  1. I just looked at the results and as it stands, it's a close race between Tokyo Mew Mew and One Piece.
  2. The illustrations that show the ARMD-02 having two cannons mounted in front of the engines are only rough sketches and are labeled as so in the Macross Gold book. The cannons do not appear in the finallized version that we see in the movie.
  3. The ARMD platforms DO differ between the TV series and DYRL versions. Only the TV version has the 5 converging beam cannon turrets. According to several DYRL books, the movie version only has two beam cannons. Assumingly, they are the "claws" on the front of the ARMDs. The cannons that you see on the ARMD-02 appear on a rough draft of it and are not on the finalized version that is seen in DYRL I'm assuming that you know the locations of the five cannons on the TV version, So I will not list them here. The stats are right, there are 8 overtechnology guided converging beam canons on the SDF-1 in the TV version. In DYRL, there appear to be 10. A few of the smaller, 3 pronged turrets, if I remember correctly, are actually missile launchers.
  4. I am 山田 Yamada (mountain field) 一真 Kazuma (one reality). And people ask me if I'm for real! lol
  5. My vote goed for Hikaru from Kimagure Orange Road. Talk about annoying!!
  6. No problems for me on Doom 3. My computer should handle it pretty well. I'm currently running an Athlon 2700+ 2.2GHz CPU, 1gig of PC3200 RAM, 128MB Radeon 9600XT video card on an Nvidia NForce2 motherboard.
  7. The Garlands without the wheels are the production model.
  8. Since DYRL is a Japanese film, it already can legally drink! The drinking age in Japan is 20.
  9. I've been a fan of Gundam for almost as long as I've been an anime fan. Yes, a lot of the stoyy lines have been recycled, but that has never stopped me from enjoying most of the new Gundam shows that have come out over the years. I always find it interesting to see how they are going to retell a story we are all familiar with. As I said on another message board, most of the AU series are different enough from the originals to be fully enjoyable. Maybe this just means that I'm stupid, I don't know.
  10. It obviously wasn't Char piloting it.
  11. There's the famous Budweiser missile and also one that says, Tako hai and has a picture of an octopus man on it.
  12. I'm a proud owner of a Japanese PC Engine Duo along with both Macross and several other games. The system still works, but needs a new battery for the back-up memory. If I remember correctly, HE stood for Hu-card Entertainment.
  13. The address on the postcard was for the very company mentioned in the above post. Blackjek never said that the Perfect Memory that he won was translated into English.
  14. Even with the postcard, the book may still be authentic. The address on the card belongs to a company called Books Nippan, which was a distributor of Japanese books. This is where I bought quite a few of my own Macross books back in the mid-80s. They used to have an anime fan club back then, and I do believe they had a legitimate project to translate Perfect Memory in the 80s. I may be wrong, but I do think that Books Nippan may have been owned by Shogakukan, the Japanese company that printed many of the Macross books. As I said earlier, one of the ways to tell bootlegs from legitimate ones is by the silver color used to color the SDF-1 and destroids. On legitimate books, the silver is shiny and metallic-looking and looks as if it was painted on. On the bootlegs, the silver just looks like a plain gray with no shininess.
  15. The US Navy is already working on this. I live about 20 minutes from Lakuhurst Naval Air Engineering Station where they are currently testing an electromagnetic catapult. I wish I had saved a newspaper article on this subject that appeared in my local newspaper about two months ago. For those that are interested, here's a link listing the projects under developement there. http://www.lakehurst.navy.mil/nlweb/alre-details.asp
  16. That's obscene! I didn't even know that many game systems existed!
  17. Last time I was there, I did see some used PC Engine games in a couple of stores. However, that was 7 years ago. They might be a little harder to find now.
  18. Heh. If things go right, I'll be making my third trip to Tokyo next spring. Believe it or not, you don't really know how to speak Japanese to get along well in Tokyo. I understand a very basic amount of Japanese and had absolutely no problems.
  19. Is the silver on the cover a metallic silver or just plain gray? If it's plain gray, then the book is a bootleg.
  20. As far as I remember, only Yahagi Shougo's seiyuu changes from part 1 and 2. Takanaka Yui, Tokimatsuri Eve, and BD still have the same voices (Kawamura Maria, Miyasato Kumi, and Shiozawa Kaneto).
  21. Oooh, that is gorgeous! I want one
  22. The only thing that I can add to this thread is the fact that my ex-girlfriend was Chinese. If I ever used the term (which I never do) Oriental to describe her, she'd kick my ass....
  23. If the way Macross Zero has been released continues, episode 5 will probably be out in November or December.
  24. I'll be getting my copy of Macross Zero volume 4 as soon as my friend gets back from his trip to Japan.
  25. Is it just me or does seem that the creators of this Garfield movie have been talking to the people doing the live-action Sailor Moon tv series?
