1. Ah geez, they just HAD to go there.
2. Its confusing figuring out what the relationship between Topless and Buster Machine is now. They all refered to the variable gravity well as an alien Topless, so what is a topless then? Its certainly not just a Buster Machine pilot in this case. Is it any being with super powers? So with the arrival of a true space monster, does that mean all the aliens before they were fighting were just parts of the Buster Corps gone wild and uncontrolled until Buster Machine 7 became aware again? Diebuster will be revealed in next episode... I'm hoping it doesn't look as goofy as the existing Buster Machines.
3. You want pictures from the LA Auto Show, here you go. There's also a ton of pictures from other events on this site: http://www.thecarlounge.net/gallery/galler...%20Angeles/2006
4. I forgot, was this thread about performance cars or Volvos?
5. I can hear the bitching already. 352029
6. You guys were talking about the Lotus Elise a couple of pages back, but what do you guys think about the Lotus 340R? Man I'd love to ride in one of those. I remember reading in CAR magazine where one of the editors crashed the front of his and had to send it back to Lotus to get the whole fiberglass body replaced, since well, its a one piece body. Ouch.
7. Really? It can do 0-200 faster then an McLaren F1's 120-200?!?? But that damn thing is a porker! I am sure the F1 can beat it on the track. I don't like the philosophy behind that car. Take it to the extreme and you can just strap a RR Spey on a ladder chassis with fat tyres and it'll beat the Veyron's 220-300 with it's 0-400 time too! 357968 There is a world of difference between a race car and a street driven supercar capable of 200+ mph. Sure you can make anything blazing fast, but can you do it safely, reliably, and still shoehorn in all that luxury to placate buyers paying a million dollars for it? Its not like this car has a pit crew that will rebuild its engine every couple of drives.
8. Speaking about 1000 hp cars, I just watched an episode of Top Gear where Jeremy Clarkson got to drive the new Bugatti Veyron across Europe. That thing is a monster of engineering! A W-16 engine with 4 turbos, and premium leather inside and all amenities... thats crazy. I especially like the part where he says that you could sit a McLaren F1 and a Veyron side by side and let the F1 take off up to 120 mph, then let the Veyron go and it would beat the F1 to 200 mph... then be able to stop from 200 mph in 10 seconds. The looks might not be to everyone's taste, but its a Bugatti, not a Ferrari.
9. This article in particular makes me jealous... A 1000+ hp street driven Lamborghini Diablo?! http://blog.gtroc.com/dino/2005/10/lamborghini_dia.php
10. Thought I'd share this site with you guys. This guy takes amazing pictures of the most amazing cars in Japan. I believe he is a photographer for some car mag in Japan as well. http://blog.gtroc.com/dino/
11. Real Genius Private School Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings
12. The first turbo car I ever drove was a Eclipse GS-T and I definitely agree that while it is a fun car, the combination of the turbo 4G63 and FWD is not so fun. I've been wanting to buy a AWD GSX since 92, even though I've got a twin turbo 93 RX7 for weekend drives. I remember the first time I saw a 400+hp GSX gun it on the street and it's still a thing of beauty in my eyes. Although, I prefer the 1st gen pop up headlight ones and don't like the later iterations at all (reminds me of the lime green Brian Earl Spilner F&F version).
13. But that would actually be fairly intriguing and entertaining, which goes against what SEED is about. What we need is for someone to come in and throw everything on its side like what happened with Turn A. Great post, Kalvasflam, I enjoyed reading it.
14. It looks like Psylocke will be in Xmen3 after all according to Aint It Cool News: http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=22096 Most likely this will be a very very small cameo since the actress has almost no acting experience. All I can say is... THANK GOD IT'S NOT DEVON AOKI!!! Mei Melancon doesn't look half bad...
15. I agree for the most part about everything you just said. What the heck is up with Nicolas Cage?! It's like he's the antithesis of everything you just said since he just picks crap summer movies one after another and never seems to care about the damage it does. It's hard to believe the guy is related to Francis Ford Coppola.
16. Another thing I like about the movie is that the background music does not sound out of place, meaning something techy/trancy/new rock sounding. The new score matches the old material and reminds me of the score from Char's Counterattack.
17. Its funny, I put the old TV footage next to the movie footage on splitscreen and watched the whole Rosamia/Camille and Char/Yellow UFO MS fight synced up as best as I could and the reanimated scenes really flow much much better. The reanimated actions scenes are just incredible.
18. Very very true. A lot of these space battles I don't really like since they just consist of two battleships approaching to point blank distance and firing away. Its stupid, its like watching Revolutionary War tactics where the armies would line up face to face and just shoot and reload and shoot again. There's no talk or execution of fleet configuration, manuevering, etc. I like it when there is some element of tactics involved like in LOGH, Macross, Yamato 2520, original Yamato, which all incidentally had Ishiguro involved.
19. I've said this before, but OVA #0 of Yamato 2520 (if you can find it, its so obscure) had 10 minutes of the most glorious fleet combat on a massive scale. Picture massive volleys of the "wave motion cannon" from entire fleets and you get the picture. The guy that did the action direction (I think it was Noburo Ishiguro?) also handled the same for Yamato 2520, so you know its good.
20. Someone should've told Scirroco that then. The O is definitely saddled with tons of armor.
21. Amen to that.... or whatever Xenu would say.
22. Why did Picard act like such a uptight dick the whole first and second seasons? It seems like he didn't settle down into the temperate likeable Picard until around the 3rd season. Wasn't it also around the same time that Roddenberry died and stopped having such a big influence on the series?
23. Oooh! This should be a great movie! I heard that Xenu himself is going to be in it!! I found this set picture of Phillip Seymour Hoffman as Xenu!
24. Well, I looked at the cast details for FF3 and good thing is, it looks like a straight to video deal. Phew!
25. WHY?!!! That's one hell of an engine, but thats like taking the V10 out of the new M5 and shoehorning it into the General Lee.
