I think it'd be really cool, if the new Megazone 23 wound up being the TV series it was originally meant to be.

New Gundam FIX and ZEONOGRAPHY on the way...
Beltane70 replied to GRAND CANNON's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Glad to see that the Xi Gundam is out. Too bad it came out at the end of May, after I already left Japan. Thanks to a friend that is going later this month, I'll be getting mine in about 3 weeks or so. -
I probably had the most drastic solution to the region code thing... I actually bought a Japanese PS 2 while I was over in Tokyo last month

600 million yen is about 6 million US dollars. Even though, it's not exact, to figure yen to dollars just move your decimal place 2 spaces to the left.

Yeah, I remember another helicopter that they fought against. I believe they called it something like the HX-1. I do remember it was a modified Sikorsky S-76, but that's about it.

I used to really enjoy Airwolf back when it was on back in the 80s. I thought the helicopter was really cool. That was until I saw the Apache and learned about real helicopter mechanics and the fact that no helicopter would ever be able to fly at Mach 1 or even clsoe to it. Ah, how reality can ruin fantasy!

No one has seen it yet. The movie comes out on May 28. I am not at all happy with that release date, either. I was in Japan up until last Saturday and am very disappointed that they didn't release the movie just a week earlier!

This book is yet another item in the list of things that I didn't buy when I was in Japan last week. I just may ask my friend who's going there in June to bring me back a copy.

Nope, I actually accidently found the word Beltane when I opened up my dictionary one time. Upon discovering that Beltane was traditionally celebrated on May first, which happened to be my birthday, I knew I had to start using it as my screenname. However, since Beltane was used quite often, I added the 70 after the year I was born. Incidently, I, too, am a Nissan Z car fan. Actually, I'm pretty much a fan of Nissan in general. In the automotive thread, I posted a picture of a 1970 Skyline GT-R that I saw at Toyota's history museum in Odaiba.

Not a bad haul! Funny thing that you mention this since I just got back from Tokyo yesterday myself! I actually wound up bringing back quite a few Macross items. I brought back Macross The Complete CD set, the PS 2 Macross game, Digital Mission VF-X 2, Macross Plus Game Edition, the VF-0S model, and Macross Zero OST 2. While technically not a Macross item, I also bought the Mikimoto art book, Innocence which does have some Macross artwork in it.

Speaking of old Japanese cars, I saw a 1970 Skyline GT-R in Toyota's history museum in Odaiba, Tokyo. I took a particular liking to it because, I love GT-Rs and this particular one is the same age as I am. Here's a picture for everyone's enjoyment.

I just came across this thread, and I must say, your Oberth model is a very impressive peice of work so far. I can't wait to see what the finished product looks like!

At the moment I have 3 (or 4 if you count the Valkyrie weapons set) Hasegawa Valkyrie models. I have the VF-1S Strike Valkyrie, the VF-0S, and the SV-51 Gamma, Nora type. I have yet to build them, though. To be perfectly honest, I've become quite lazy when it comes to building models that require cement and paint. I blame it on the Gundam Master Grade models!

New Gundam FIX and ZEONOGRAPHY on the way...
Beltane70 replied to GRAND CANNON's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Yeah, I'm really disappointed about the May 30 release date of the Xi Gundam. I was really hoping that it was going to be released before tomorrow (the 22nd), before I left Japan. It seems that everything that I saw that was coming out in May, decided to come out the week after I'm gone. The Zeta Gundam movie, Xi Gundam, and Zeorymer were on my list of things to get/see when I was here. The silver lining to this cloud is that a friend of mine is coming over here in June, so at least he'll be able to pick up the Xi Gundam and Zeorymer. -
Nope, new Japanese PSPs are also on firmware version 1.5. I just bought a PSP here in Japan and it's firmware is 1.5.

It was also kind of hard for Milia to find Hikaru, since he was in the hospital at the time Kamjin told her about the ace aboard the Macross.

Official Gundam Plamodel Thread
Beltane70 replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I'm not happy with the May 28th release date of the Zeta Gundam movie. It figures that the movie comes out the weekend after I leave. I picked up the 1/100 Gunner Zaku Warrior and Blaze Zaku Phantom models a few days ago. I can't wait to put them together! -
Another factor that I didn't see anyone mentioning was that advertising and market research also contributes to a game's cost, not to mention packaging. Hopefully, I just didn't repeat what anyone else has said.

Yes, I definitely NEED to pick up these DVDs. My pure Japanese VHS of this has been missing for ages, and I've been meaning to replace it. Speaking of Zeorymer, Yamato is supposed to be releasing a Zeorymer toy this month. I'm just hoping it comes out before I have to leave Japan on the 22nd. It comes in 2 different paint schemes. Hobby Link Japan has had the pictures of them up for a couple of months now. I was hoping to find the OST for Zeorymer in the used shops here as well, since my old CD has also gone missing. Zeorymer's soundtrack is as dark as the series itself, making it one of my favorites.

You know, if the PS3 was to come out before this coming Sunday, I'd probably wind up buying it since I'll be in Tokyo until then!

I just fiished watching Destiny over here in Tokyo. **** SOME SPOILERS HERE **** Since my Japanese is very limited, there was quite a bit of dialog between the AA crew and Kira. As far as I could tell, the conversation almost makes it seem like Kira will be in control of the AA. They also over some of the Stellar/Shinn storyline a bit. Going back to Anubis' early post: Seeing Stellar suffering from her lack of medication, Shinn decides on his own to take Stellar back to Neo. It's not until Shinn gets to the hangar with Stellar on the gurney that Rey winds up helping Shinn, much to Shinn's surprise. Early in the episode, Rey awakens to see Shinn doing some work with Gaia's information on their room's computer. When Rey asks Shinn what he was doing, Shinn merely states that it's nothing. I'm guessing Rey figures out what Shinn is planning on doing and decides to help on his own. I don't know if Rey states his reason for helping or not, guess we'll just have to wait for the episode to be subbed to find out exactly what was going on.

Sousei no Aquarion.
Beltane70 replied to Retracting Head Ter Ter's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I had really bad luck with Aquarion last night! I'm currently in Tokyo right now and last night happened to be flipping through the tv channels in my hotel room. I turned on TV Tokyo, I believe, and was met by the end credits of Aquarion! Talk about bad timing! At least now I know that Aquarion is on at 1 am on Monday nights... -
I'll actually be seeing episodes 30 and 31 100% leagally.
