  1. Sure, I mean, who would turn down a free... nightmare? ๐Ÿคจ
  2. Not concerning the Regult, it isn't. Say what you will about official stats post-SDFM, but the original 1982 series was pretty consistent with Zentraedi height being equal to that of the battroids. Regults were always depicted in the animation to be about twice the height of a battroid, and it was only after DYRL went into production in 1983 that they decided to downscale the Zentraedi, thus all the scale charts published post-SDFM reflect the new scaling. Everything produced post-DYRL follows the aesthetic changes made for the film -- and merchandising has always referenced the 1983 stats -- leading to the scale inconsistencies that confound us all... but during the production of the original TV series, the Regults never changed size. I do wish Bandai, Hasegawa et.al paid more attention to the anime itself.
  3. Yeah, more like 1:60. ๐Ÿค” Moreover, what is the point of producing such a large model if you're not going to add any detail? Without markings or weathering of any kind, there's no visual indication of size. It might as well be a capsule toy. ๐Ÿคจ Conversely, here's a 1:72 scale Regult from yesterday's modeling exhibit in Okayama: Despite its comparatively small size, the surface detailing suggests a massive mech. The larger the surface area, the more detail you can add... ...and thus convey a much greater sense of scale. Just imagine what a talented modeler like this could do with a kit twice its size!
  4. It's about time NECA got to the good show! If they maintain their standard 1:10 scale, however, the bad guys will all be huge and untenably expensive. ๐Ÿ˜“
  5. Dan Trachtenberg has stated that Predator: Badlands is intended as a far-future scenario, closer to the Alien: Resurrection setting than any of the other films in the franchise(s).
  6. The continued popularity of that 40-year old toy perplexes me. Both Yamato and Bandai have produced more accurate toys, at more practical scales, and in more variations than the original Takatoku versions, yet the outdated and inferior molds get continuously reissued...? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ Yeah, I agree with @M'Kyuun about retro Transformers (and Star Wars) reissues, too. ๐Ÿคจ
  7. Ms. Yutani gained possession of all the Yautja tech retrieved after the events of AvP:R and The Predator (as depicted in both films), long before the Weyland-Yutani merger even happened... and of course Peter Keyes (in Predator 2) explicitly explains everything the CIA had known since 1987.
  8. Finally, some confirmation directly from Nacelle: Thank you so much for your message and for taking the time to share your feedback! We really appreciate your attention to detail and your commitment to keeping your community well-informed. We completely understand the confusion, especially with multiple sources of information out there. To clarify definitively: the correct and final scale for the new Star Trek line is 1/10. That has been confirmed by our product development team, and itโ€™s the scale reflected in all official listings moving forward. We realize how frustrating it can be when conflicting details surface, and we appreciate your patience as things are clarified. If youโ€™ve already shared the 1/10 scale information with your audience, you were absolutely correct and weโ€™re grateful for your support in getting accurate details out there. Thanks again for your passion and enthusiasm, it really does mean a lot to us and the broader fan community. Thank you! The Nacelle Team
  9. Or, you know, just use rattlecans. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  10. Back in 2016, DX9's "Tyrant" and FansToys "Sovereign" were released, and both were well-received by the fandom. Nonetheless, collectors wondered why -- five years after the release of Masterpiece Rodimus -- TakaraTomy still hadn't produced an MP Galvatron. Who would've believed, with the release of Sovereign 2.0 a decade later, we'd STILL be wondering? ๐Ÿ˜‚
  11. Just about, yeah. I was ready to order one from Zica, but the $150 shipping cost was unacceptable. ๐Ÿ˜“
  12. TRON: Legacy is superior to TRON in every important respect, just as Mark Verheiden's Dark Horse Aliens sequel was superior to anything the Alien franchise subsequently produced. ๐Ÿ˜’
  13. I see Clarence appears to be sold out, but all the others can still be ordered from their site... I sure hope these sold well enough to fund further figure releases, from MGM properties or elsewhere. I support Michaรซl's devotion to the villains, secondary characters, and any other gaps NECA et.al continue to leave in our collections... Like, how about Dutch's squad from Predator? The crew of the Betty from Alien: Resurrection? Or any human characters from AvP, Covenant, or Romulus?
  14. That's a shameless cash-grab, even for Hasbro... ๐Ÿ™„
  15. Appropriately, that's the general consensus for The Acolyte as a whole. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  16. You had me at "the horses they ride on top of that one Star Destroyer." ๐Ÿคฃ It's a miracle that Rogue One, produced under the same studio conditions, turned out to be so good... and doubly miraculous that we got both seasons of Andor. I mean, has there ever been a greater gap in quality within one franchise? Even the abyss that separates The Wrath of Khan from Section 31 isn't as vast (and those were produced four decades apart)!
  17. Well, this is unexpected. With Nacelle's first wave of figures "in the final stages of production," according to this article at TrekCentral, they're suddenly claiming to be 1:10 scale... and BigBadToyStore has updated their listings accordingly. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ As I posted last year, this would actually make a lot more sense, since they'd fit with all those Diamond Select Star Trek figures from TOS, TWOK, TNG, DS9, and Enterprise... ...and low-and-behold, it actually seems to be happening! Naturally, this begs the question of when (if not why) this decision was made, why we're only hearing about it now, and how it's likely to affect sales going forward. How many more fans would've preordered these figures earlier, if they'd been marketed at this scale to begin with? How long was production delayed in order to upscale the line, and how much will the final figures differ from the prototypes we've seen thus far? How much were production costs increased in order to make the change? ๐Ÿค” Of course, there are other possibilities to consider. Maybe the latest press release was a mistake, and they're actually still 1:12 scale figures... ๐Ÿคจ ...or perhaps they were designed at 1:10 scale to begin with, and the original announcements were in error. ๐Ÿ˜’ Either way, Nacelle now looks even more like a bunch of amateurs that don't know what the hell they're doing. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  18. I'm definitely gonna paint this in G1 Roadbuster colors. ๐Ÿ˜‹
  19. The 1:72 figures are the main draw for me as well, as difficult as they'll be to paint... ๐Ÿ™
  20. This year's the 40th anniversary of Robotech, actually... ๐Ÿ˜ It's a moot point, though. I'll be busy with work all weekend, and will barely have any time to visit the modeling exhibit, much less participate. ๐Ÿ˜“ However, given that deadline's not hanging over my head any more, I can put more time into Halloween prep instead: I've been asked to host an event downtown, so I can display some of the masks I've painted. ๐Ÿ˜‹
  21. That's a fabulous way to demonstrate your work, and it's all the more impressive as a result. I think I'll try the same: The tiny conning towers on these were almost absent from the 3D models, and pretty much had to be scratchbuilt to approximate the line art. Now, onto the battlefortress itself... Yeah, you want something with a lid. I like toolboxes myself... I've been disassembling Star Wars figures for decades, and find this to be an effective way of organizing parts for customs. Regardless of how you do it, though, you've already got the most important element: the ingenuity and skill required to scratchbuild the parts you've lost. Zeta Gundam had far better production values, mecha designs and music, but the dialogue and character motivations were often baffling... especially among the women, yeah. ๐Ÿคจ
  22. While you're at it, Greg, you might as well give him the proper licence plate. I mean, if you're gonna go the distance, then go the distance, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰
  23. Weathering can be a double-edged sword. It's gotta be dirty to bring out that detail, but we all know that Max wouldn't allow it to get that dirty (much less the SDF-1 maintenance crews)... It's not realistic in-universe, despite how cool it looks. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ Is that a Hasegawa kit? Actually, that's the live-action Arcee from Rise of the Beasts.
