Amazing minature model of the Hamburg Airport
Capt Hungry replied to wm cheng's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Wow!! That is AMAZING! I saw something on the Discovery Channel one time about the place where that is, but it didn't really show the airport piece. I'd love to see that in person sometime. -
Wow! Just realized that I never saw the finished product. Amazing, amazing work!!

There is a Japanese version of Battletech, but as far as I know, there's only a sourcebook. The mech designs are VERY different compared to what you see in Classic Battletech. To wit: Japanese Battletech Those are the only "custom" designs that I am aware of. Dunno how much exposure BT had/has in Japan.

You're both welcome! I stumbled across the Concept Ships site by accident and now I usually visit it at least once a week. There is some very cool stuff to look at. The imaginations of the artists are quite amazing.

Dunno if any of you know about the Concept Ships blog. There is some really cool concept scifi art that is broken into categories for vehicles, ships, robots and tanks. The banner for the month of July is a concept ship for the Yamatoverse. There is also about 9 to 10 pics of other concept ships done up in the style of the Yamatoverse. The pics that are included are very, very cool and there is lots of detail in each pic. When you get to the link, just scroll down a bit. The artwork changes every couple days. Concept Ships Also mentioned at the top is another blog that also contains more Yamato concept art: Lighthouse Thought all the Yamato fans here would appreciate seeing this stuff. If this was mentioned in the past, please forgive me.

Snow Crash, bu Neal Stephenson is hands down, my favorite book of all time. It's a great sci-fi novel, but it also imagines a United States that could be possible. Plus, in this virtual universe age, it's quite fitting. The characters are believable and the author has a kind of irreverent style. It's thoroughly enjoyable. I would also recommend most of William Gibsons books. Neuromancer (of course!), Mona Lisa Overdrive, Count Zero, Virtual Light, Idoru and All Tomorrow's Parties are tied together in two separate trilogies.

Just saw this at HLJ: Macross Chronicle I don't know if this has been brought up already, but apologies if it has. Each page pulls out and is coded and cross referenced and hole punched! And there is an Offical binder to boot! Offical Binder

New Battletech computer game!!!!!! YAY!!!!! I am soooooo happy that it won't be set after the whole jihad nonsense. Back to the third succession war! I am soooooooooo looking forward to this!! It'll be interesting to see if multi CPU/GPU support in implemented. If the environment is truly destructible, etc, then the system I am currently building should be good. Just wish I could afford Core i7!!

Nice! It looks much better without the standard color scheme.

Over the last couple of years, I have been digging surf rock more and more. Just re-upped at Emusic.com and discovered The Surf Report, Los Tiki Phantoms, The Surf Zombies and Lost Acapulco. Also, got some Bad Brains and 7 Seconds for some old school punk.

Thanks for posting the pics Lone Wolf. I think the color is amazing PetarB, so I wouldn't worry about things too much. How are things progessing?
