And a bonus Easter egg, for those of you playing at home: Mechanical details under the removable leg armor. π

Minmay Mode? π Surprisingly enough, the orange is much closer to the Yammie than to Bandai's own HMR... πΆ ...and more consistent in color tone, thankfully enough. βΊοΈ They seem to be on pretty firmly to me. π€

Three is enough for me, thanks. π I have some potentially bad news, however... For those who hadn't heard, the papercraft parachute/tent has to be cut from the instruction manual. π€¨

The 'Hey look at this really cool model build I saw' post
tekering replied to Shawn's topic in Model kits
Japanese model makers are known for their exceptional attention to detail... ...and their consistently poor English. π -
"Coming soon." "Look for it on digital." I guess they still don't have a release date for it. π€¨

Would've been nice if his closing credit sequence included some actual credits. Like, who was the third-party stand-in for Megatron?- 16945 replies

Captain America: Brave New World - February 14, 2025
tekering replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson were responsible for Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and they're the credited writers for Brave New World... so if you liked the series, you can probably expect more of the same. π- 103 replies

The Acolyte - Disney Plus Star Wars Series
tekering replied to jvmacross's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The Black Hole (PG) was released in direct competition with Star Trek: The Motion Picture (G), and their respective MPAA ratings ensured that parents took their children to be bored by Star Trek, rather than frightened by The Black Hole. If Disney wanted revenge, Star Trek would therefore be the likely target. π -
STAR WARS Merchandise Episode - 2

Oh yes, because we desperately need another. π At least the HasLab version will have a unique cardback. βΊοΈ -

Compared to Bandai's Metal Build line, perhaps... and maybe the weak yen means Β₯30,000 isn't as much as it used to be, but... it's still Β₯30,000. π€¨ Plus, it's too big to scale with any other IDW figures (official or otherwise). π- 16945 replies

I had exactly the same response to seeing Furiosa -- most of which is set in the open desert, for chrissake -- and yet, they felt the need to fake so much of it... A '60 Star Trek set would've looked more convincing (and at a fraction of the cost of this lousy CGI composite). It's an even bigger disappointment than Dial of Destiny, really, since Indiana Jones had already screwed the pooch with Kingdom of the Crystal Skull... whereas Fury Road had done so much for real. Who would've expected the sequel to look more like a video game than a film? π

Looks like he didn't follow the instruction manual very closely... His missiles aren't facing the wrong direction. π

I feel like their "shocking sales" meant the beginning of the end for KC. Kickstarter feels more like the final Hail Mary. π¬- 2451 replies

You've absolutely outdone yourself, @jvmacross, with the most comprehensive review gallery I've ever seen. Kudos! Incidentally... I love these flight crew figures. Can I ask where you got them?

I'm a little disappointed by the prominent sprue marks on the front-facing side of the FAST packs... π€¨ ...but it's nothing a little sanding can't fix. π Of course, the DX Chogokin YF-21 is an expensive collector's item to be using sandpaper on. π¬ I have no unique insights to share; aesthetics have always mattered more than engineering to me, and I display and photograph a lot more than I transform, so... Bandai's is the more accurately-proportioned and better-articulated battroid, so that's the mode you display it in. Arcadia's is the more accurately-proportioned (and not overly-tampographed) fighter, so that's the mode you display it in. π Oh, the ratchets in the ankles are superb, and it's capable of some excellent action poses. π I'm afraid my lightbox is inaccessible for the moment, so pics from the anime room will have to suffice. π

Mine's intact, thankfully. π You can always do it yourself... My Yamato is a little more restrained than the tampo on Bandai's. π
