POLL: You help choose RHINO future DVD releases.
trueblueeyes replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hey, watch it buster!! I *loved* Jem when it was on the air. I had all the dolls and would listen to the cassettes that came with them over and over. I even remember owning a "Choose Your Own Adventure: Jem & the Holograms" book! Err...I mean.... Um...M.A.S.K...Yeah, I'd like to see that on DVD. Especially if it increased the chances of them re-releasing the toys! Also wouldn't mind seeing the Japanese Headmasters series subbed on a nice DVD set! Melissa Hi, I dont mean to sound rude but are you a lesbian because you seem to like alot of guy stuff. Ooooh!! ...look everybody: A living, breathing advertisement for the need for retroactive birth control! <_< And not that it is really any of your business (or that there is anything wrong with it..don't want to offend anybody here), but the answer to your question is no. My fiancee` and I prove that on a regular basis..heh! ( bad Melissa!! ) Although I see how you could get confused since Jem & the Holograms was such a *masculine* show of course! BTW, thanks for the support guys! Glad to know that not all of you are like this caveman. Melissa -

Thanks, this is really great information!! Mods..Is there anyway to either have this pinned or stored on another part of this site? I'd hate to lose this info! Nice to have you back Yoshi! Thanks for taking the time to translate the material and for posting it to share with us. Sincerely, Melissa

Word. I wouldn't mind if Takara made him a Murcielago, though. Sure beats being a Viper. That it would! But I don't think they could have done that if they had wanted to. Remember that Volkswagen owns the Lamborghini brand. ...And we all know how paranoid they have been about the depictions of any vehicles they own ever since having to live down their WWII Nazi associations... Poor Sideswipe! You'll always be a Lamborghini to me! (Please understand this is just a *guess* on my part. For all I know, Hasbro/Takara may have not even asked Volkswagen for the use of their vehicle likenesses.) What think folks? If I am right though and Volkswagen is being their usual paranoid self, then that rules out seeing Bumblee as a Binaltech/Alternator VW Bug which I'd love to see!

paper? Yep! Well, cardboard to be more specific! Here's hoping that a "make-your-own-cardboard-trailer" is included in at least one of the releases. (Maybe the Takara one? ) And yes, it would be incredibly hokey.. but, hey...at least it would be a trailer to display with MP Prime! Melissa ( who is still hoping we get that possible rumoured Palisades trailer available for sale later! )

The dino stinks! Another re-paint of a horrible mold! And Hound is okay I guess. Although I really wanted him to be a military Humvee. Ah, well..you can't have it all and he will still be a must buy. Anyone have a clue as to when the Takara (diecast) version is set to hit the shelves? I really think the Binaltech/Alternators line is the best thing to happen to Transformers in ages! Wonder when we'll get to see pics of Tracks? (the corvette alternator)

Nintendo Gamecube Game Recommendations Needed!
trueblueeyes replied to trueblueeyes's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Thanks for everyone's help! Seems like I have a nice list of titles to take to EB Games with me! (Thanks goodness they have plenty of used games on the cheap...luckily even new ones show up for sale in a week or two! ) I'll also make it a point to pick up Rogue Squadron II and III this week as well....and of course I want F-Zero. But since I am a big Star Wars fan, what about the other SW GC games? (Bounty Hunter, Clone Wars, Jedi Outcast...) Anybody have an opinion on these? Thanks again everyone! Nice to have a list of good games to pick up! Melissa -
Since I recently lost my PS2 to theft, I needed a new gaming system. I decided to save a little money and buy a gamecube. Now, all I need is some good games for it. Can I get some recommendations for good games? I love action/adventure, RPG, and racing games. I don't really care for fighting games of any sort. I am also wondering if any of the Star Wars games available for the GC are a good buy. What think folks? Please help! Thanks In Advance! Melissa

"Arcee...I...i..love you!" -Daniel

I never really noticed those "Princess Leia-style buns" on Arcee's head before. Rather disconcerting... Thanks, but I'll pass. The soundwave one is nice though! -

Two more Binaltech/Alternators vehicles have been annouced: -Chevrolet Corvette (Tracks maybe? ) -Jeep Wrangler (Hound? , Trailbreaker? , who knows! ) Anywho, I ran across this info at tfw2005.com. Posted by an employee who found this info in the Wal-Mart computers. (If anyone cares, there is also a list of the Energon toys soon to be released) No official info from Takara or Hasbro yet, but the guy posted the info and sku numbers and it looks pretty legit. See for yourself: Alternators & Energon now listed in Wal-Mart computers. All I care about are the new Binaltech/Alternators listings. I still wonder who the Jeep Wrangler is? Maybe Hound since he was a jeep in G1, although I am still holding out hope that Hound will be a Hummer. What think?

Might not be a bad idea. That said, personally, I think the panel shading is terrific and adds a realistic and "different" touch to the models. Nice work Grayson! Melissa
-
I didn't really consider that, I suppose. Shade may in fact be right...Oops! Can anyone read Chinese and translate for us?

Sorry for digging this old thread up, but I didn't want to start a new one just for this. Behold full color magazine pictures of the Hasbro battle-damaged shortened stack prime: Neutered Prime So, looks like everyone's fears were correct! No long smokestacks on Has-Prime. Stupid child safety laws! (God forbid little Timmy should poke his eye out! ) Ah well, at least it still has the same amount of die-cast. Of course, I will be getting the Takara version. Personally, I think the "battle-damage" looks a bit overdone on the Hasbro version.

