  1. The "Furai" IDW Optimus Prime model kit is 16cm when assembled... aka Voyager-scale.
  2. Oh, I love the "Solid Essence Collection." How delightfully retro.
  3. Hey, c'mon... If it weren't for Robotech, this forum probably wouldn't even exist... and if it weren't for the ideal version of Macross that only exists in our heads, we probably wouldn't spend so much time and money trying to chase it. Rose-colored nostalgia fuels most of our toy purchases, be it Transformers, Star Wars, or Robotech Macross and Mospeada.

    Hi-Metal R

One of mine has a defective knee joint, rendering the articulation moot. It's so floppy, it barely supports its own weight... I never even bothered to pre-order one, but since they're 30% off on Amazon now, I bought one last week... It's sexy as hell.
  5. What's "The Tape Corps?" Are those just Masterpiece knock-offs?
  6. Yeah, I'm watching it now. So far, the story is as stupid as I remember it being... ...although Hux's sudden reveal that "there was another transport in the desert" (carrying Chewie) doesn't seem like such a cheat, now that I see it was visible in a quick establishing shot. Okay, J.J. I'll give you that one.
  7. I really hope this Echo "buisness" is finished now... the Bad Batch have gotten a little tiresome after four episodes in a row. Hoping for a new setting with different characters next week.
  8. In Brofessor's defense, I think this is an apt analogy. Just look at Facebook; among the myriad Robotech fan groups is one specifically for The Masters War (which is mostly fan art of Southern Cross characters and mecha). It has 1400 members. FOURTEEN HUNDRED.
  9. Oh, so right back to the Comico days. It's the end of the circle.
  10. What the hell...? Who approved that fat-ass EVA? It looks like a fanboy wearing a costume!
  11. I knew it. I knew it! The release has been delayed AGAIN.
  12. Ya. Fair enough. I should probably just stay out of this thread.
  13. Macek used to claim that Harmony Gold had the rights to Orguss as well, but just couldn't come up with a way to incorporate it into the Robotech concept (primarily because of the Emaan's problematic antennae).
  14. 17.5cm, according to BBTS... which would make it about 1:450 scale.
  15. I spent over $1300 on Blueberry Crabs -- just to ensure they'd get produced, mind you -- and multiple Kings as well, but I got stalled trying to source appropriately strong joints to articulate the Kings (I want action figures, not static models!), and... other projects have since occupied my attention. Oh, I much prefer the Helper Crab. Those ball-joints solve all sorts of problems. This one's from @duckmodelkits in Chile.
  16. I love the flickering orange lights on the console... Looks like a smoldering furnace under there. I can practically feel the heat!
  17. Way ahead of you, buddy.
  18. The crabs are back! Contact Moscato Hobby Models on Facebook (or Return 2 Kit Form for overseas customers).
  19. Over the last twenty years, the prequel trilogy (and spin-offs like The Clone Wars) have metastasized into Star Wars canon, so fans don't question it any more... but your point still stands. As much as Rian Johnson shat on the legacy of Luke Skywalker, Lucas himself did far worse to Darth Vader. But hey, at least the toys and models were cool.
  20. Rumor has it that Disney doesn't have to pay royalties to Lucasfilm on designs that are "legally distinct" from a pre-existing OT design, thus they can pocket 100% of the merchandising profits (which conveniently explains all the new Imperial troops in Rogue One, the lame speeder bikes and walkers in Rebels, the Falcon's radar dish, C-3PO's red arm, etc. etc.)
  21. Funny, TakaraTomy didn't play those games with the Clones. Both sets were regular retail releases. Again, the Transformer Legends releases were sold in boxed sets... ...and while they're as small as some of the Studio Series deluxes, I think they're a little too big and bulky to be called "Legends scale..." ...maybe...?
  22. Sure, if you wanted him slumped down in the seat like... ...well, you know.
  23. No atmosphere on Cybertron... no gravity in space... no animated depiction on Earth... so, no complaints from me. Just yesterday, I was asked to acquire a set of the Japanese Legends releases, specifically for their Targetmaster pack-ins... I hadn't realized they'd already doubled in value!
