Not really. Although the engine sounds were taken from a real '67 Shelby sporting a 428 cubic inch engine making about 500 horsepower, most of the 11 cars actually used in filming were dressed up regular '67 Mustangs with 289 engines and automatic transmissions (a couple of the ones used for crashes didn't even have engines).

YOu are talking the remake right? The original is funny, car chasing and crashing campy gold. I used to watch the original all the time with my dad, though what they do that poor Shelby mustang is a crime. Although I have to admit the remake is even worse, since the original at least had a great chase with spectacular crashes. But plot and dialogue....if I ever watch it again, it will be on mute. And BTW, the original was a Mach 1, not a Shelby. ....................... Was it ever revealed who owns the trashed Mach 1 from the original? I remember reading in a magazine that the current owner refused to restore it and was keeping it in "post movie" condition.

Part of that is because Stepper (black Jazz recolor) was one of the two Targetmasters never released in the U.S., only in Japan (the other was "Artfire", a blue and red Inferno repaint). The TF reissue "Ricochet" is the first time this mold has ever been available here in this paint scheme. .... And Alternators Ricochet looks terrible. Wouldn't be so bad if it didn't have those tacky flames, and was a repaint of the Meister mold as it should be.

I don't care what anyone says, not even the car wrecks can save the steaming pile of poo that was the original Gone In 60 Seconds Another most-hated: Duel. I wanted to kill Dennis Weaver's character myself. That was one of those late night TNT movie repeats that I watched and then felt disgusted for sitting through it.

I'm guessing it probably isn't Hasbro or Takara-TOMY (or whatever their name is) since we haven't heard anything through official channels. And the box art and wording looks nearly identical to the first Just Toys Trailer.

This one is new though, and so very un-Hurin like so there has to be more to the story. Inquiring minds....

Got a gorgeous set of diamond earrings and a necklace. No idea what is in store for tomorrow. Can't wait to see my husband's reaction though. His early present was just a sweater and even though he said thanks, I could tell he wasn't thrilled. He should like tomorrow's gift though. His daily driver (94 civic) is on its last legs, so I bought him a 95 Mustang GT that I found on a local lot. It is hidden in the garage at my parents, and he'll get it when we go over for dinner tomorrow. It isn't new, but he will be thrilled to have his own Mustang to do whatever he wants with. Especially since I never let him drive the Cobra or the Lightnings.

Just got Alternators Sunstreaker and Skids. Alt. Sunstreaker's car mode looks better than the Binaltech version, although the BT version's robot mode looks better. BT Skids is superior in all ways to Alt. Skids. From the weird prepainted decals, two-two metallic flake tint, and the goofy quote on the box.."Speed is immaterial when you've got intelligence. And killer rims." Skids definetly has some appearance issues. That said, I like the transformation and the Scion XB is a fitting G1 update for Skids. All in all, both figures are interesting but I wish I had waited and bought them when they appeared on the U.S. market. It wasn't worth the extra cash to get them early.
