  1. I can't wait to get this kit! Great job GH!
  2. I'm not Valkyrie, but I am pretty sure his VF-0S is probably on the back burner for now! I would imagine the VB-6 re-cast is taking up a *lot* of his time. ...not to mention those nice VF-11 armor re-casts...I've really got to get a couple of those.. Never fear, I am sure Ken will eventually get back around to finishing the VF-0!
  3. What are you talking about here? I got all of the VF-1s, and all of the cells including the background... They completed the VF-1 montage... As for the New Gen pilots... I'm sure the same will be true. Perhaps he is talking about the fact that the MPC's always seem to be out at every other retailer and e-tailer before those ordering from RT.com ever got theirs with the special *cell*.. (usually without ever receiving a shipping notice). Or maybe he is talking about the fact that people quickly realized they could get them cheaper from other sites.. (even if not waiting for the price to drop at least they could get free shipping...still results in lower total price). Or he could be talking about the people who didn't get the background cell with their "Miriya" MPC and then received bent and damaged replacements in the mail.... I could certainly understand why many chose *not* to order from Rt.com and complete the montage. It is cool that you completed your collection of the cells though Rocco! Was it worth it? Would you mind sharing pics of the completed montage? Thanks, Melissa (who actually thinks Yune's art on the MPC VF-1 boxes and cells was actually pretty good but thinks his Yellow is just plain scary... )
  4. So how is this Academy Mig 29 kit...anyone know? I'd love to have a nice 1/48 scale Mig 29 (any variant) to build and display alongside my Academy 1/48 SU-27UB. (which IMHO is a beautiful kit...has nice *finely* engraved panel lines and rivets, photo-etched detail parts, and scalemaster decals). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Melissa
  5. Nah, doubt it. The Konig box art will be the same as their box art for all of the other Macross toys...plain and boring. Melissa (who loves the Hasegawa box art and still yearns for the days of the Takatoku and Bandai Macross toys box art)
  6. The Event Horizon (sucky movie, cool ship! )
  7. Don't kid yourself. I thought Graham did confirm in another thread a few weeks ago that the 19 though delayed is still confirmed for release? Unless I have been listening to the voices in my head too much again...
  8. And for a sense of scale and an idea of the size of a 1/100 scale VB-6 check out this link Shawn gave us in the model section earlier: Wonderfest VB-6, VF-11, and YF-19 pics ...scroll through the pics and click on the thumbnails to see how much the monster dwarfs the 11 and 19!
  9. And GERWALK/MONSTER:
  10. For those who would like to know how the other modes will look, I'd suggest looking at pictures of the IHP VB-6 1/100 resin kit. The design of the toy looks very close to that of the model (at least the shuttle mode does so far...as well it should since they share the same sculptor. ) Found the pics: BATTROID
  11. Our own Valkyrie is hard at work on a transformable resin kit re-cast that I can not wait to get! In the meantime, I just recevied a 1/100 SHE VA-3 Invader resin transformable kit that I am ready to build (thanks to our anonymous VB-6 benefactor for pointing out where to get the kit and Monkey N for acquiring it for me....I owe you both big time!). What I need are hints and tips on what to do and what not to do when building transformable resin kits. Any and all help appreciated. Such as...should I switch to enamels since they are harder and might withstand transformation better or can I stick with my acrylics? How tight should the screws be...meaning does it have to be a floppy mess in battroid to keep from stressing the joints and paint? How much sanding do I need to do at the joints? I've been experimenting building some of my smaller and less expensive resin kits. One those, I have pinned parts with brass rods for that extra bit of strength. I won't be able to do that in many places on these kits so I need some suggestions on what to do. Also need the best bonding agent for resin. Whatever else you can add will be appreciated. ..... And this has nothing to do with the thread but I need some Mr. Surfacer 500 (the bottled grey liquid filler) and my usual source (Hobbyfan) is out of stock. Anyone know other U.S. retailers that carry it? My two year old bottle still has some but with this kit and the others on my list it will soon be gone! ..... Thanks, Melissa
  12. No, no, no. I do not want Yamato to release the VF-1 in 1/100 scale. We have enough VF-1 toys already. Another line of VF-1 TV and DYRL varients in yet another scale would just be too much, because we all know that Yamato wouldn't just release only one 1/100 VF-1 toy, they would release all the different head/color varients all over again.....arghhhhhhhhhh! If Yamato are going to switch their focus to 1/100 scale, I would much rather they concentrate on other VFs that have not been released as toys yet such as the VF-4, VA-3M, VF-5000B, VF-22S, VF-17D/S, VF-3000 etc. Graham I don't think it means a definite switch to 1/100 scale for all new Yamato Macross toys. After all, the Konig even in 1/100 scale will be one big toy. I think anything larger would have been overkill. But what do I know? After all, Yamato has thrown us enough curveballs scale-wise in the Macross toy line to keep even a prophet from guessing correctly. No complaints from me since I'll buy anything they throw at me. Melissa (who lived through the long drought of Macross toys that meant spending a thousand for a Bandai Strike, Elint, or Ostrich.....or eighty dollars for a bootleg Joons VF-1) ...................................................... And a question for those in the know: Does anyone know why the VB-6 did not make its appearance in M7? I have heard it was planned for the show and I think I've even seen pics of the Konig with M7 mentioned. So what happened? Also I was flipping through my recently acquired copy of the Macross VF-X2 Official Visual Guide (thanks Monkey N!) and noticed a picture of Shoji Kawamori standing with a Konig in battroid mode that is almost as tall as he is! (page 83 for those interested). Does anyone know anything about it? Graham? Just wondering what it was made of? (plastic display piece, cardboard mock-up, etc...). I'd be interested to hear where it came from...most likely a mock-up made to promote the game I'd think, but I would like to know for sure.
