  1. Shame on Wave! There's nothing more half-assed and cowardly than labeling a scale model as "non-scale," especially when Arcadia, Bandai, Hasegawa, and Yamato have produced figures of the same design at various officially-designated scales. Incidentally, what scale is their non-scale VF-0 kit?
  2. Point taken. Votoms stuff displays well with Acid Rain toys, owing to their similar setting. I've been collecting the 1:18 Toys Alliance/Ori Toy stuff for years... B2FIVE, on the other hand, sh!t the bed with their funky scale.
  3. The fifth Devil May Cry fan is my sister, Lucille. We call her Lucy.
  4. 1:24 is a popular scale... 1:35 is a popular scale... 1:32 is an established scale, too... ...but 1:28? That's just taking the piss. Someb'dy be trolling.
  5. Again with the missiles between the shoulders? Are we forever to be saddled with Imai's baggage? And who's the dude piloting Houquet's Legioss?
  6. Yes, but only because Discovery begs the question. Remember when they pulled this sh!t? Having re-cast Pike, Spock, Vina, and the Talosians, they could've shot their own flashback based on The Cage... but no, they choose to use clips from FIFTY-FIVE years ago instead, confusing the millennials and pissing off the boomers simultaneously.
  7. Truly the "Silver Age" of anime, back when storytelling still trumped marketing (and merchandising was the result, rather than the catalyst). Sadly, the success of Pokémon put an end to that. Thankfully, anime was still shot on film back then, so all that great stuff is available in HD now (and will probably see 4K remasters in the future)...
  8. That's a stunning build. How did you do the lights on the wings?
  9. I was shocked to hear Macek's claims in the infamous 1986 "Robetech" TV interview on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xejgJdHC5A
  10. I'm very intrigued by the pacing of this series. We're now three episodes into this ten-episode season, and our protagonist has only just left orbit... and while very little has been revealed about existing characters, we just keep expanding the cast week-by-week. It's utterly unlike anything I've seen in Star Trek canon before. And with the TNG movie uniforms having been introduced in First Contact, wouldn't it have made more sense to use them in the 2385 flashback sequence (as opposed to fabricating these ugly new throwbacks)? Oh, and it bothers me a great deal that we keep seeing new Romulan characters -- guards, scientists, administrators, servants, spies, assassins -- yet none of them have anything resembling Romulan costumes or hairstyles. Star Trek managed to stay relatively consistent with their depiction for over 30 years, but I guess J.J. threw that out the window in 2009. Admittedly, Nemesis had already muddied the waters a little, but still...
  11. And like a chump, I bought both... ...despite only minor differences in scale... ...and virtually identical paint app's. It's definitely my favorite Constitution variant, however.
  12. I take it you guys aren't fans of the highly-stylized Metal Build EVAs, then? Personally, I think the recent RAH NEO "New Paint Version" is the definitive EVA-01, both because of the articulation and the accessories included.
  13. Hasbro held back a few hundred of the Khetanna to sell on eBay to international buyers -- Hong Kong, Australia, and the UK, at least -- and sold them all in less than eight minutes.
  14. I finally resurrected my Tsukuda Hobby vinyl EVAs, after over a decade in storage...
  15. BB-8 is still a huge draw here in Japan... ... and Porgs never were.
  16. The picture is for illustrative purposes only. Not intended for the visually-impaired.
  17. Nice Bug! Stands 10cm tall, which makes it (and the soldier figures) about 1:32 scale. And at a retail price of ¥11000, it's only about twice what I'd be willing to pay.
  18. Well, it just got a whole lot more PVC... My virgin shelves got violated a lot more quickly than I'd anticipated. At least the bulk of my anime figures aren't languishing in boxes anymore... most of these have been in the closet for the past five years. Now, where the hell am I gonna put MP Menasor and Bruticus?
  19. While Prime's "First Edition" series was a particular stand-out... ...there were many satisfying, show-accurate figures in the toy line. The only ones I wouldn't recommend here are Airachnid and Knock Out.
  20. Two episodes in, and already Picard is being outshined by his Romulan maid, Laris. She has to shoulder the bulk of the exposition, but Orla Brady performs her with such conviction and dignity that Laris has quickly become the most compelling character. I'm really hoping she doesn't get left behind on Earth. #TeamLaris
  21. Nah, the PG kits are only 1:60 scale. The Hyper Hybrid Gundams, however... They remain the biggest robot toys ever mass-produced.
  22. Hey, what's that cool-looking car... a "Night Striker?" It that a model kit? I'll have to Google it. crap, it transforms?! Damn, I gotta get me one of those! Edit: Found one on Amazon.jp for ¥22,000. Bought!
