    In my car, an '05 Sentra SE-R SpecV, my 6th gear doesn't hit 3k RPM until I'm doing about 80mph. At 60 mph, my RPMs are only around 2250 in 6th.

    I've actually spent the past couple of years watching SDFM on the days or months that the episode would take place if Macross was actually real. It was always interesting to see how the real 2009-2012 differs from Macross 2009-2012 in both technology and fashion. I love how Mikimoto's Macross the First updates Macross to reflect current technology and fashion. On an interesting note, Misa's mini-recorder is actually one of the few things that the original series managed to correctly predict.

    Interesting enough, both shows actually pre-date Star Wars, although you could argue that they were shown in the US because of Star Wars. What I've found funny is how important HG thinks itself is. Enough that I actually got banned from robotech.com for listing anime shows that came before it and downplaying its importance.

    I don't downplay its importance because I hate HG, I downplay its importance because of the number of anime shows that were aired in the US before it, that I find more important to anime's growing fandom. People that I grew up with remember Star Blazers, Battle of the Planets, and Voltron, but don't remember Robotech at all.

    Seriously? No model car should be more expensive than its real-life counterpart. Whoever would have thought that a real Bugatti Veyron would actually be cheaper than a model of a Lamborghini!

    I learned about Macross through Robotech when it aired on US TV in 1985. It wasn't until a year later, though, that I discovered Macross in Japanese when I saw DYRL being shown at a table in the dealer's room at a science-fiction convention in NYC.

    From what I read in another article, it was a nice mix of wet roads, 85-100 mph speeds, and a botched lane change that caused this accident. I heard that even a Prius wound up in this mess. I didn't know that General Lee was from Europe!

    I was just reading about "Order 66" yesterday. According to Wookiepedia, not all the clone troopers obeyed the order. If that source is correct, then "Order 66" is part of their active consciousness. There's also an "Order 65" that I saw that apparently calls for the elimination of the Supreme Chancellor.

    The Robotech franchise reminds me of an old episode of Tales from the Darkside where this old man dies, but is too stubborn to acknowledge that he's dead despite the fact that his body is decomposing.
