$40 a pop and ya can't even fit the gunpod to a 1/48 in its fighter mode when it's on the stand! What's up with that?! It's like having a bottle of Corona w/out da lime!! It's just not right!
-
Oooppss, sorry folks, my bad!! Was under the same impression that YAMATO had re-issued the 1/48 HIKARU 1S and that they had done the same thing with the head rest for the FOCKER type--straight for the original 'n curved for the 2nd issue. Yey for me, though!!
-
eugimon Posted: Jul 7 2004, 05:00 AM easiest way is to check the headrest on the pilot's seat... if it's curved it's the reissue with fixes, if it has no cruve, it's the original. Oh, man, just found out that both of my 1/48 HIKARU 1S are re-issues . But still love 'em anyway

Man, yer latest custom looks so great I'm actually thinking of buying a 1/48 1J now so that I can have ya customize it! Excellent work, 'n like TOONZ said--"more pics, please!"

how many of you buy doubles of your toys?
connor99 replied to GobotFool's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Like most everyone, I usually buy one of anything I like. The only exceptions are my faves: like for example the 1/48 HIKARU 1S. I already have a(n) MISB in my display case, but I decided to pick one up yesterday to use as both a display and play piece. I guess I'll be using this one to pacify my desire in opening the 1st one that I got! Go figure! -
Hey, HATERIST, great review on the Flexidisplay stands! Really helps out a lot, specially for a new and up n' coming buyer like myself! I've got one question, though--I haven't actually seen photo(s) of an FP armored 1/48 on one of these stands. Will the stands be able to accomodate this as well? Thanks for the help!
-
Heck, yeah!! You definitely wanna get some after-market stickers (see HURIN's Takatoys 1/48 stickers review!). Don't even think of defacing that MACROSS holy grail of yours! I just bought a 1/48 HIKARU 1S a few hours ago and I'm not taking it out of the box until I get my Takatoys stickers, which reminds me--I gotta order a new set from TMP ANIME right now!! Invest a little on these after-market stickers, and I promise ya won't be sorry! Hey, BOB COFFEE, ya might wanna check out ANAZASI37's water-slide decals, too, coz they're just as excellent!!

Hey, VALK-1S, I believe Obi-Wan said that he doesn't remember ever owning a droid which is totally different. He could have been lying thru his teeth about R2, for what reason we don't know! And about the VF-1 appearance in MAC0, it's a possibility 'coz, as mentioned before in this forum, the VF-1 'n da VF-0 were developed concurrently. So, who's to say that we're never gonna see the VF-1 in action in the last installment of the first MAC series.
-
Very nice, ANUBIS, both the collection 'n da display cases! Got one question, though: did ya, by any chance, pick up the display cases from IKEA? Coz I think I might have seen that kind when I picked up mine.
-
I sure hope the MAC 0's ending isn't gonna be a letdown. Just like most folks here, I too have enjoyed the series and would like to see the series have an ending that is both memorable and classic!

Hey, what's up, AEGIS?!! Ya might wanna pick up the 1/100 kit. It is more articulated and is bigger. Believe me coz I have both the 1/100 'n da HG 1/144. Ya won't be sorry with the 1/100. (Man, I wish I can post a pic of mine! ). Anyway, that pic ya posted was made from a 1/100. What gave it away for me was the left hand, the one holding the garbera "holster". The 1/100 version comes with a left hand where the thumb is sticking up. P.S. This particular custom looks like a weird looking AMATU version, from MAR.2004 issue of the HOBBY JAPAN mag.

Hey, RICHTERX, is there anyway you can go back to the PSX DYRL? game to check and see which # is on ROY's GBP?
-
Hey, you guys put up a rather good argument! I'm actually thinking of putting the numbers 1 and 001 on my pre FP ROY! Well, at least I can think about it until I get ANAZASI's decals!!
-
Hey, DEVIN, the decals look great!! One question though: are they the waterslide type or yer regular run-o-da-mill decals? Man, I hope TAM will decide to pick these up for us!!
-
Oh, darn!! Well, better late than never--HAPPY BELATED B-DAY, DYRL? !!!
-
Well, I guess that settles it! When it comes to numbering them GBP's, anything is fair game and anyone can do it whichever way they want. Actually kinda like that myself, I get to customize a little.

dyowelb Posted on Jul 8 2004, 08:20 AM i already did. i already stated doing this kit about a month ago. the way my phase go, i'm estimating it'll be done in another month. thanks, d Hey, D, don't forget to post some pix when yer done!! Hey, SOUTHPAW, sorry can't help ya out w/ that one coz I don't think I have that particular issue w/ DAIMOS in it. Is it by any chance a recent one?
-
Hey, DYOWELB, that's the shizzznit!! Thanks for putting it up! Ya planning on picking it up coz I know yer a bigger fan than I am since yer avatar's that of... uhhh..well, at least what used to be yer avatar, he-he!

Just picked up the July issue of HJ, and guess what's pictured inside, besides yer usual Gundam stuff---- a kit of the Ultra-Magnetic Robot itself, VOLTES V! Not exactly sure if it's resin or plastic, but that darn thing looks great!! VOLTES is bent down on one knee w/ his laser sword drawn out! Very cool pose!! Man, I wish I had a digi cam so I can take a pic ( and not to mention knowing how to read japanese, so I can let ya guys know more about it! !). Anyway, I hope it's coming out soon, coz I'd definitely wanna pick up one of these.

alvaro Posted on Jul 6 2004, 02:20 PM awwmanz, so jealous over those having the 1/60gbp >.< so far only got news monster & stand left from yamato (correct me if im wrong) do u think yamato will come out 48gbp too? I think that's what most folks here are hoping for--a 1/48 GBP Armor!! But, hey, ya know, if YAMATO ever came out with such news, ya'd probably hear it here first! CID Posted on Jul 6 2004, 08:02 PM There are no real reference to numbering the GBP, as far as I know (I could be wrong),. I would just number what ever number fits your liking. One of the best advices I've heard so far. Thanks a lot, CID!

Hey, Guys, I was just checking out SOLSCUD007's latest thread and there he posted a pic of a classic TAKA GBP. Anyway, the box art confirms the matching 1 on the chest piece and the 101 on the arm n' leg armor! But of course, the armor was on HIKARU's VF-1S (from the tv series, I believe!). So, I don't exactly know what to make of this. I think I'm just gonna go w/ GERWALKER's Imai model patterns. But like FAT BOT's query, which code(s) would go with what chest piece #?
-
Thanks a lot, MECHAFAN n' OPUS! That's all I needed to know. I can finally put my GBP Armored VF-1S on display.
-
Hey, what do you know?! Another topic about everyone's favorite armor!! Anyway, I haven't found the time to put the armor on my pre FP 1S Roy until now and I know that this question has been asked before, AND I haven't actually opened the armor box so I don't know if the instruction manual would say so, but does anyone know for sure the number(s) that go on to the red palette of the GBP Armor chest piece? No one has actually given a definite answer to this particular question and I'm one of those nuts who must actually go with whatever is CANON. So, if anyone can help out, it'll be much appreciated! Thanks in advance you guys!

I think the color schemes on the Yammies are accurate, upon comparison to that of the screen shots on the series n' DYRL? Ya can't really lose w/ a Yamato, no matter which one you decide to pick up.

Lynx7725 Posted on Jun 30 2004, 10:56 PM I need to check on my Red Astray 1/144 kit to see if it's a HGUC or a HG line. The Red Astray 1/144 kit is a(n) HG, I would know 'coz I've got both the 1/144 & 1/100 models.
