comes to weathering and panel lines, less is more sometimes. Although this one looks like it has seem some serious, and constant, action.

Back from the dead... anyone have new pics?

I'm beginning to think that HG might not really want a live action studio film unless there's some guarantees on the cash it would bring in.
