  1. HardlyNever hardly ever gets the jokes.
  2. Wow, I thought spelling "Iota" with a 'J' was just a mistake they'd made on the hobby show placards, but it looks like they're fully committed to it now! It's not consistent with any English spelling convention, Japanese romanization system, or previous product nomenclature... It's depressingly consistent with Mospeada merchandising trends, however. Stick (sic), Ley (sic), and Fuke (sic) can attest to how often products are mislabeled by ignorant Japanese companies. I preordered mine from Amazon.jp.
  3. You know, with a little re-written dialogue, this art would make a lot more sense:
  4. That's very generous, Brett! I'll happily pay in advance for a Zentran Soldier and a Zentran Officer, then.
  5. Intentionally crappy figures are still crappy figures. I can't even imagine how Super7 manages to get all these licenses...
  6. As long as it's anonymous, up- and downvoting is meaningless. And while we're on the subject of sites unable to list a product for sale under the correct product name, Amazon.jp is the nadir. Their translation algorithm mangles virtually every product description. Apparently, the "Notebook Theatre Version" is easy to find.
  7. The individual bots are crazy articulated, too! Oh, you'll find he's very photogenic.

I think I'm done with the hangar deck...

In the meantime, here are a few figures and vehicles for use with HMR displays, thanks to Imai (and resurrected by Bandai):

I imagine a large Japanese retailer like Yodobashi Camera probably got stuck with a lot of sets with 2 right armor pieces... Sure, once it's completed for the contest this weekend.
  11. T-Rex designed a whole new pilot figure for Arcadia when they redesigned the VF-0, and I daresay the pilot's a lot more proportionally accurate: Yamato's figures always had exaggerated heads with massive helmets, which unfortunately means the new Arcadia Roy figure doesn't match the look of other pilots in the line.
  12. Like Dumbo, you are brave to question conventional wisdom. It takes great courage to fly in the face of common sense.
  13. Premium Finish in da house! That's my old Yammie on the left.

I've added some rudimentary markings... ...and installed some lighting effects... Lots of work still to do...!
  15. Dude, Dumbo isn't even Tim Burton's first Disney remake. Remember Alice in Wonderland? He directed the remake and the sequel. Or Frankenweenie? He remade his own short film! Frankly, I think his best remake was Dark Shadows.
  16. Yeah, that's the same product. Eaglemoss stuff is always more expensive in Japan.
  17. Disney's animated Beauty and the Beast was a massive hit in 1991, becoming their highest-grossing film and eventually making over $425 million worldwide. Their live-action remake made THREE TIMES more money -- more than any Transformers or Batman or Iron Man movie, even -- and became the tenth-highest grossing film of all time! It was that success (both critically and commercially) that's continuing to feed this trend.
  18. Congrats! Please post scans of the decal sheet in the "Decals library" thread.
  19. Like he's riding a horse, most likely. I don't see much axis of movement in the thighs.
  20. Only the movie TMNT: I have no interest in the live-action films. NECA does great work -- I bought their Mirage comics figures -- but I actually prefer Playmates' 2012 series: This line had the most appealing proportions, unique sculpts and body types for each character, excellent articulation, and an iconic look that's not specific to any single film, video game, comic or cartoon series. In the 30-year history of the brand, these may be the only Turtles than managed to look cute and cool at the same time.
  21. I just purchased an entire line of TMNT action figures! I must be going through a midlife crisis or something.