  13. Nah, I doubt he is that upset. After all, there are still people (myself included) who will still be thrilled to get the IHP Konig re-cast. He might even be slightly relieved if he has to produce less re-casts! ........ And to answer an earlier question about which kit it is based on: Well, toys are always different than models but I would bet it is most closely based on the IHP Koenig Monster. (I think that is a pretty safe assumption since IHP's founder Mr. Sakuragawa now works as a sculptor for Yamato) ......... And to Hurin: The VB-6 Konig did make its first appearance in the VF-X2 game...but it was also *intended* to appear in M7 Dynamite. So it is indeed canon. Melissa
  14. No glaring QC problems with either of mine. I'm with JS though...I think the blue head lasers look like ass. But a nice gunmetal re-paint will take care of that. All in all, I am very happy with mine! Melissa
  15. Forgot this one....straight from WM Cheng's YF-19 build: YF-19 off white: 50:50 Tamiya gloss white & flat white with a few drops of XF-59 Desert Yellow (all Tamiya acrylics)
  16. VF-1D tan = I use Model Master (acrylic) Radome Tan (paint# 4722) ...The same color could be used for the tan on the VT-1 Super Ostrich (although you may want to lighten it since it appears a more subdued tan than what is found on the VF-1D) ...And if anyone has any recommendations for the VF-1D and Super O's orange colors, I would be very appreciative (Tamiya or Model Master acrylics preferred) Thanks, Melissa
  17. Wow, it has been a long time since I have seen the pics of RTH's Yammie Jetfire custom! Seems those pics have made their way around the net....that custom was pre-fast pack 1/60's so that was a while ago. I remember when he first posted it and I'd love to have it. Does anyone know who owns it now? I'd love to track it down and buy it. Melissa
  18. I agree with Grayson here. I'd *love* to see a page for completed models. But I will go one step further.....If we have a walkthrough (buildup) for a particular model (by WM Cheng, Grayson, or anyone else), I would also like to see that archived on the same page. The MW custom toy page is great, but I would also really love to see fellow MW'ers completed Macross models! What think? Give the modelers some love too! Thanks, Melissa
  19. double post...sorry!!
  20. There is a show on April 17 & 18 near me at NAS Meridian. I'll probably go since it is: (1).Free Admission & (2).Only a thirty minute drive from my home. Although I will have to be honest...the Blue Angels nearly put me to sleep the last air show I went to (that lone jet coming in low over the crowd from behind only gets you once.... ) I really hope there are other things lined up for the show. Not that the Blue Angels are bad...just anticlimatic since the first part of the show usually features privately owned aircraft demonstrating everything from fancy stunt flying to wing walking.
  21. I just use one of my old brushes to brush it directly on the surface. I suppose you could also use one of those glue applicator syringes to apply it but I think the brush is a lot easier and quicker. Hope this helps!

    Max VF-1S

The Minmay Guard was a fan custom design but the Angel Birds *were* in the show....the very first episode to be precise ............ .....Ok, I know what you mean...they were only a demonstration team and played no real part in the storyline...but still, I want my Angel Birds VF-1A!!!
  23. I didn't have the money to get one of the helmets when the initial order came up but I do now. (the tax man has been somewhat kinder this year ) I know that Yamato only made a certain amount of them though... so I am wondering if it will be possible to get one of the helmets now?!? Anybody have any leads? Thanks, Melissa
  24. The one wemery73 posted is one of my favorite images. I actually have it framed on my wall. IMHO, it is one of the best pics in the mech portfolio album collection.
  25. As do I. Anyone know of any U.S. retailers that have or will have the model in stock?
