I don't think that it's ever mentioned. Macross tends to be like that in that it rarely gives specific dates for its events. Frontier is actually the one rare case where the specific date an episode takes place.

MacrossWorld Contest: May'n Concert Tickets for California Members
Beltane70 replied to EXO's topic in Movies and TV Series
I'm debating on whether or not I want to go to this concert. I'll actually be in LA on the date of the concert, but am unsure how busy or not I'll be. -
Is it odd that I get more excited seeing a GT-R on the road than I do when seeing a Ferrari or Lamborghini?

The weird thing about watching Thundercats for me is the fact that I actually know the guy that plays Tygra.

The computer and electronics super geek thread
Beltane70 replied to azrael's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I have yet to own an Epson printer that lasted over a year. HP, on the other hand, has never failed me. My current one (the second HP printer I've owned) has been around for two years without any problems. The one that I had before this one, I actually gave to a coworker, as I upgraded it from a standalone printer to a printer-scanner. -
This would definitely be a fighter-mode only toy if I decide to buy one. I've never been too fond of the VF-4's battroid mode, but I sure do love it as a fighter!

Yes, that was Gideon, or Hijikata, if you want his actual Japanese name. It does make sense to see him in the new version since it is mentioned in the second series that Hijikata was one of Kodai's instructors. One of the other things that I like about the new series is that there's actually several female crew members aboard the Yamato. I always found it strange that the original series did show several women boarding the Yamato in one of the first episodes, but then totally ignores that fact for the rest of the series. This time around we have at least three that will be significant characters in the new series. Of course, there's Yuki Mori, plus Dr Sado's nurse. The third female character is actually a gender switch for Yamamoto, one of the fighter pilots under Kato's command.

Kawamori's pet AKB project-first footage!
Beltane70 replied to Tochiro's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Surprisingly, I'm finding that I actually like the show. I have no interest in the actual group, but the anime is more enjoyable than I thought it was going to be. -
I remember getting that set for my 15th birthday when it was being marketed under Revell's Robotech line. This was actually about six months before Robotech was shown on TV. Back then, I didn't even know that the set was actually from Macross. Sadly, all that remains from it is the Tomahawk destroid and the armored VF-1J.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
Beltane70 replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I recently marathoned all of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. What a dark and fairly disturbing, but pretty damn good take on the whole magical girl concept the show turned out to be. The show starts out in typical magical girl fashion, but totally takes a turn into the darkness at the end of the third episode. -
You'd have to be a pretty cold-hearted bastard not to get teary-eyed watching the end of Gunbuster!

Actually, that stage is set in either the rings or one of the moons of Neptune.

To be perfectly honest, since I live in the US, I'd definitely be on the UN side.

would you believe that Macross 2036 is the whole reason why I bought my PC Engine Duo?

Aircraft Super Thread Mk.VII
Beltane70 replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Possibly never. I was actually pretty surprised that they decided using the name United instead of Continental. I was always under the impression that Continental was the more successful and financially stable airline. -
For the second time, I heard Macross background music on Late Night with David Letterman.
