Seems pretty solid to me. I can't compare it to the Advance, but it's a lot more secure than the ol' Yammie, that's for sure. Is that in reference to the fuel filter?

I removed the offending white paint with Mr. Color lacquer thinner. Surprisingly, it had little effect on the black paint underneath... However, the black stripes required repainting anyway, since there was no black paint underneath the white UN Spacy lettering. Still, simple enough to remove and repaint without any sanding required. Here she is next to the old Yammie:

That's called "damning with faint praise." But it's true, the Evolution Toy is (unfortunately) the best Legioss toy yet produced.

Ah, but his commentary is frustratingly repetitive. He says the same things over and over again, and takes forever to get to the point of what he wants to say. Even by Japanese standards, it's infuriating. Still, he makes the transformation look relatively easy, and I had no more trouble getting it to battroid than he did. And the battroid mode is fabulous. Having fixed the offensive tampo on the wings, I'm now completely satisfied with the figure, and may order a second while they're still available at retail rates. I have no QC issues, no objections to the design or execution of the figure, and nothing to complain about. But that may have a lot to do with my expectations... See, I've never handled or even seen the VF-19 Advance, nor the Arcadia YF-19, so my expectations are largely based on the two Yamato releases I own. Those versions are far less accurate, far too simplistic, and far too lacking in detail to satisfy in any mode. Consider this simple comparison: Bandai's new release didn't break on me when I tried to transform it; no pieces came flying off as I handled it; nothing was loose or floppy; and the product doesn't feel cheap or hollow. Furthermore, comments like onnasake's led me to expect a much more difficult and frustrating experience than I had with the figure, thus it has pretty much exceeded all my expectations... and I've barely begun to experiment with all the accessories and display options available. I absolutely love this toy!

The Batcave diorama is mostly repurposed parts from the TMNT "Secret Sewer Lair" playset, with some Ubiquitous extensions and other miscellaneous accessories... oh, and a repainted DST Alfred.

No, it's not really an issue. The arms compress properly; they just don't hold their positions very securely. Since the Zeta came with little Dark Mospeada ride armor, will the Dark Legioss come with little Bartley ride armor?

That doesn't seem to be the case with Star Wars merchandise... Revoltech Yamaguchi, S.H.Figuarts, MAFEX, and Hasbro have all released competing six-inch Star Wars figures.

I think the "social justice" politics extend beyond merely casting... That sort of social criticism is a defining characteristic of the SJW movement, isn't it?

Shoji Kawamori's Juushinki PANDORA (Spring 2018)

Yeah, that looks way off-scale. I bet the designers at TakaraTomy hate you as much as they hate Michael Bay.- 134 replies

It sounds absurd, and completely unjustifiable to me.

Actually, it's ridiculously bad news. If they try to market 60cm Zentraedi figures, the line will implode long before they get around to releasing the main human cast. I'd rather not see them bankrupt the company, now that they've finally starting making a product worth buying...

The butt guns? You're kidding. Edit: OMG, you weren't kidding! My MAFEX Dark Knight is beginning to look right at home.

Ah, but that's not a misprint or a gaffe, it's merely a stylistic choice. To us, "shin" and "sin" are two different sounds, but there's no difference in Japanese. You could spell it "sheen," or "sin," or "seen," or "shin," and it would sound exactly the same. Students are still taught the standardized Nihon-shiki system in public school, which uses "sya, si, syu, syo," rather than "sha, shi, shu, sho." It's like saying "color" is spelled wrong because it's missing the "u"... "Colour" is also acceptable, of course, but it's much less commonly used.

I tend to think of AVP as a Predator film (a brightly lit action film, that allows Yautja and human characters to interact), whereas AVP:R is an Alien film (an underlit horror movie, that further expands on alien physiology). As a bigger fan of space opera than action films, I prefer the Alien series... thus I think AVP:R is the better film. I'm hoping The Predator is, at the very least, a distinct improvement over AVP... That's not much to ask for, is it?

After thirty years, three disappointing sequels and two hated crossovers, I'm beginning to wonder if "a good Predator movie" is even possible...
