  1. Actually, Macross Zero takes place in September of 2008, about 5 months before SDF Macross takes place.
  2. Of course, I'm sure what we all really want is for the F-14 Tomcat to be replaced by the VF-1 Valkyrie! I don't think the Hornet is ugly at all. In fact, I like the design second to only the Tomcat. Well, actually maybe 3rd if you count the fictional YF-19 from Macross Plus...
  3. The Aquarion mecha reminds me a lot of the mechanical designs that Kawamori did for the original Dangaioh OVA. I like the character designs for both shows, and that one aircraft from Eureka looks pretty cool. I'll probably check both these shows once they start airing
  4. I can only imagine people feeling the same way when the Tomcat replaced the Phantom. We all knew the F-14 would be replaced sooner or later. As much as I love the Tomcat, I have no difficulties with them being replaced by the Hornet.
  5. I definitely plan on getting the deluxe edition! All those goodie look rather neat!
  6. Just checked my bank account online to find that I have been billed by TRI for the Zeta box set.
  7. I plan on seeing both versions! My first exposure to The War of the Worlds was the 1953 film, which happens to be one of my favorite classic science-fiction films along with Forbidden Planet. I also read the book, which I also loved and have been wanting to see a film that follows the book's storyline. The only incarnation of The War of the Worlds that I did not like was the 90s TV series. I mean come on, the Martians practically wipe out all life on Earth and only a few people remember that it even happened???
  8. Hate me if you want, but I don't feel that Bandai actually hid anything from us. It's not like they said that nothing was being changed for the R1 release of Zeta Gundam. I can deal without the openings or closings, as it's the contents of the episodes that I bought the DVD box set. Just get over it and be happy that Zeta Gundam is being released here in the US!
  9. Hate to tell you this, but music licenses in Japan can be a pain in the ass! There have been several instances even in Japan in which a TV series, OVA, movie, etc. has dofferent music because of licensing issues. I believe a licensing issue is one of the reasons why there was never an OST released for Gall Force 2 and 3, to use an example. I have a friend that has been buying Japanese CDs, DVDs, LDs, and VHS tapes for about 20 years or so and has run into several instances in which music was missing, so this is not a new problem. Looking at my CD single of both Zeta Gundam openings, I can see where the licensing of these 2 song could really be the problem. The CD was produced by King Records back in 1988. Gundam soundtracks have usually been produced by Victor. King Records could have easily allowed Bandai to use the songs in the Japanese domestic release, but was unwilling to grant the rights for the US release.
  10. One of the cool things about the movie is that parts of it were filmed near where I live in NJ. So far, the movie seems to be a remake of the 1953 film directed by George Pal
  11. I had the strangest thing happen while boarding the airship to Windurst the other day. I enter the dock to find people floating in midair where the airship should be! For some reason, the airship graphics failed to load. I was also able to board this "invisible" airship and capture some screenshots of myself floating in midair. My character: Kaelanis, level 50/25 RDM/BLM
  12. About the only question I can answer is where he got the Sazabi from. Like Amuro's Nu-Gundam, Anaheim Electronics built the Sazabi for him.
  13. I heard that the Zeta Gundam box set release was, indeed, pushed back again. This time, however, it is only pushed back 1 day....
  14. Yep, still on and have been since the start of this thread.Like Yohso, I'm in need of gil, too. Just hit lvl 50 rdm, and am 1/3 of the way to LB1.
  15. Talk about livng up to the old guiter nickname! This is truly an axe in more ways then one!
  16. Yes, UY is Urusei Yatsura! I didn't even notice the Misa, Minmay, Vanessa, Kim and Shammy's cameo appearance when I saw all of UY sooo many years ago.
  17. The FAST pack in the first picture looks similar to the ones used in the Macross 2036 PC Engine game.
  18. I'm quite partial to the Zeon emblem that was posted earlier.
  19. I won't be buying HL2. I get the game for absolutely nothing thanks to purchasing a Radeon 9600XT video card last December.
  20. When you remove the wings, the rest of the basic body is identical.
  21. Very cool!
  22. I tend to consider the timeline given on the Macross Compendium to be an objective timeline and not from a UN or Anti-UN point of view. Therefore, all the entries in that timelime are most likely the events as they occurred.
  23. I'm sure there were probably enough countries that became part of the Anti-UN that had enough resources to be able to produce a decent amount of equipment to deal with the UN. Just look at the Macross Compendium. The Anti-UN had enough resources to produce their own reaction weapons. After all, the Anti-UN was able to destroy one of the underconstruction Grand Cannons.
  24. Actually, the Five Star Stories movie and Silent Möbius movies were released at different times. Five Star Stories was released in 1989, while the very first Silent Möbius movie was released in 1991.
  25. Wow, everyone's picky!! LOL!! I guess I'm just too laid back to hate anything enough to put it on a list.