He's so pretty! I've got ONE (# but I really don't want to open it until I have another. Does anyone know where I can possibly still buy Smokescreen? (Ideally something besides the crap-shoot that is e-bay) I'd love to have both another number 7 and an 8! Anyone have any suggestions as to where to buy? Thanks, Melissa

Who's anticipating Southern Cross?
trueblueeyes replied to Keith's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Thanks for the heads-up K! Seems like I'll have to get this one after all. The military factions chart, as well as character and mecha bios are a very nice added bonus..especially since I don't know much about the original SC. I'd be interested to hear about how the set actually looks when you have had a chance to watch it. Didn't ADV also do a restoration job on SC? I'd be interested to know how that turned out. It should look a bit better...albeit, not as good as SDF Macross did after Animeigo's restoration. (yes, I realize nothing so extensive was planned for the SC set) But still, just wondering how SC looks in comparison to the RT Masters set. Anyone know where I can find screen shots comparing the two? Thanks, Melissa -
What's wrong with my Yamato, Bandai, etc.
trueblueeyes replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
no tleg chest plate thanks ali Funny, but I have a similar problem. (see Ali's pic) Except mine is with my 1/48 VF-1S. Any suggestions for fixes? It is in gerwalk mode in my display case. I've taken it out and securly attached the shoulders. It usually works for about one second before they come lose again! It's driving me nuts! I don't have that problem with ANY of my other 1/48's! Anybody have any suggestions that could help? Thanks, Melissa -
How can you be sure of that ??? Like David pointed out, I'm NOT sure about the smokestacks. Check out the statement (Q & A) from Transformers.com (the official Hasbro Transformers website) : Q: Will 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime's smoke stacks be shorter than the Japanese Takara "Masterpiece" Prime? A: It is our goal for the U.S. Optimus Prime's smoke stacks to be identical to those on the Japanese version. Doesn't exactly sound like the promise I was led to believe it was. More like skirting the issue. As David pointed out, the same site that skirted around the Hasbro Prime smokestack size has definetively stated this about the Takara Binalteach/Hasbro Alternators line: Q: Will Alternators in the US will be part metal like the Binaltech versions by Takara? A: We feel very strongly about making this Transformers Alternators line very affordable. Consequently, the cars released in the U.S. will not have metal parts. Make of it what you will but notice this; No if, ands, or buts in the second statement. So seems like we can't count on the same size smokestacks yet. <_< But, my statement about the battle-damaged Hasbro version and the Show-Room clean Takara version comes straight from the horse's mouth. Q: Is it true that the U. S. 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime will have "battle damage" deco while the Takara version will not? A: Yes, the U. S. 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime will have "battle damage" deco Personally, I'll be getting the Takara version and NOT the burnt, possibly-neutered Hasbro Prime. B)

Who's anticipating Southern Cross?
trueblueeyes replied to Keith's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, yep! Interviews with twelve (actually 13 members in twelve interviews) of the staff that worked on Mospeada plus an additional four staff articles. Although, I am not sure they were done just for this set. I had heard they were ripped straight from the LD set. As to whether that is true or not...I have no idea. Still a nice little addition. Of course, it would have to been nice to see some additional line art. I'd even settle for better box art, but it is still a worthy buy! In case you were wondering, here are the names of the staff members that were interviewed: Kazuya Maeda Kyoutarou Kimura Masatoshi Yui Yasuhiro Tomita Naoko Hasegawa Kazuhiko Udagawa Isao Kaneda Shinji Aramaki & Hideki Kakinuma Yoshitaka Amano Yasunori Honda Takeshi Miyao Hiroshi Iwata Does anyone have any confirmation of exactly what "extras" the SC box set is coming with? Also, is it just now shipping or should it already be on store shelves? It is a definite buy for me! -
so only the american version has the mouth? As far as I know, both versions have the mouth under the faceplate? Why? I have no clue! But, you don't have to remove it...So, if like me you find it a little silly...then leave it on. Also forgot to mention that the faceplate moves up and down. Oh, and supposedly the Matrix also opens (in addition to lighting up via LED) Neat touches I suppose, but I could've done without them. Still can't wait to get this toy though! Speaking of TF's, did anyone pick up the TF Genesis art book that was released this week. If so, what think? Thanks, Melissa
-
Just a little extra info in case anyone cares. The Hasbro version will NOT have short stacks. It will have the same size smokestacks as the Takara version as well as the same amount of die-cast. The only difference: Takara Version = Minty, pristine Prime. Hasbro = Battle-Damaged (or as I like to affectionately call him "Smudgy") Prime. That and you already know about the weird mouth thing...
-
I guess you could also add the Hasegawa Max & Milia 1J set. The plastic comes molded in red and blue. So, I suppose you could just put them together like that. Of course, they won't exactly look great though.... But, all you said was pre-colored so they do fit the bill on that count!

Robotech and HG license debates
trueblueeyes replied to Roy Focker's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I believe you are correct about that. However, this "YF-1R" isn't exactly a new derivative. Thanks to Animefiend it did appear in at least one clip. So...animation error?...Yes Monstrosity?...Yes. New derivative? Technically...No. However, hopefully we won't see any more "mutants" in the VF line that didn't appear in the series! (That is if we are both right about HG's in-ability to create any new derivatives) -
Seems Yamato hasn't given up completely on the 1/60 line after all. I've never been happier to be proven wrong!! GBP!! Now it makes me wonder if we just might possibly see the 1/60 FP sets after all? What a wonderful time to be a Macross fan!!
